I was in the market for a cheap used car that was good on gas and great for winter had found a ford taurus  that was SUPPOSEDLY for sale at this location. I called the number provided and was scheduled for a test drive early thursday morning with Rod. I should have knew something was terribly wrong when I walked in. For one the place looked deserted and was really dirty with cups of coffee turned over on 2 of the 3 cubicles. After roaming around the showroom I finally found someone tucked off in a small office and I let her know that I was here for a test drive appointment  with Rod. She goes on to inform that  thursday was his off day and she'd see if someone was there to help me.(strike 2). Seems no one from the used car department was even at work yet so she calls Lesia over from the main showroom floor (she was totally awesome by the way) ask her to assist me. She ask if i had filled out a application for finance which I hadnt because I thought I was just here to see and test drive the vehicle and I knew I should have walked out then but i filled out the application and waited several moments before Lesia came back to ask me about  a trade in and/or down payment and for my payroll information. I knew I was in trouble for sure when I heard the lady who I intially made contact with say to Lesia well good luck with that (strike 3). We walked over to the main show room floor and Lesia did EVERYTHING that she could to help me understand financing versus leasing and what was needed for both. Even with her great customer service I left not even seeing the taurus that I was supposed to see and I didnt test drive anything at all. I left a bit discouraged and will never attempt to buy a car from them again. I should have read the reviews before even going there. If it wasnt for Lesia Id give them NO STARS but she really was awesome!

WHAT A BUNCH OF DARROW-LICKS. I was in the market for a second car, a cheap second car to drive on the salted Winter roads here. I work from home and my wife uses our main car for her commute. I saw a car for $2,400 on their website, high miles not a beauty but you get that at that price point. A salesperson went with us for a quick test drive and halfway through the drive the check engine light comes on.

We get back to the dealer and the salesperson asks if I want to purchase the car right now. I said not with the check engine light on but if you have your service team diagnosis it and get back to me we might work something out.

Salesperson goes through the whole dog and pony show. Seriously, I'm paying cash, I want a cheap car, let's not waste our time with the pageantry. He goes to his sales manager with whispers as we're left seated at his cubicle. You know the drill.

He comes back and tries to talk us into a lease for a new car. What? We stand up and go talk to the sales manager and he has major attitude saying "with that price range you'll only get cars with the check engine light on" and "we have no intention of selling that car, it's a door buster". We walked out. What a stupid waste of two hours.

Very dishonest salesmen and deceptive advertising is what this dealership offers. We drove over 70 miles to see a car they had advertised on the internet.  When we got there we test drove it and liked the car.  When we sat down to go over pricing, they told us they were "doing us a favor" and wanted to charge us $2000 OVER the advertised price!  They said the price advertised was if you had a $4000+ vehicle trade-in. This was no where in the advertisement at all, not next to the advertised price, not in the fine print, NO WHERE.  We were not told of any trade-in required until we sat down to talk pricing?  They are actually engaging in illegal advertising practices by advertising the car for one price and then try and charge $2000 more at purchasing and then insulting our intelligence by telling us they were doing us a favor.   Do they actually get anyone to fall for this?  It was all done to get us into the dealership and then try to rip us off.  On top of that, they wanted to add another $299 "dealer fee" thus increasing the purchase price another $299.00.  The sales manager was rude and ignorant and his attitude alone convinced me to never go near this dealership again and to be sure to let everyone I know not to waste any time or money here either. There are plenty of dealerships and cars in the Milwaukee and Chicagoland area, do yourself a favor and save your time and avoid this dealership.  I wish I had read the other reviews before I wasted my time, apparently I am not alone in the way they treat potential customers.

I saw a car on Russ Darrow's website that I liked. I called them that morning and asked if they still have it on the lot. They said that they did. I drove an hour and a half to get there because I was very interested in it. A salesman greeted me before I got anywhere of course. I asked him if I could take a look at the specific car and he told me that it had been sold two days ago. I left and will happily not be considering a car at a Russ Darrow dealer ever again. :)

First you should know that Russ Darrow Nissan moved from 92nd & Brown Deer to 11212 Metro Auto Mall Blvd right off Hwy 45 and Good Hope Rd.

I bought my car from a gentleman named Demetrius Green. I loved his approach or no pressure sales, while asking me what I was looking for, what my budget was, and educating me on options and the differences between the model years of the car I was interested in.

I still him when I take my car in for oil changes, etc. When he sees me, he comes byto say hello and remind me that he is there if I need anything else.

This new facility is a great improvement over the previous location. It's much cleaner, the lighting is better and the amenities are better.

While my car is being serviced, I can watch their big screen HD TV, I can get some popcorn from their popcorn machine, use one of the PC's, or grab some complimentary bottled water or coffee.

The service managers do a nice job letting me know about what was done and explaining charges.

This is a much improved Russ Darrow Nissan and I'm very comfortable recommending Demetrius Green if you're in the market for a new car.

I want to start off by pointing out that the stupid chick who thinks she did her research FAILED miserably. You are the reason women don't get taken seriously. If you paid any attention you would have known that for instance in Wisconsin there is a $299 fee just to buy the car in Wisconsin. I came from Illinois pissed that I'm registering the vehicle there why should Wisconsin get any money? The sales guy, sales manager and finance guy were great! I was treated with respect and I told them what I was paying. Not a penny more. You people seldom forget that these people work long hours to put up with your crappy I know it all attitude and shitty credit to even get you financed! They don't get paid hourly. Before you post reviews that make honest people working for a living look bad do your research or just shut up because all you look like are feminist clowns that sadly are part of this so called liberal human population!!!!!

Drove from Madison to Milwaukee to test drive a used Odyssey van I found online at this Russ Darrow location. There were obviously problems with the car, which they offered to fix if we financed with them. We were told they could get us the same financing as the bank would give us, and we would be able to drive the car home that night. We agreed, and they told us to give them an hour. We did a few errands, called and it wasn't ready.  Ate some dinner, came back (3 hours later), and were ignored for 30 minutes. We got two different stories about what was fixed on the car, told it wasn't ready to go, and never told that the financing was not the deal they told us we would get until we pressured them about it. We walked away, but it was an extremely frustrating experience. This is a Honda dealership, and they obviously knew what was wrong with the car, but were not honest about it. Although the sales man was a very nice man, the Sales Manager and Finance person really gave us the run around.  Wouldn't buy a used car from this dealer!

Service is nothing special, but beware of their recent sales tactic where they leave you a voice message about "very important information regarding your last service visit." When you call back, they try to upsell you on a rebate program. Between my wife and I, our last four cars were Nissans, and neither of us will be taking our cars here again due to these tactics.

Apparently, Russ Darrow thinks it is perfectly fine in this day and age to treat a potential customer like crap.  I was shopping around for a car and like a good consumer, I called a couple different dealers to inquire about a specific car.  Russ Darrow gave me a quote, which was not a very good quote.  The salesman on the line then turned to fear tactics - letting me in on a "terrible secret - other dealers don't include destination fees in their price and then you get sticker shock when you buy it".  Lame.  I was smart enough to ask every dealer about extra fees and what was included so this didn't phase me one bit.

I ended up calling back again and spoke to a sales manager. I asked some relevant questions about invoice price, mark up, etc.  He told me he would get back to me.  He sounded aggravated by my questions.  In a few minutes, a woman called me from Russ Darrow and said "my manager told me that you're the woman who took a class about how to buy a new car".  WTF?  I was completely offended by this sexist remark.  I have bought many cars in my days and couldn't believe this came out of her mouth!  She recovered quickly and then tried to talk me into a car that was NOT what I wanted.  I got off the phone as quickly as possible. The next day, I complained to the GM and he apologized and told me that his sales manager would give me a good deal.  Then the sales manager called me (sounded bothered) and gave me a deal that didn't sound that great.  I mentioned that I was gong to look out of state and he turned to the fear tactics again - talking about how "other states have different laws" and their salesmen are "old school".  I am not sure what that meant but from what I saw at Russ Darrow they are not only the typical sleazy car salesman but sexist and offensive to boot.  I took my good money over to David Hobbs Honda and bought a new car a few days later.  Good price and treated with total respect by the salesman there.

If you are a woman, don't bother with these clowns unless you enjoy being treated like a second class citizen.

Stopped there for an oil and filter change because I had a coupon. Work was done quickly and correctly without any pressure for additional services.

The problem was their persistent follow up. During the checkout process I was informed that I might get a survey about my experience there and was informed matter of factly that they will do whatever it takes to get the best score possible and I mean anything. Received repeated calls assuring me of this after I left. They didn't need to do this, I would have given them a good score for their work.

Now that I am in their computer system am getting tons of junk mail from the Russ Darrow Auto Group trying to sell me a car or for service.

THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN CHANGED! (07.19.13)
(If u need auto repair go see Chalo at Jaznari Auto Repair in the Third Ward yelp.com/biz/jaznari-aut… )

Sadly (well not sadly) this place is complete garbage nowadays.  None of the people below work there anymore, high turn-over of employees. But here's what really pissed me off: (read below)

Most recently I took my 2004 Honda Pilot in to have a recall checked out.  While on the phone, before driving 30 minutes, I asked if they could recheck work they had done previously on a separate recall for the headlights.  The lady said no problem. When I arrived I explained they had done the work on the headlight recall and it checked out fine then, but now my headlight...BOTH headlights...had gone out, but the hi-beams work.  This is exactly what the recall was issued for, I even pulled it up on my phone and showed SHOP MANAGER KEVIN.  He said sorry, but they wern't gonna check their work.  If I wanted that inspection done it would cost...a lot.

Honestly this is absurd, do the check...you did the work.  So now I have been advised by my lawyer friend to contact Honda directly and explain the situation...considering this could be a potential law suit for Honda.  We will see if SHOP MANAGER KEVIN changes his mind after Honda speaks to him...such typical lousy MKE bullshit service!

JUST DO THE JOB RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!!!  AVOID THIS PLACE...go see Chalo at Jaznari Auto Repair in the Third Ward....thats where I am taking all my cars now.

I had never been to Russ Darrow Honda on Brown Deere Rd, but needed to have a 2004 Honda Pilot (not from their dealership) checked out before purchasing the vehicle.  I had read the reviews online and was a little skeptical, but most or all the reviews were about the sales team, which I did not come in contact with.

The service department was friendly and helpful, they checked out the Pilot, took me under the car, pointed out a few minor issues and had some suggestions, but nothing pushy.  I loved the fact I could look at the car's underside and see what they were talking about, not just read it on paper.  Terry the mechanic was very informative and genuinely loves Hondas, which I really liked to see.  Janice the service manager was also very informative.

I will definitely return for general service in the future, even though it is a bit of a drive from Shorewood, I feel I can trust and am comfortable with the people working on my car.

They installed a used battery in my car and charged me with the new battery price. A month later when the battery died I had to get my car towed and replaced at their shop since I was told that I had a warranty on the battery that I bought from them.  But the same person that sold me the battery told me that I purchased the battery without a warranty. Fortunately they honor the warranty eventually after some long disputes with the manager.
