Reviews on Burien Chevrolet

DO NOT buy from here.  They will run your credit (unauthorized) against 20 plus lenders.  this will greatly impact your credit score.  They will call and call and call harassing you to come in a buy from them and lie that they can get you a better deal than your bank. They say they will run your credit against their bank to see if they can get you a better deal.  I'm looking into this more and will probably be filing an AG complaint. STAY AWAY

Just a little update. I took my new car in for a Chevy recall on the keys. The appointment was easy to schedule . They had me in and out in under an hour. Love that. They even hand washed it for me and told me to come in for my free oil change when I hit the appropriate mileage. Still love this dealership.

Well, that was painless. Price was reasonable, salespeople totally not pushy at all, and I had my car within an hour.

Terrible Car Buying Experience
I would not buy a car from Burien Chevrolet, I just purchased a vehicle and after driving it for five days I found a malfunctioning item on my car that was manipulated to seem as it was working properly for the sale of the vehicle.  Not even five days after I purchased the vehicle did the part start to malfunction.
I returned to the Burien Chevrolet to have a few items that were broken and not found during their Certified Pre Owned Check List. (I would question that check list) I informed Burien Chevrolet of the problem of the manipulated item that was starting to malfunction, I was told they were not going to cover the whole cost of replacing the item, and told by Tony Michaels (GM) the follow.  It's not in their margin to cover it, they have done enough, and best of all, I should have found it when I was buying the vehicle and asked for more before I purchased it.
Tony Michaels then proceeded to tell me he's a "numbers guy" and that's just not in his numbers....
Burien Chevrolet, I did look for the malfunctioning part before I purchased the vehicle, but when someone manipulates an item to hide it, it's hard to ask "for more"
I would not spend my Christmas money with Dealership.

5 stars , though still waiting on some paper work because of banks stuff.

Picked up a Sonic last week, and not only did they give me a fair price (I did research and shopped 3 other dealers)

They had me in and out in about 2 hours, no bullshit sales games. I recommend Justin as a salesman.

I cam in on a Sunday, I told him I really did not want the whole sales game of being made to wait, and he brought out the manager for a price in ten minutes. Thatt day I test drove it and spent about an hour and left with a quote in writing.

Three days later I came back and they honored it and took my trade at the top Blue book value. Took two hours, two test rides while they looked at my trade and did paper work. Super fast and no games.

I am waiting on the final finance to go thru thought approved due to the holiday and I bought it at night. Once I get my check for my trade and the final Ok on my interest rate I will feel better.

Best part was the finance girl did not try to up sell me on unneeded warranties and insurance beyond a quick run down of options.

Thanks guys

If I could give them 0 stars I would. We had a negative experience with them 7 years ago and thought it's been long enough and we would give them a go. About 2 weeks ago we went in and we were interested in finding a new/used chevy truck. Needless to say we were insulted and told don't take offense and asked why we purchased the vehicle we were looking to trade in. The sales people had no idea about any of the trucks we were interested in and my husband had to tell them about the trucks we were looking at. After insulting us and wasting our time and talking down about our trade in we decided to take our business to Good Chevrolet in Renton where we weren't insulted and purchased a 2013 silverado! Needles to say they are rude and unprofessional I advise you to go somewhere else!

I know every chevy place isn't same. I got nervous when I came to this place because most of times I felt so ripped off w parts and price so Hugh! Was crossing my finger till they called me back and show me the price. I'm never been so much happier. I noticed this place is better than other of what I ve seen onyelp reviews. It's why I go to this place.

went in today with cash to buy a volt. willing to pay sticker price! just wanted reasonable trade in based on kelly blue book for an almost brand new car in perfect condition. they offered about 80% of what i got from another dealer a few days later. kept taking the keys and had to barge into the office to get them back. have been buying cars for 40 years and worst experience i've ever had. we were there more than 2 hours. buy a car somewhere else.

I was shopping for two weeks to lease a new car. I test-drove the base model Kia Soul, the Chevy Sonic, and Cruse at another car dealership closer to my Ballard-area home. The Soul was "cute" but under-powered. I liked the two Chevy's, but the salesman was unreachable for a couple of days, so I phoned your dealership.

Aaron Wilmot, your salesman, suggested I come into Burien Chevrolet and take a closer look at the two cars I liked and then discuss your special lease offers, so I did. I test-drove the Sonic and Cruse, and he presented a deal factoring in my trade-in for each vehicle. He was not pushy, and did not seem to possess the negative "car salesman" stereotypes that cause me to get nervous and leave. Instead, he gently suggested the Cruse was a bit better car than the Sonic, and explained that its current lease program made the car more affordable than the Sonic. I was persuaded, and promptly bought the Chevy Cruse, which I love. He, and the rest of your staff, made the transaction painless and smooth.

I will recommend Aaron Wilmot and Burien Chevrolet to everyone who comments on my new car, and many do.

Thank you.

I seriously try not to give bad reviews but...I cannot believe the nerve of this place!  I called and inquired abut a used Ford explorer v6 listed on craigslist.  I wanted to make sure that it was still available I spoke with Troy.  He put me on hold to check, and said that it was still there.  He then asked a few typical questions and I set up an appointment to go see it in 20-30 minutes.  So I arrive and he gives me some B.S. story about how he was confused about which car I asked about and that it was no longer available.  Really?  Even after I gave him the specific stock # that was listed in the ad?  He then tries to sell me an explorer that is a few years newer and a fully loaded V8 and is more than double of what I told him what I was going to spend on the phone.  What a slime ball move.  After I tell him no, he continues to try to push it on me insisting that I can pay the amount I wanted to spend as a down payment and make monthly payments of $150-$200 per month.  The jerk even then tries to ask if it's because I have bad credit! LOL!  No...  I'm just not going to spend $20-$30k on a car that I am going to drive around downtown Seattle and beat the hell out of for work.   Been there done that.  I really wanted to sock the guy, but I am getting too old for that kind of thing.  So instead, I go online and write a bad review hoping that others can see how this establishment operates and trains their staff.  Be sure to check out the filtered reviews, as I am sure that they not fake. They all sound very familiar in regards to the salesmanship at this place.

Excellent service

Dave Cunningham helped us get our Saturn repaired. He made sure we understood all the issues, the options, and the priorities vs the suggestions. Great communication, reasonable costs, ready when promised, handy shuttle service so my son didn't have to miss work. It's been a long time since finding a trustworthy car repair shop and such knowledgeable, professional staff.
- A very grateful new customer

I brought my 2013 volt in for warranty service and tire rotation. I was greeted by a smile and a cup of great coffee. The work was finished in a quick time and I was on my way with a clean car and a smile on my face. Burien Chevrolet is the tops in service and customer satisfaction.

My dream car: a reality. 150 miles on my bad ass new Camaro last night. It took about an hour of negotiations...full tank, washed and I was in the seat headed down the road. FUN!! Great to buy from a cool dude on his way up. Thanks, Ron!

Craig M. | 2013-08-14

My girlfriend went there looking to buy a Volt - after dealing with three different sales people, we left empty handed.  She had given them the keys to her old car so they could check it out for trade in value, and it felt like they were holding the keys/car hostage to keep us from leaving without buying a car.
They were aggressive, high pressure, and kept asking "what will it take to make this deal today?" even after she said she would need to think it over at home.  At that point we told them they were wasting their time and nothing they could say or do to close the sale, but they still didn't want to give us back those keys.

Although I could not make an online appointment for Friday, I phoned the dealership and sole with Amy. She kindly set an appointment for me for some minor warranty work.

Service Advisor, Don, was friendly and took care of my vehicle. He let the staff know that I preferred a hand wash, and he kept my vehicle in the garage overnight (to keep it safe) until I could pick it up today.

Great experience at Burien Chevy, thank you, Don! After purchasing our awesome Chevy at a less than reputable dealership, it's nice to know that we have a service department that thus far, has met our expectations.

I was working with a salesperson named Ben and he was very pushy and will hold you hostage on the phone until he gets his way. Very sleazy! I've worked in customer service for 4 years while in college and it's people like this who should not be working with the public.

CE G. | 2012-08-22

I rented a car here and could not be happier. Great service and a free upgrade. Love them!

James M. | 2011-11-29

I won't go into details but my experience with the service center was terrible. I was totally taken advantage of and ripped off. Will never go back there again and will not recommend them to anyone else.

Tracy A. | 2011-07-25

Great business.  You could tell these people really care about the customer.  The sales person who helped me went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly and I felt so great driving home in my new Equinox.

Izzy K. | 2011-05-11

Some of the most honest people I have ever met. They were very kind and understanding.

The sales guys at Burien Chevrolet helped me buy my new "used" car with professionalism and ease that was great find after a month long vehicle search.
When I needed my bumper repaired a month later I called for a recommendation and they sent me to Victor at their body shop and I was blown away.  He estimated the repair at a reasonable price and then beat his estimate on $$ and time. THANKS VICTOR!
Don't hesitate to call or show up if you are looking for an honest affordable dealership and shop, they've exceeded all my expectations and more.

My husband and I are usually weary of buying cars since we don't like to be pressured into anything. We had heard good things about Burien Chevy and decided to stop in. We started dealing with Mike Schwed who is a salesperson there. He was amazing! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, low pressure and really wanted to get the best car for us. He and the whole staff really made the process fun and exciting for us. I would HIGHLY recommend Mike to anyone including family. Thank you Burien Chevrolet for making us loyal for life!

This is a review of only the service group. It's fairly detailed so I'll keep it in bite size chunks for the attention spans of us guys.

What matters to me in auto service are quality, honesty and price.

My first experience with the service department was an issue I had in a car that actually matters to me. (Sorry, I'm allergic to cats). I enjoy doing most of my own work when possible, but I am occasionally limited by the facilities available to me at home. I am VERY reluctant to have this car serviced by others so quality was a big concern.

Since the car is past warranty, I was concerned about how much I was going to get hit for cost. Sure enough, on inspection, the problem turned out to be several problems. (What's up with that?!) It's not that I didn't trust them, I didn't even know them, but I asked if I could go out and personally see what else they had found. Much to my surprise, the savvy technician was willing to walk me out and actually show me in detail under the car what was found.

Not only was I satisfied with the tour of my car's new-found problems but In the short time spent with the mechanic, I was not only impressed, but I was glad the problems were discovered. Left alone, fixing these problems would have cost considerably more later. But they DID NOT CHARGE BOOK PRICE on everything since they were already into certain areas. So in some cases only adding parts prices was necessary.

Additional problems means additional time and they drove me home to West Seattle and picked me up again in a courtesy shuttle after they spent several days fixing the issues. It's a pretty good distance so this service carries significant value to me.

When the job was done, I felt confident about the work and was satisfied with the price. Much to my surprise, I was told that all the repairs provided carried a 12-month warranty. I don't think that's too common with dealer repair shops.

It doesn't hurt that the service manager I worked with (Chip) was very friendly and willing to answer any and all of my pain-in-the-butt questions to my satisfaction during the whole process.

I've already been back twice for things I could have easily done myself but didn't want to take the time to mess with.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot, they offered a courtesy car wash as part of the service.

Very disappointed with my service there.

(1) The most outrageous problem I have had was with my work van.  The heater blower motor quit working, they looked at it and said $500 (ouch!)  to replace a burned out motor.  When I picked up the van, having already had problems there in the past I told them I wanted my old parts.  So they gave me my old motor, paid my $500 went home.  The first thing I did was test that motor, and what do you think happened, it worked fine!  I was so angry, I called then and got no good resolution.  (some line that the old motor was making a switch fail) I am a fairly good mechanic myself and have a much better understanding of electrical systems the average consumer.  I was ripped off.

(2) Same van, different problem.  The heating controls in this vehicle are vacuum controlled, as is the cruise control.  (ie if you step on the gas the fan dampers don't work and thus the AC and or heat quits blowing)  After 2 attempts at repairing this and another couple hundred bucks, still not working.  Mechanic says they are fine.  So tell me why every time I step on the gas my heating/cooling system quits?

BTW  it is a vacuum problem, as all vacuum powered accessories don't work properly when you step on the gas

Crappy service, over priced, go to an independent mechanic, certainly not this dealership!

Ok so where to begin, first off my wife and I were very apprehensive about going to a dealership, we had heard all the stories from Friends who had gone to other dealers and either were insulted or ripped off. When we arrived at Burien Chevrolet we were both pleasantly surprised, the Salesperson was polite and NOT pushy. he listened to our questions and helped us pick out out brand new Tahoe. The negotiation processs was painless, they showed us the REAL invoice and we negotiated from there. I started to think it was to good to be true and when we met the Manager he also used s soft a soft selling approach reaffirming to both my wife and I that this is where we wanted to spend our hard earned $$ on our new vehicle. The two times we have been in for service have aslo been great, free loaner cars and shuttle service if you need. My wife also liked the fact that all but one of the service advisors are female and quite helpful. We have told everyone we know about our experience and our neighbors just bought a Suburban from Burien Chevrolet last week and are also thrilled with the experience. Shopping here wont leave you disappointed!
