Reviews on Tri-City Nissan Inc

This dealership has changed a lot in the last few years. We had disappointing experience a while back, they rebounded under a change in ownership as Tri-City Nissan to being a pretty good shop so we bought a new 2005 Pathfinder from them and were very happy. A year or so ago, the uber-franchise of Gee came in. This review chronicles our experience in the Gee era.

Our Pathfinder suffered seat heater & controller failures that took not less than four trips to fix. They even managed to call us to tell us the part was in, we dropped off the car and were told that it would be ready the following evening. When we went to pick it up, they suddenly remembered that the part wasn't in! On a second visit, we had them do the 30,000 mile service and they managed to replace two brand new, mega-buck wiper blades but didn't even bother to replace the totally worn one on the back window! Gee also decided that they wouldn't honor the lifetime $15 oil change/wash policy of the previous owners. Despite that, my wife went in this week for another oil change. No surprise, they were late and didn't even wash the car for a mere $80 (with Synthetic Oil)! Customer service is non-existent and attempts to resolve concerns with the staff were met with condescending attitudes and lip service on all occasion except one (the wiper blades - they gave me back $12 on the service and replaced the rear for free).

A friend told me that Gee instituted a number of new policies, including one where each salesperson must make two hours of phone calls before they can even step on the lot. I don't know about you, but I know where to find a new car if I want it and the last thing I want on my caller id is an annoyed salesman who is trying to get people from the comfort of their homes onto the lot. Most of the stronger staff left when the Gee-stapo showed up. No surprise there.

The neighboring Speck store has a Nissan dealer in Sunnyside, so we are taking our Pathfinder over there. They will take the rig to the Sunnyside store and bring it back to the Pasco store, so its like having local service. Save yourself the frustration and check around before bothering with Gee. I'd go -1 star if I could and this is probably our last Nissan. Don't underestimate the importance of a good dealership when you buy a car - we won't next time.
