Mercedez-Benz of Salt Lake City, owned by the Ken Garff Automotive Group, has been in business for over 50 years in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City.  We specialize in sales, service, parts, and ordering custom Mercedes-Benz straight from the factory, as well as a smart line-up of pre-owned vehicles.

Established in 1956.

Mercedes-Benz of Salt Lake City is part of the Ken Garff Automotive Group.
In his early days, Ken Garff was an attendant at a small Shell service station on 5th South and State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The Shell station exploded one day while Ken was outside at the pumps helping a customer.  While Shell was reconstructing the building, Ken began to sell used cars to keep himself occupied.  When Shell completed their new building they gave Ken an ultimatum, "If you want to keep working for us, you need to stop selling cars." It was too late.  Ken had discovered the car business and was not turning back!
We try every day to keep the ideals Ken founded the company with, on the principles of honesty, integrity, personalized customer service, and being a good corporate citizen.

Reviews on Mercedes-Benz of Salt Lake City

If I can give no star at all I would! We were shopping for  GLA and the sales person a woman only bragged about how she was a former beauty queen. We asked if they honor our company discount they said no discounts of promos coz they are Mercedes , luxury cars. I went to Lindon which was an hr drive from me and got me my GLA there. I had great customer experience there and they honored my company discount. SLC Mercedes is losing business because of the people working there.

You might want to think twice about using a certain business when almost everyone on this site over a time span of several years ranks someone with one star .... Ken Garff Spends hundreds of thousands of dollars each year on marketing talking about how well they listen and care. Unfortunately it can't make up for employees who really don't care and terrible service so don't waste your time with this dealership. several calls were not returned by a service advisor so I spoke with the service manager and he was a complete jerk. Did not lift a finger to try and resolve my complaint and had a bad attitude. I will be going to the Lindon Mercedes-Benz - just a few miles south of Salt Lake City and hopefully they have better service

An update on my review for Mercedes of Salt Lake City (Ken Garffff/Barf). I finally had a chance to drive down to Lindon. The folks at the Mercedes dealership there were extremely courteous. The drive time is the same from Sandy. It turns out they are rated one of the top dealerships in the West. And they have an amazing deal on the Mercedes A/B services. When you pay for the expensive service (I can remember if that is the A or B service) then you get the other service for free the next year!

Walked through dealership for over 30 mins without a sales person offering any help. We had the car picked out and would be paying cash. When I called the manager Gary because I was concerned that we received poor treatment because of my husband's color of skin, he said "I don't recall seeing any black people here and I just verified with our receptionist that we haven't had any black people come in today". This turns me off from any Ken Garff dealership but also from buying a Mercedes in general. We would never pay money to be a part of that kind of club.

I really appreciate the time Larry took to communicate and make buying easy. I have crazy ADD and the patience and communication level here was amazing. If you go here ask for Larry because he is a stud! He found me the best price on a GL63 after I scoured the internet for days. Local service and web prices. Win!

Service was Terrible at Mercedes Benz of SLC. Had one service person dealing with 10 people while everyone went to lunch at the same time! Service manager seem to be content in office watching one guy work. Mercedes Benz of SLC doesnt charge by the actual hour of work rather a book about recommended amount hours to complete the job. Mercedes Benz did an awful job putting my car back together. Went in for oil change and $1600 later, coolant falling out, mystery part part fixed and now picking up car. I hope the car doesnt break down again a few miles from the dealership again! this seems a bit strange and the trust factor is gone!

My business partner and I took a trip up to Ken Garff Mercedes-Benz to test drive a used E-350 that they had on their lot. The salesman did not want to take us on a test drive because the manager had requested to see our credit situation first. They were most definitely prejudging due to our age-(23,26)
Prior to that we were told by the new sales manager that we were unable to lease a new Mercedes-Benz because we have not yet established a leasing history on our credit report (where must one begin?). Long story short, drove down to Mercedes-Benz Lindon where we leased but paid in cash for 2014 E-350 Sport. Mercedes-Benz of Lindon were the best!!!! As soon as we had arrived to the dealership we hopped out the car and a salesman had parked a Mercedes-Benz E class right in front of the store. When I insisted in handing him over my drivers license he said "oh no worries, let's go for a ride"

That my friends... Is customer service!! the Garff group needs to let their salesman at Mercedes know that the older crowd aren't the only ones with money now.

There is a reason Ken Garff is rated 2 stars, trust me they don't care about you.

Similar to the problems Stephen had, I had an extended warranty on my car, they stated that all the claims were denied and I paid out of pocket. In addition they stole out of my car and broke parts on my interior. They replaced the parts but never mentioned anything about the stolen items, let alone apologized.

On another car we took in they damaged the hood, stated that it was not them and that they have a policy that if they damage cars the techs must tell the advisers. To fix the issue they popped the dents and put touch up paint on the hood to fix the scratches on a $120k car.

If anyone could take ONE thing away from this post, TRUST ME, call MB of Lindon. They picked my car up from work, delivered a 2014 E400 Hybrid and the customer service was 100x better then Garff. Garff doesn't care. They did the absolute least to appease me and get me to go away after these problems never apologized for anything.

I am an easy going person NEVER in my life had a problem from BMW of Murray, Strong Audi, Land Rover etc.. These guys are the absolute worst.

You may get out of there okay once or twice, but just remember if there is an issue they will NOT stand behind their mistakes. They will put you thorough hell and back.

So, I purchased my ML350 from Mercedes Lindon, but I was having window problem nearby Salt Lake City. So I brought my car to SLC dealer.

I really thought that Mercedes dealer is the same wherever you go, but apparently the SLC is owned by Ken Garff while the Lindon one is owned by Larry H Miller.

Initially as the SLC service person (Jason) agree to debug the issue they found out that the problem came from the window regulator and it is going to cost me around $500. I told them that I have extended warranty on the car and requested them to check on the extended warranty to Mercedes Lindon. They get back to me after 10min and said that they checked and they told me that electronics MAL-function is part of wear and tear; hence it is not covered. So I agreed to have them fixed.

I had a bad feeling as normally Mercedes extended warranty covered wide range of items and hence, I called Mercedes Lindon personally and they told me that the window regulator is covered by Extended Warranty, so I'm getting confused...

I approached Jason back from Mercedes SLC service department and discussing on why the information he got is different. He told me he checked with the third party service provider (Clay ?). So I asked him to stop doing the work.

While Jason agreed not to charge me any labor to debug the problem, I don't feel good as I felt I'm misinformed on this and has to check myself to Lindon dealership, apparently my warranty is under Larry H Miller warranty and only offered in the Mercedes along on and not Mercedes SLC.

These folks are clueless in the service department.  I brought my 2011 GL550 in for service on a specific problem.  6 days later my vehicle was returned to me WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM--in essence, they did nothing to fix the problem.  What a joke.  They're quick to up sell unnecessary service, like rotars and break pads, but beyond an oil change, they're worthless.  Will never go back there again.  It's MB of Lindon from here on out.   Don't waste your time and money at this joke of a dealership.

I've never had a good experience here in the 10+ times I've come, but I have no other options, except to drive to Lindon, so I keep going. I hope someone there reads this and fixes it. The service department is ridiculous. Everyone that works there is rude, they don't return phone calls, they are not helpful in person--like get real. For a luxury brand, you sure treat your customers poorly. Anyway, if you can help it, don't go here.

I was driving cross-country in a 1972 350SL Mercedes and started to have some car trouble about 2 1/2 hours outside Salt Lake City. I found a small imports repair shop in a small town nearby and they told me they couldn't work on my car, but that I should go to Ken Garff in Salt Lake City. The lady at the shop called them and told them my situation and that I was on my way. She also gave me the phone number and I called while I was driving to get an estimate on the cost of the work. The lady on the phone was friendly and told me they'd have to look at the car before they could quote me and to come on down, which I understood. Then after 3 difficult hours driving a car that wasn't running well, we arrived at the service center only to be told that they wouldn't be able to even look at the car for even a week & that they never would've told me to come down, despite the fact that myself and the lady at the other shop had called! When I asked what I should do or where I should go, they were very unhelpful and rude. I was shocked and surprised by this service, although I was lucky enough to find another repair shop that was knowledgeable and helpful, and had me running again the next day.

I have had a Mercedes for over ten years.  I love this location from the helpful sales staff to service.  They fix my clock or hook up my bluetooth, give me loaners whenever i get serviced.  They offer the best coffee and donuts.  They value there customers which is nice.  I will never drive anything else!!!
