Established in 1990.

My father Domingo Vara started selling cars back in 1974.  He had a natural ability to sell and knew that he had found his niche.  His dream was to have his own franchise and in 1990 that dream came to fruition.  Our family bought an existing Chevrolet store and renamed it Vara Chevrolet.  Fast forward to 2011 and our store, thanks to the hard work and effort of our 90 coworkers, continues to prosper.

My car was there 3 weeks and 2 of the 4 things were not done. They left scratches all inside my trunk, really? I was told the oil change got done, called to confirm, then was told, no it wasn't done. Tire pressure sensors needed to be calculated and that wasn't done. I will not use Vara again. I love the car but the service I have received is the worst of any dealer I have ever dealt with! Still waiting on my new car coupon book.... And my " Goody Bucket"  and I bought my car in July

So Im here in San Antonio for business and my 2010 truck "Check Engine" sign goes off. It had been going off and on in the last month but I drove across the state several times so it was no major issue. (A fuel sensor according to my OBD2 reader) I decided to drop it off at Vara since I will be in the area for at least 2 weeks. I figured they should be able to work on it and getting fixed in a matter of days. Since it is a dealer I expect prompt service plus they only deal with Chevys.

I dropped it off on Tuesday morning. By friday I had not received a call from the service department so I called my service advisor name Ernest. He said they will finally have a chance on Friday to take a look at it. What? 4 days later? He said he would call me later that day and let me know what was the issue. He never called. Monday came around and I called the service department and got the run around about him being at lunch and was not able to take my call. I called back over an hour later and he was still not back according to the receptionist. She asked if I wanted to leave a voicemail and I did. Never got called back. I called the following day and asked for Ernest again and once again he was on his way to lunch. The receptionist said if I want to leave a message in his voicemail again and I said no.  I did that yesterday and Ernest never called me back. She said ok hold on... he's just walking by. So what happens next? They just hang up on me and put me on hold several times.  Well I still don't have my truck or a response back. 8 days later and my truck is not ready and no info whats so ever. Planning to stop by in person maybe I can get an answer.  I hope he's not on lunch break.

I grew up thinking that car dealers where suppose to be top of the line in customer service and I am so disgusted with the customer service at Vara. I was planning to buy the new 2014Silverado in the next month or so but with all the issues I have had and such bad customer service here, I will definitely buy an import next time.

Great customer service, met the owner and was amazed on how down to earth he was. I will most diffently be back:) maybe for a camro next time :)
