Reviews on Red McCombs Superior Hyundai

This is absolutely the worst place in San Antonio to get a vehicle serviced. My wife had our suv towed there and they began work on it around 10am. I called and Jason told me that it was $527 plus the $106 I already owed them for "diagnostic". I asked if I could just buy the parts and have my mechanic do the work. He stated there were no parts, it was all labor. I paid my balance and had the car towed to my mechanic. It was $40 worth of work. I gave him a $100 bill for his honesty. I will never even buy a hyundai because of this idiot!

After searching for a car for a few weeks and getting grossed out at other places, I decided to check out Superior Hyundai. This dealership is really worth checking out. We got our first car from them for my wife and then I went back a few months later to purchase another car for me! Staff is verry knowledgeable and fights to get you a great price to meet your budget. I won't go to another dealership. Totally happy with both of my family's purchases here .

This was a horrible dealer.  Tried to get a car. Was fooled into buying a car with air conditioning ventilation.  Which isn't air conditioning.  I didn't know that.  They didn't say anything.  Returned the vehicle just days later and they tried to say it was a full refund. But they had actually added 6 month more payments!   I refused to pay. And stayed there til 2 am. Finally had to pay an extra 400 dollars.  I removed all symbols of this dealership from my car immediately upon getting it.  So awful.

I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership. The moment you sign the paperwork they could care less about you. After signing the purchase agreement I had to wait over 3 hours to see the finance officer. The finance officer uses high pressure tactics to try to sell you warranties and products you don't need. I gave in and purchased a service plan. The next day I realized my mistake and  I cancelled the service plan. 6 months later I still have yet to receive my refund. I have repeatedly contacted them and they refuse to acknowledge me. Go somewhere else to purchase a vehicle because this dealership will not help you at all once you sign the purchase agreement.

It is interesting to read the recent reviews, particularly the one by Lindsey. I am having the same problems. I purchased my Hyundai on 2/1/14 and drove it off the lot. I had financing already arranged with my bank before I went to the dealer. They also told me how much of a discount they would give me prior to my visit. I thought the discount was because I was a CarPro customer and because the car was a prior year close out. As soon as I started signing papers, they started adding conditions and more paperwork they needed. To date, I have signed the purchase papers 4 times, yes, that is FOUR! I have sent a copy of my marriage certificate 3 times, as well as copies of other documents they said they had to have. To their credit, one of the changes of paperwork was because they made a $500 mistake and the correction was to my benefit.  It is now 24 days after I purchased the car. I had to make a car payment on my trade-in that I left with them on 2/1 because they have not paid off that loan (did I say that was 24 days ago? and counting...). My loan for the new car is set up with my bank, but the loan amount has not been corrected yet. I don't think they have gotten the paperwork they need to change it yet. I hope all the paperwork and mess have been completed before my next payment on the trade-in and my first payment on the new car is due in a few weeks. This has been absolutely the worst dealer I have ever dealt with. And being a CarPro customer didn't seem to help at all.

I would not recommend this dealer.  After I paid and came back for my car since they were doing some interior work they told me oh well about having a 2nd key for my car.  Yes there was not a 2nd key on there but they started the car for me and I just test drove it.  There also was no manual and they never sent one as promised and totally wrote me off as soon as I bought the car.  On the 2nd note I actually do not like my santa fe and everything has broken on it that shouldn't have broken. Gas tank won't open, visors fell out of the ceiling ($150 a piece to fix) and my driver side door lock isn't working right.  Plus the one clicker key they gave me was a piece of junk and stopped working and its not battery related.

We bought a 2010 Ford Expedition in August from here the sales women was great she really was very helpful! I would use her again only if she was at a different dealership! I noticed when it rained the my windshield was leaking so we still have the warranty we put it at the ford dealership and they couldn't replace it under warranty well superior said they would re seal at no cost to us but now it's a big mess with phone calls and them getting back to us just to bring it in. I had a rental car and had the car in the shop for a week if they just answered a phone call it could have been done now they are saying it will take all day and they will not pay for a rental. I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant and can't sit there all day or be home all day without a vehicle! I will never buy another car from here again! Maybe another red mccombs dealership but not superior! If your not handing them money they don't want to work with you!

We bought a car from this dealership in summer 2013 & while they worked with us & gave us a really good price, I can't say it's been good customer service. Three times our salesman or the sales manager have asked for a series of documents - proof of address, etc - and three times we have sent them. Now 4 days before my first payment is due I still have no information regarding my loan, account number, etc. I called the lender & they had no record of me in their system. After three calls to the dealership (and no returned voicemails) I was able to talk to the finance department. He said "oh thank God you called, we need a lot of paperwork from you" - and while he was trying to solve the problem, he kept suggesting that I had been careless. I made it clear that in theory there should be a minimum of 3 copies of everything he wants in their dealership already. And yes, I can send it all again - but I really shouldn't have to.

I've now sent in everything a fourth time & can only hope that there will be some actual attention paid this time. This is a nice dealership & the sales people will work for you until you sign the dotted line. After that, you are on your own. Be vigilant.

I recently purchased a 2012 model hyundai.

The customer service was good, however my problem is that when signing, they sign you up for automatic bank payments by a 3rd party instead of the actual loan company (bank).

This 3rd party, Smart Payment, charges a fee. There is no need to go with a 3rd part when the banks have the same payment options at no cost.

I was furious to find this out and cancelled with the 3rd party and signed up with the loan company.

Because of this and the lack of reply after i contacted them and emailed the GM and other managers, i will never go back nor recommend this dealership.

I went with my husband to have his Sonata serviced, simple oil change and tire rotation. We had a 10:30 appointment time. After waiting for over an hour, we decided to leave. Our car was right where we parked it and there were still four cars ahead of ours. He than took it to World Car Hyundai and Nissan in Live Oak. Had a 2:00 appointment time.  He was in and out in under 20 minutes. All the difference in the world. We will never go back to that Red Mccombs service department.

These guys are out to waste your time.  They advertised a Honda Civic at a great price on ZAG.  I called and made an appointment to look at the car and test drive, giving the agent 2 days' notice.  When I arrived the car was on FOUR donut tires, all flat.  There was trash littered all over the inside.  There was a slash in the front seat.  Their ad had no mention at all about the problems of the car and the agent never mentioned anything when I made the appointment.  Looked like an obvious bait and switch to me.  Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my time and my friend's time who drove me there.

I sent them a complaint letter and they kept sending me a a thank you email.  Finally after 3 complaints they stopped contacting me.
