was excited to get a great deal on a certified used Mazda 3 for $1299.00. Will it turned out to be too good to be true. It had a few spots and marks on the paint. It drove great!  The salesman and I got along well. He even allowed me to drive it to my mechanic. No mention of ant problems with the car. Hey, it was certified by the dealership. Well the hood was replaced. Over spray under the hood. Missing screw on other parts. Buyer beware.

I am purchasing a new Mazda 6 today. Love the car. Mohammed Alsareiyne was my salesman. He did an excellent job of giving me a great deal right from the start so there was no haggling which I despise. The process was lengthy since they were short a finance agent today but overall I am very satisfied with them and would purchase here again. I love the no pressure tactic. I have been shopping for a car for the past month and this was a great experience.

If you value your time DO NOT bring your vehicle here. My mazda was purchased here in 2011 and I love my car and the company. Ive brought my car here for service since I bought it! Time and time again the service department has failed to live up to any standard. I made an appointment a week in advance for an oil change. Dropped off my carr, was told it wo uld be ready in two hours. Showed up 2 1/2 hours later because I hadnt received a phone call and my car hadnt even been worked!! Trust me I work in sales and understand it gets busy but this has occured time and time again.

I have owned a Chrysler 300 since 2006 and it's recently been giving me problems. A friend owned a Mazda 6 so when thinking of replacing I searched via autotrader and USAA auto service. I found a used 2012 car that looked great and per USAA price was great. I'm not one to haggle and basically wanted a great price and good experience.

Justin was great at assisting me with questions and all the steps involved,  The dealership was very nice and my wife and kids enjoyed the amenities while I finalized the details. I found everyone very friendly and look forward to any future visits.

Customer service was excellent. A few of the quotes such as new brakes, battery, battery terminals and driver side mirror seemed a little outrageous in price. I will probably buy the parts and do the work myself.

You ever had that feeling like you're on Candid Camera - sorry, Punk'd for the "yutes" amongst us...?

About a month ago I received a circular from North Park Mazda in the mail. They were offering several maintenance specials and the one for brakes got me curious. I got onto their website, and completed the online CONTACT US form or whatever they called it. In this message I asked a couple of questions about the coupon for brakes.

A few weeks pass ad no reply. In fact, it had kind of slipped my mind. Then one day I get two emails from them. The subject line read - What went wrong? The letters contained wording such as ... a few days ago you contacted my store about some information - and Are you still in the market? Well, my inquiry was never about purchasing a vehicle and the generic nature of "about some information" was all I needed to know that this was a generic canned response.

The next paragraph contained this nugget of sincerity:

If yes, I'd like to offer you my personal attention to make this happen. As General Manager, I can do more than anyone here to lower your price or pay more for your trade-in. If you're serious about finding the best deal, I'm willing to step up to the plate and show you how much we value your business.

What the heck, I'm a sucker so why not respond... So I fired off a REPLY to this woman, the GM (CKD) informing her that I did ask for some information but not about a new vehicle but, rather, a brake job for my car. I also informed her that I never received a response. These two emails came directly to my inbox so I can only assume any previous reply would have as well.

That email was sent on Sept. 27th, 2014. To date - no reply.

If you're going to online contact forms, respond to them. If you're going to reach out to someone, particularly one who is seeking to fork over money for a new car, have an idea of what the heck that person's initial contact was about! Lastly, if you put in your email that you're the GM and that you're offering your "personal attention" to the matter at hand, then RESPOND! If this is North Park Mazda's idea of "personal attention" then I'd hate to see what impersonal attention looks like!

I'm still in the market for brakes, front and back, but honestly I'd have real reservations about NP Mazda based on this experience.

My hubby and I went here looking to purchase a new car. I was referred by a friend to speak to Gary. While Gary was nice and personable, he acted like he could care less if we purchased a vehicle or not. He offered us no specials except an "either/or" where we could take 2k off the initial price or finance at 2.9 %. Its as if when we told him we were looking at a Mazda 2 and not something pricey, all his interest went away. Meanwhile, we actually ended up purchasing a 2014 Nissan Juke from Ancira Nissan which was MSRP at 4k MORE than the Mazda 2, because our Nissan salesperson offered us both deals and we walked financing at 1.9%. I think perhaps Gary judged us by looks as my husband is a landscaper and was very dirty and disheveled when we went to the lot. Guess that goes to show you cannot judge a book by its cover. My Mother In Law who purchased two Mazdas within 5 years from this location was so put off by how we were treated she will not be returning either. Very disappointing experience, but it turned out ok as I ended up getting a better car and better deal in the end.

Review for Service Department.

OIL CHANGE TIME!!!   Being back visiting in TX, I am still trying to reacquaint myself with the city etc and found myself searching online for various reviews on Mazda Dealerships in the area.  Thanks to my fellow YELPERS - North Park Mazda seemed to have the best response, so I made my calls a day ahead and got an appointment for the next morning with no problems.  The receptionist Elaine, said that it typically takes about 30 min for oil changes. Great! Sounds just like the excellent service I am used to in Southern CA.  

I arrived at NPM a little early, and right at the entrance there was a sign that said "oil change 30 minutes" YAY Im feeling better already!!! I drove up to the service port, got right in and was helped by my service tech Sergio.  He was polite, thorough and very helpful. When I asked him how long it would take for my car to be ready, he stated anywhere from an hour to an hour and fifteen.  That was a little bit of a let down, but hey - its sort of what you expect when getting your car serviced.

So off I went to the waiting area - where unfortunately there were no donuts (as a previous YELPER stated) haha - but that is no real problem.  The waiting areas were clean, comfortable and well lit, not too noisy with free wifi.  Awesome!  

I did a little work, ate my yogurt, and before I knew it - Sergio was coming out with my paperwork - it took 30 minutes on the dot!!! I was extremely pleased.

Needless to say, as a woman getting her car serviced, it can be a bit intimidating.  However the people at North Park Mazda make you feel comfortable, they explain everything, and go out of their way to be helpful.  Count this as a great experience and I will definitely pass on the positive word of mouth.

I had my Mazdaspeed3 serviced here several times and the customer waiting area was excellent!  There were plenty of comfy chairs and computers to keep you occupied while you wait.  Coffee and donuts were available free of charge as well as soda and water.  The work bay area was visible from large glass windows inside and was always clean and professional.  Joshua, my service tech was always thorough and attentive.  The only complaint I had is the wait time for an oil change (or something simple) was usually several hours.

I am incredibly dissatisfied with this dealership.  Although I love my 2008 Mazda3, this dealership is slowly making me never want to purchase another Mazda again. I brought my car in for new tires and an alignment and some warranty work (there was a leak on top of the engine). I was informed that the leak was covered and would cost me nothing, but they found a leak from one of the air conditioner hoses, since the hose is rubber, we would have to pay for it. THEN I get a call today and they tell me I need my transmission fluid changed. However, last year I had some warranty work done on my transmission and they should have changed the fluid then. This will cost me another $200 on top of the $700 I am paying for my tires/alignment and the $250 for the air conditioning leak. I am not upset about paying for the tires/alignment and air conditioning leak.  What is so irritating is that they should have done the transmission fluid when my car was in the shop last year (when the work would have been covered by warranty). Every time I go in to have something done on my car it turns into a huge headache. I will never bring my car back to them for ANY scheduled maintenance and I certainly will not return to this dealership to purchase another vehicle. I feel like they are trying to recoup the cost of the warranty work being done to my engine by making me pay for things that shouldn't even need to be fixed/changed. They have lost a customer and hopefully this review will make everyone who reads it second guess visiting this dealer.

I've been here a few times to have my oil changed on my Mazda. I basically only come when they send a coupon for a $19.95 oil change. I always schedule an appointment and always come on a weekday but end up waiting over an hour every time. They offer shuttle service but I don't like leaving my car and having to wait for someone to come pick me back up just for an oil change. The waiting area is comfortable and they offer free soda and coffee. The staff is also polite and helpful. I'd only take my car here for an oil change if they offer a discount. Otherwise, it's not worth the time or money.

On  April 11, 2012 I went in with an ad from another dealer for Mazda 2 Muhhamod was speaking to my boyfriend at the time. Told Muhhomad that I didn't want to waste his time or my time. I test drove 1 car and 1 car only the Mazda 2 with cruise control.  I informed Muhhomad that I would like to have the rock bottom quote on that car while he was backing the car back in the spot and at that time I opened the door to the Mazda 3 that was parked next to the 2.  I gave Muhhomad my business card with my email address on the back and told him to email me the quotes and left. I hadn't heard from Muhhomad so I sent him an email from his business card he handed me on April 12, 2012. I asked for the "quotes for the 2 mazdas I looked yesterday".

On April 14 I got an email from Julia that gave me the quote. I accepted on April 16. After getting all my financing, insurance and money together, I sent an email that I was coming in to pickup the car on April 18th.

My boyfriend and I went in and met with Julia (Muhhomad was off) and met with Jose for the title information and then we met with sales manger while the car was made ready. He took us out to the car and I thought it looked different, but I was excited anyway. I drove off to an appointment and noticed it didn't have the cruise on the steering wheel and wasn't the car I made the deal on. I immediately called and was notified to contact Jeff Akeryod. I did and he told me that he could give me a good deal on the other car and I said that's the car I purchased ..the car they gave me wasn't the car I purchased. He told me I could return it..I told him I was going to, that this was bait and switch. I was on my way and calmed down after talking to my family and called Jeff back. I told him I would keep the car but I wasn't happy. He said he would check the log to see if the car was checked out and I told him he would see that this one wasn't checked out by me since I told him I didn't test drive this car.

I was given a car that I didn't choose and was chosen for me. Since I did all my paperwork and time was spent I don't want to go through this process again, I'm keeping this vehicle. My bank would have to be notified, my insurance corrected and me refunded, I'm the one that has lost out.

I called for Omar today, and this was even more stressful. He all but told me I didn't test drive the car that I did test drive. I don't know what's going on with your logs..but I have a witness that was in the Mazda 2 that I drove. I was informed by Omar to come in and meet with him...I didn't appreciate our conversation. My integrity was questioned and this isn't my claim to correct, but your records to question.

I want your dealership to acknowledge that they made the error and apologize to me for putting me through this huge issue. You don't run a business this way.

BLUF: Wait time is excessive.

I came to drop my car off for a "Scheduled" oil change. The service rep said that it would be approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. A guy walks in and schedules a walk in oil change with the same wait time. There is no point in scheduling an appointment because they don't care to make that a priority. This is the last time I'm getting service here!

11/23/11     So, I brought my wife's car in because the check engine light came on. I made an appointment yesterday for today but that does not seem to make a difference, it is still going to take an hour and a half just to find out what MIGHT be wrong - that is before they fix it (what ever 'it' might be). As is my luck, I was notified that I am one month beyond my warranty. What that means to me is that it will cost $95 just to check out what is causing the light to be on. So, I am sitting in the comfortable waiting area sipping a soda from the free soda/coffee/hot chocolate bar while my son munches on some free popcorn. The feeling of helplessness I am experiencing as I subject myself to the overpriced service that has become the hallmark of dealership service departments cannot be lessened by the snacks, beverages or comfortable chairs upon which I can view Fox News (I'm sure if it gets too much I can ask to have the channel changed). I suppose a loaner vehicle would have made this a better experience - at least I would be free to travel and I might feel better about the $95 diagnostic charge.

This is THE WORST SERVICE CENTER IN TOWN! avoid going there at all costs. i regret getting a mazda because of the service people that work there. they are unhelpful and RUDE. i cannot wait to get rid of this POS car so i can get a different brand just so i dont have to deal with these jerks. the next time i need anything for my car i am going to world car mazda! that is where i bought my car and thats where i should be going this place is a joke.

Let me start out by telling you that I would probably not be reviewing a car dealership if I didn't absolutely LOVE my car. I drive a Mazda 3 SP23. That's the sweet semi-pimped-out version of the regular 3 with leather seats and...

Ok. Sorry. Point is, I love my car. So you'll need to temper this review with that fact.

Not only did North Park Mazda on San Pedro in San Antonio sell me the best car I've ever had, they also have a solid service department, that seems to go further to satisfy you than any other service department I've dealt with. The North Park family of dealerships has always had a high standard of excellence, a fact proven by their repeated top-in-the-nation recognition for service year after year with their Lincoln/Mercury dealership. But, in my opinion, the Mazda dealership deserves as much or more recognition.

One fact that puts them over the top for me, too, is their spacious "waiting room" that more resembles a Bass Pro styled living room and outdoor cafe than a waiting room. Four dining tables within easy reach of outlets and with three comfortable chairs each; complementary cappuccino, soft drinks, AM pastries and muffins; and four plush leather chairs that face full-time cable news at a sensible volumne. For a buzzing environment, you'd be surprised how peaceful the space is. It's sort of cool, too that this area has large windows that face the cars in mid-repair, so you can keep an eye on your car while it's being worked on.

I'm yet to find a dealership with genuine smiling faces, but North Park Mazda is about as close as I've seen and the facilities more than make up for any blandness on that front.
