Reviews on Cavender Buick GMC

Corey McDonald at the Cavender GMC West location is a good guy. He was professional, courteous, and always responsive to my questions. There was no hassle dealing with Corey.

They've got a good stock of used vehicles, and Corey treated me as if I were buying a new vehicle. And their waiting area is really nice. Great specialty coffee, snacks, and drinks.

A few years ago, I purchased a certified pre-owned 2009 Chevy Malibu from this dealership, with GAP insurance.  In fairness, the purchase was smooth, but recent service has been a nightmare.

I brought my Malibu in for routine maintenance in early Sept 2014.  The maintenance staff crashed my vehicle into another car two days later.  No satisfactory explanation has been given for why my vehicle was driven off the lot at ramming speed.

When informed of the accident, I was given the impression that the damage was minor, and the only issue was waiting on Cavender's insurance to okay repair work.

Several days after this, Cavender's insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss.

At this point, more than a month has passed since the service department entrusted to maintain my vehicle destroyed it, and the lien holder still has not been paid in full, being instead nickel-and-dimed by Cavender's own insurance company, with the GAP insurance still waiting to step forward.

We just returned from buying a 2015 GMC truck to replace our 2014 that we purchased from another local dealer.
Cavender made things simple and quick instead of the drama at the other dealer.
I had read the reviews and these folks are good as the reviews said.
I am so glad we walked out of the other dealer and ended at their door.

Seriously the best dealership I've experienced. I've been coming here for 2 years, now, and it's always exceptional service. I like that they keep you with the same service advisor so they know the history of what your car has been through. They give you a FREE courtesy vehicle which saves a ton of money. I will be buying a new car in the next year and I'm definitely going to be coming here just because I know they will take care of me after the purchase. Come here if you have a GM vehicle!

Wow... haven't had car service this great in many, many years.  I had a recall notice on an older car (10 year Pontiac Vibe) and found this place via the web by zip code as a GM repair shop.  I scheduled online, took the car in, had my car back repaired in about 1.5 hours - got a call it was ready while I was eating lunch next door.  Super nice people, super service with no annoying upselling, easy emailing of appointment confirmations - flawless transaction and my recall was no charge.  Thanks, Cavender Buick!  My Rep was appointed via the web and he was super nice to work with - Brian.  Five stars for being a great service provider to a woman that knows nothing about cars other than get in and drive.

We just bought a Buick LaCrosse there and had a great experience. I can highly recommend Dave Knight -- friendly and no hard sell. He respected our time and answered our questions. A very different experience from buying cars than I've had before. No skeeviness. The entire process went quickly and smoothly. I highly recommend this place.

Also consider my husband (a lawyer) has sued car dealerships many times (he does employment law/discrimination work) and HE liked them. So, that's about the best endorsement I can give you.

As good as it gets!  The service is always as quoted and done in a very professional manner. One time, our bill was quoted as $2000; however, sensing apprehension, they lowered it to $1600, which we appreciated.

I want to talk about the waiting area: There are about 20 or so leather, oversized chairs to sit in. Magazines, newspapers, and two 40 inch flat screen TVs provide entertainment. For free beverages, there is bottled water, juice, sodas, and even an automatic latte/hot chocolate/espresso machine, which tastes just like any coffee shop you may visit. To go with the coffee--sometimes, they have donuts and other pastries. "Cavenders is first class service!"

We came in on a weekend and were looking for a GMC Terrain. We met up with a gentleman named Jeremiah. He was very nice, polite and had his list in hand ladies and gentleman!

We test drove a 4 cyl. and although we have since ruled out the GMC Terrain all together (only has 151 hp and the 6 cyl has a 301 hp). We decided to go back to getting another Toyota for our needs. But Jeremiah was a great sales person. Nobody wants to deal with sales people but this guy was not pushy, he wasn't fake, he wasn't trying to be anything he wasn't. He was prepared. He showed us the new 2014 and showed us what they had in stock in used GMC Terrains as well. HE had the prices on his printed out list with Vin#'s year models etc. He had it together. We visited with another dealership here in RR and had a bad experience and it ended up ruling out GMC altogether.. Not just for the service but for our needs we have decided to go with another Toyota car.. no suv for us.

I cant give more than 3 stars because we didnt actually purchase anything here but I'm only basing off our one meeting.

I will not be coming back for service. This was the second time we'd been here--thinking the first time we had a poor experience was the service advisor's bad day--and ww were punished for it. From my first interaction with this, a different advisor from the first time, btw, he was either smug, dismissive, intolerate or outright passive-aggressive. He even rolled his eyes multiple time while speaking to my wife about some specifics--questions and details about a problem she was experiencing. I can't know if the service itself was done correctly but this utter lack of customer treatment does make one doubt overall quality.

My car battery died after 5 long years of faithful service. I discovered this at 12:30 PM today. My husband unhooked the battery and put it on a charger long enough to get enough juice to drive to our nearby GMC dealer, Cavender GMC. We left the car in Tony Perez's capable hands around 1:30 PM. The car was fixed, serviced, washed and ready for pick-up at 4:30 PM. We were home by 5:00 PM. It doesn't get much better than that.

Great Customer service, always a pleasure having my vehicle serviced at Cavender Buick GMC.  David Lust (Service Rep) is always willing to go the extra mile and tell you there are others things that need to be serviced however, he doesn't force you to take care of the issue then, he just recommends it and annotates it for your next service.  I always received my vehicle back clean.  I recommend this dealership for all your service needs.

Worst experience ever!! We found our vehicle online. We are from out of town. We negotiated a fair price for our trade in and for purchase of new vehicle. We had preapproval financing. The dealership assured us that everything was final and that our new ride was ready to go. All we needed to do was trade keys. Then "David Hagen" became involved. He had the typical car salesman arrogance and tried to renegotiate the deal. He wanted to give less on the trade in and try to get more $$ out of us. They lied and cheated, very unethical buisness practices.

Horrible service people in the body shop. I asked them to diagnose a battery prior to making a $2,700 repair.  After saying they would do it first thing in the morning, and then the following two days saying the same thing, they never did diagnose a simple request.

Felt like they wanted to get the big ticket item and move on, without actually looking into what the customer wanted. If you want to support Chevrolet and American repair shops with your financing and your time is not worth dirt, then please take your car there.  They will do a great job of taking days away from your life, taking care of the expensive items to boost their bottom line, and spinning stories to  about how your car being taken care of.

I was in a rush late for an appointment with a dead battery - Bob and his support team did all they could to get me in immediately and out in least amount of time required.

Good people, good service, good facility.  The customer waiting area is amazing.  Bob Dowsland was very helpful and knowledgeable.  My bill was less than expected and everything was done properly and clean when the car was returned to me.  I will return when I need more service!

Worst service and worst car I have ever owned. The dealer doesn't answer questions, doesn't perofrm recall work when taken in repeatedly and everything fails prematurely on the vehicle. Can I put it in any simpler terms? This is coming from a guy who thought GM was turning themselves ariound in terms of quality. Some things will never change.
