Reviews on Volvo Star Motor Cars

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE CONSIDERING GETTING YOUR CAR FIXED HERE.

This is my personal experience and the experience of a few others.

It's pretty simple the, the people who work at star motor cars are CROOKS. They will tell you that they have competitive prices. This is a lie. They're coast of labor is about $150 per hour. You can get a much better rate a Silvos ($30 per hour).

When I went in there for a basic tune up and to get a part that had been order 3 months prior. They told me what would be done to the car. It was a basic oil Change, they would add ad-blue to my Diesel engine and test the brakes. Instead they replaced everything. Including my windshield wipers that were less than a year old. Charged me $70 bucks for the new ones and did all this other stuff that they did not specify or chose not to include when telling me. All in all the job coast me a whopping $1,500 bucks. $750 of which was for labor. I was furious to say the least. Oh and that part I had ordered from 3 months ago was still not in. I mentioned this to a friend and he said they were notorious for taking they're time getting parts so that when the part/ parts arrived your car would be off warranty and you would have to pay them for it.

On a separate occasion I had a nail in my tire and needed it repaired or replaced. The nail was in the center of the tire. I soon realized that run flat tires can be repaired if the nail is in the middle thanks to discount tire who repaired my last run flat for FREE! Star motors cars did not. Instead they charged me for a brand new tire which was overly priced at $350 and guess how much I paid for labor $150. A whopping $500 bucks for a tire that could have been freely repaired. Only if I had known!!

I have also herd from a co-worker of mine that he need to have some wiring re-done in his car. Instead of putting new wiring in, they steamed the old wires to make them look new and charged him for new wiring and labor. He noticed when the car was still having the same problems and brought it to a different mechanic and he told him that the wiring was old and needed to be replaced. I was like wow, it's not just me they f-over I guess then.

I've also herd from another that he went to high school with the owners son of star motor cars and that he was a real bad egg in highschool. Always cutting up screwing around. I just laughed and though well I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Only to learn that his son now works there. I laughed even harder.

All and all this dealership is horrible. They over charge and lie to you. Or that was mine and other expletives.

Silvos or greenway Mercedes offers much more competitive rates. Silvos is by far the best since the guy who works on the cars is German and worked for Mercedes in Germany.

What a refreshing nice break from most over crowded dealerships. The Volvo service dept on I-10 is too busy with poor service and lots of attitude, so we have tried this place twice, and we are very pleased. This will be our new dealership for our Volvo.

Expect top notch service, free easy rental service, and an honest, educational mechanic salesman named Mauricio. Down to earth, did not get pushy. All smiles, we will return!

Love this place. Friendly staff in sales, and service. Always going above, and beyond.

Funny, my first "First" isn't a restaurant but a Volvo dealership service department.  I've used the service department for over two years and have always felt they were honest and fair with repairs.  I recommend dealing with Manford, who has saved me money on repairs in the past.  Sometimes appointments are necessary, so call ahead if you  need service.  They also send out coupons which I've used for free parts and discounts.  They really don't have loner cars but have a Thrifty rental location on site for a nominal fee, I think it's $6-$10 a day, you just pay the tax.
