I had purchased the American Best Car Care Plan punch card and used the card just a few times and today I was told they no longer redeem the card. This decision isn't honest and they could have at least told current card holders that they would "expire starting 2015" even though my card's term and agreements were to be expired on 2016. At the very least they could at least honor the card and cancel the sale of the cards if they had any reason they weren't happy with the deal.

Case in short, they cheaped out and WILL lose any further business from me and a large amount of others.

Today I went there and was told they no longer honor the American Best Car Care Plan punch card even my card won't expire until 2016.

Even they decided not to be part of this deal, they should still honor customers who currently has a valid punch card. A business needs to be honest to thrive, or they will lose customer soon.

So Gulfgate Dodge only gives one free oil change on a new vehicle purchase!?! So, I decided to check out Texas Auto since they were pretty close to the house and had a coupon of course. Best customer service ever. Most places do not accept the coupon with synthetic oil but this place does with a small up charge. I've been here several times before deciding to give my review just in case things changed but service is consistent.

I've only been for oil changes and can't say anything about other services. Service reps are very friendly and knowledgable. Free wifi, popcorn, water, coffee while you wait. Nice clean waiting area with play area for kiddos.

i've only gone to the service department at TX auto, i got a punch card for a bunch of oil changes and other services for this place on groupon.

they're usually pretty slow.  plan on at least an hour for an oil change. they've alerted me to other service issues that i might want to check out but never push me to buy anything.

they have this god awful pedal car in the kids play area that is as loud as a freight train.  i hope to god that there are no kids playing in the waiting area when you go in--or hopefully they'll read this review and get rid of the stupid car!

Do not EVER buy a car from this dealership.  First off they tried to switch the rims on me thinking I wouldn't notice when I was picking it up as I had originally bought it on eBay and drove 4 hours to get it.  They continued to try to lie and say no that's the rims that have been on it, until I pulled up pictures I thankfully saved on my phone.  They tried to even pull up their website where they had already changed the picture but I pulled up their eBay page and showed them the original auction I won and proved them wrong.  They reluctantly changed the rims back to the factory rims (they had put some god awful aftermarket rims on it).  This was three years ago.  I had many things break during ownership of the car but thankfully I bought the extended 3 year warranty.  It was rusted beyond belief and I couldn't believe they'd even sell a car like this but that was my own fault for not checking the underside of the vehicle before buying it.  I decided that I was not going to drive the car with no warranty so I found something I liked and was going to trade in the car.  I expected a good bit out of the car since I bought it for 35k before TT&L 3 years ago.  The dealership I was trading it in to pulled the VIN and low and behold, this car had two reports.  One was a false mileage warning.  The second was major front end collission damage where the car had to be towed away.  Needless to say the dealership I was trading the car into will only give me 18k trade in!! The salesman sucked, the car sucked, and this dealership is shady.  DO NOT GO THERE!!!

I bought a beautiful car from this dealership and I love it to pieces. When arriving I met with my car salesman, Gerson, who was very friendly and just a doll in handling my wish for a car. The rest of the staff, not so much. All they care about is selling you a car for an outrageous amount of money. They will make you sit hours on end. Good thing I was obsessed with the car or I would have left. I also gave them a not so pretty rating and reported them to the BBB. If you can go elsewhere for a car, PLEASE DO. Save yourself the time and disrespect you get from this company.

I failed to mention that they sold me a car and let me drive it for a whole entire month, I get a call and they ask me when I was bringing my car back in because I was not approved. What?! You tell me after a month and after signing my contract that the car really isn't mine? Also, they sold me the car at a different price then what they were initially going to give me. BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS.

I was a little bit intimidated about going to another pushy car dealer. We have heard good things about this particular dealership and I gave it a try. Alex waddle was the man who helped us. Alex, had very strong knowledge of their products and more importantly was patient enough with us to allow us to look at all the different vehicles. They get too big thumbs up from me! Alex, thank you for all the help you will get our business in the future! :-)

They are ebay and craigslist sellers and nothing more.  They have hundreds if not thousands of dollars of hidden fees waiting on you to arrive.  They kept asking me to use a debit card to hold the truck, which I advised that I only use credit cards and never debit.  When I arrived I over heard the sells people talking very poorly about the customers.  Wife made a comment right then and there "Your not going to buy from these guys, they don't seem honest".  How right she was.  Our salesman tried to convince us that the price was thousands of dollars higher than what we had already seen online and talked about.  When I reminded him of the price he said I was wrong  and he would go check it again.  While he was gone I checked it on my phone and found they had lowered the price again about $500 dollars.  During the test drive he told me that they had about $600 dollars of fees.  $300 is for cleaning the vehicle.  When I said the truck is caked in mud from top to bottom so maybe you guys can drop that fee, he said no everybody gets charged that.  Anyway he returns and says yea you were right but quotes the old price and not the new lower price.  Manager comes by and quotes the out the door price which is thousands higher, even with the fees included it should not have been anything like what he was talking.  All you get from these guys is empty promises because the pictures will not match the actual product that you purchase.  Not to mention some one was in the office next to us trying to cell software to track all your browsing history once you visit there site.  They were talking about using it to help set the price you would pay for a vehicle to help them make more money.  Not the kind of people I would ever do business with.  Oh the truck I was looking at had some 100+ inspection on it.  When they put it up on a lift, it was obvious due to the thick mud covering areas they could not have checked any of the vital areas.  Total rip if you ask me

I bid on one of their cars online.  They don't accept my bid, no biggie, right?  Days later I get an email saying they will accept my bid.  I call and say, I am still interested, when can I pick it up.  'O it sold'   'Really, I say,  I just got the email'   They say,  "We have other stuff" ,  'I did not call for other stuff'   I ask for a manager.  They transfer me several times and the man with the accent who picks up says...I don't know...but I am trying to help you....YOU ARE?  I don't feel helped!!!!

Bait and Switch Crappy Place!!!

From here I'm filing a complaint on ebay.  Do not annoy me...You will be very sorry.

This review is only for their service department.

I purchased a car care Groupon about a year ago where it was $59 for 10 free oil changes and a bunch of other free things (brake checks, tire rotations, 1/2 hour of labor, etc) at Texas Auto.  I've now gone there a few times to get my oil changed and my brakes checked once when they were squeaking a bit.

I've had great experiences each time in their service department.  The staff is friendly and attentive, and haven't come off as pushy.  Each time I've gone, I walked in without an appointment and the whole thing only took about 20-30 minutes, which is definitely acceptable for me.  I get full synthetic oil, which ends up costing me about $6 (since I pay the difference over the regular oil price that's quoted on the care care Groupon).  Definitely a good deal!

When I got my brakes checked (for free with the Groupon), the technician inspected the brakes and drove my car around their parking lot a few times.  He then explained to me how they looked great to him, and that he's actually seen a lot of Ford Focuses from my year with squeaky brakes, but not to worry about it.  He did the old "drive in reverse and pulse the brakes a few times" trick, which seemed to help subdue the squeaking a bit.   I was worried going into the shop that they might try to use my free brake check as a means to claim something was terribly wrong with them, and was relieved to get an honest response out of them.

This most recent time during my oil change, my battery cranking amps registered a little low on their test.  Rather than try to push a new battery on me, the service lady said that it seemed a little low, but that it shouldn't be low due to its age and recommended talking to Ford since my car would still be under their standard warranty.

I haven't had any experience with their sales department, so I can't comment on that aspect of their business at all.  However, their service department is definitely worth considering based on my experiences there.

I've been looking at getting a new (used) car.  And come to find out, Texas Auto Online has the model that I am looking for sitting on their lot.

After haggling with the sales guy, I talk them down about $2k off their asking price.  I feel good - everything checks out on the car and the sales dude says it's immaculate.

So, I take a day off from work and hike all the way out there from Austin, TX.  Get there and it was immediately clear to me that the car had been in an accident and was "repaired" very shabbily.  Trim hanging off the driver side door.  Rear bumper was super loose.  Awesome. 3.5 drive there.

I take it over to have the car inspected and sure enough, the auto exam guy says the same thing.  He expands on that and says that there was a "severe oil leak on the car."

Well holy crap.  What the heck kind of operation is this selling cars with severe oil leaks?

So, I go back to the dealership and tell the guy that I want my $500 deposit (they did refund) back and that I am not interested in this vehicle.

Well, I had driven 3.5 hours to get there, so I figure I would sit down and see if they have anything else.  He pulls up a listing for another car, same model, fewer miles, but base everything.  He then takes my keys (to my car) and disappears for 30 minutes trying to get this new car out.

Meanwhile, I wait at his desk, held prisoner in the auto dealership while rush hour in Houston comes creeping up.  Finally they get the car out.  It was more then I wanted to spend and they were going to give me half a handy on my trade-in.  Far less than other dealerships were going to offer me.

After humoring him and waiting around for another 45 minutes, I finally had the receptionist call him to get my keys back and then left.

No thanks. This place sucks.

How can this company not have any Yelp reviews yet?  I went there to try to trade and get a car.  Their selection of luxury cars is one of the largest in town.  I couldn't buy at the time, but they still took the time to show me around and let me know what it would take to buy my dream car, a BMW M5.

They moved to the Clear Lake area, but I intend on going back as soon as possible.

There is only one word for how my husband and I were treated here...ridiculous! As we walked in we were swarmed by circling vultures wanting to sale us a car. We were told to ask for Johnny Allen so we did. All of the other vultures were pissed! We sat down to talk and he was already telling us about a new Jeep he just got in and how much we needed it. This was to be my car...if we bought.

Well, we go out to look at the Jeep and the seat will not move forward. My legs couldn't reach the pedal. Instead of showing us something different, he decided to drive us around in it. Not to mention the price was way to high. $16000 for a 2004 Jeep with 64,000 miles on it.

When we got back to the dealership, he basically had all the paperwork ready for us to sign. We did not feel comfortable about this at all! We told him we needed some time to think and I thought he was going to throw something. We proceeded to leave as quickly as possible, but that was not the end.

For the next several weeks...not days...he called everyday harassing us. Even when we told him we didn't want the Jeep, he still called. We told him to stop calling...period. It was like we said nothing. It was definitely ridiculous and the epitome of harassment!

Needless to say, we will never go back to this dealership again!!!
