Reviews on Porsche of West Houston

My mother in law recently moved to Texas. She asked for some help purchasing her next vehicle. She has always wanted a Cayenne. I reached out to the General Manager Kevin Lind so we could meet with him and look at some in stock vehicles. We walked in and were greeted by their friendly receptionist. Right when we walked in there was a White Cayenne sitting on the floor. It was perfect, just what we she was looking for. Ended up working with Jorge in Sales and he had great knowledge of the vehicle & its features. They gave us a very fair deal and made the transaction seamless. We ended up taking delivery on Saturday and everything was all set and ready to go. Thank you so much for the great experience Kevin & Jorge! When she's ready for another one we will return because of the great service. Rene who did the paperwork was also very friendly and explained the financing and options in "Non Car Guy Talk." Overall a great experience! Keep up the good work! You could tell everyone in the dealership enjoyed their job and was more than willing to help.

Alan, I know that there are three locations there which all employees work between.

I want to make sure it is clear that it was not Tri that I had a problem with, but the failure of management to effectively communicate with its staff. At the point where Daren started raising his voice in the lobby of the *Porsche* dealership, we asked to speak in an office for the sake of discretion.

It was when Daren decided to yell and become aggressive that we decided to leave the office and walk away.

He proceeded to chase us through the *Porsche* lobby and caused a scene in front of current and potential clients. He followed us and yelled remarks all the way to our car.

Once it was made clear that the car was supposedly taken by an employee, in the office, I made it clear that I was walking away. He persued me all the way to my car to prove a point and his behavior was the opposite of professional.

To top this off, the salesman called me several hours later to let me know the employee had credit issues and was not able to purchase the car. Unfortunate, because I came with all cash.

My best advice is that you address your employee and tell him to keep his anger issues out of the office. I told him I would be posting my review online, and he proceeded to yell at me that it was not his fault; and to make sure that it did not say that in my review.

It may or may not have been his fault not knowing about the potentially "sold" car, but there was a much bigger issue in my eyes: A customer should NEVER be spoken to this way, much less any person. So it was the behavior of this company's staff which prompted me to write this review.

Russ, from Audi West Houston(*same company*), contacted me the following day to apologize. I appreciate somebody taking the time to make right. I do not, however, appreciate upper management like Daren thinking he can just deploy those under him to do his dirty work.

I drove quite a distance to not even look at the car and be treated with disrespect. I think it's the right of the public to know how business is conducted here. I know Daren works at all locations, and I certainly will not remove my review.

Have a nice day.

I just purchased a Q5 from this dealership.  It is the 4th car I have purchased or leased from this exceptional dealership.  This dealership never fails to do an exceptional job and this latest experience confirmed why I continue to do business with Audi West Houston.  The salesman I worked with - Paul Petticrew - was a joy to work with.  He was very professional, a great listener, customer oriented and did not pressure me. In fact, he was very patient while I worked through the process of deciding on the car to purchase.  He made several suggestions based on what I said I wanted in a car and then found the perfect car for me. He kept in touch via text or email every step of the way and has already scheduled a follow-up appointment to see if I have any questions about the car.   He is truly the best car salesperson I have ever worked with.

It's always a HUGE headache to get someone to answer the phone, especially when trying to speak to someone in the service department (I usually I end up getting connected to an answering machine). I think they need to hire additional help to better serve the customer.

So horrible! I can get better service at a Ford dealership. But I own a Porsche - not a Ford.

I have tried all week to get someone on the phone. The receptionist is snotty and very unhelpful - repeatedly transferring me to voice mail, even after requesting to speak to the general manager. Instead she transferred me to a random voice mail. Geesh!

I guess it must be great for them to have so much business they can treat customers this way. This dealership is 5 miles from me, but I will have to try a place much further. Bummer!

Don't waste your time/effort at Porsche WH

ok - so we all know at lease 20 people who have had MISERABLE experiences with dealerships.  OK, scratch that - 2,000 people.  I just moved to Houston and as I know absolutely zero people, I flip over to Yelp to determine who is worth using or, more so, taking a risk with.  This is my first Porsche dealer experience as well as my first Porsche.  So I don't know what the "norm" is...but I DO know BMW and Mercedes have always treated me quite well.  I just met Sandy in the Service Dept and I will say, she is VERY kind and VERY helpful. I have a suspicion she help simply because that's how she works, NOT because she has to).   Personally, I prefer working with those who are just good people and go out of their way to help others vs those whereas "it's my job".
More info to follow...should be interesting to see how Porsche compares to Mercedes/Beemer.

This is for Cody in the service department specifically.  Brought my '06 911 in for some warranty questions surrounding a water pump seal that was starting to weep, if not actually leaking, and a notchy synchro on my fifth gear, that was not even really an issue if I was very deliberate about my shifting.  Water pump was replaced under warranty without question.  Transmission took a little longer to diagnose, but it was found that there was a small defect in the mechanism that wound up getting me a new transmission from Porsche.  Cody was very communicative, and I felt like he was on my side in the process of dealing with Porsche North America.  Ask for or wait for Cody when you go in for service at this dealership - I won't name other names, but suffice to say the other service associates I've met at this dealer are not the same and would cost this dealer some stars in my rating; however such was the service level received from Cody that I give this full five star rating.

Bought Cayenne from Will Spires. Awesome experience. Love it!

I was completely ready to buy a new Boxster, this dealer had one at a good price and I called twice to verify that the price was correct. They called me and I made an appointment to test drive the car the next day. Then I called back to be sure it was an automatic before I drove 200 miles to the dealer. It turns out that they didn't have the car, but they did have one that cost $20,000 more. Wouldn't touch these weasels with a stick.

Just purchased my Cayenne S here last month which I was referred to by my car broker.  Carlos, the sales manager was great to work with. The whole experience was very carefree and laid back from beginning to end.  He even set up the tinting/3m bra for me.  Gave me a Carrera S cabriolet as a loaner too which was sweet.  I will definitely buy my next Porsche here.

(This review is about their sales and financing; I had no contact with their service department)

Saw that they had a car in stock that I was interested in. Contacted three of their sales people via email, never got a reply, even though I left them my full contact info. Not by email or phone.

I also contacted their financing department and even submitted a financing application (just in case) -- Gloria (from that department) did call me to verify my info and tell me she would call me back; well, it's been weeks and she never did. Even if was bad news, leaving somebody hanging like that is not cool.

I've worked with many car dealerships over the years and I never had such an experience where apparently they don't want to "help you" by selling you one of their cars. Very concerning and I'd recommend staying away from them.

Suffice it to say that after I gave up on these guys and called emailed another dealership (almost identical vehicle) I got callbacks almost immediately and got everything (financing and everything) done in less than 4 hours.

OK, I'm new to Houston but having dealt with multiple Porsche dealers and service businesses, I can assure you THIS doesn't happen very often.  I had a brake light go out.  Stopped at chain parts store and picked up the replacement bulb and installed it, still didn't work.  Checked the manual, it of course says go to the dealer for service.  Great@#4%!  Any Porsche owner will tell this means a long drawn out appointment and expensive repair for something dumb.  Not this time, I just stopped by Porsche West on my lunch break and told them what had happened.  I told them I didn't have an appointment but if they had a technician that could just take a quick look, that would be awesome.  Turns out the bulb (new one) was bad and  they have it replaced and I was on my way in minutes for less than 20 bucks.  I was stunned.  Of course you should always make an appointment for service, but it's nice to know that in a pinch the people at Porsche West care more about you enjoying your car than service bureaucracy.  Well done guys, you've earned a new customer.

Very positive experience in my first visit to Porsche of West Houston. Service person was excellent and the general attitude was all about the customer. Provided a loaner car without question. All in all, especially for a dealer experience, very positive.
