Reviews on Northside Lexus

Awesome customer service and ambiance. The whole experience was top notch here. My salesperson was David Thompson who was patient and super friendly. I bought a pre-owned RX from him and he, a long with the person in the business office made the experience quick and painless. They didn't try to sell me a bunch of back-end products I didn't need like they do at so many other dealerships.

Unfortunately, I only had my RX for a couple of months since I was involved in two car accidents right after I got it. I took my car to get repaired at their collision center both times. I can honestly say that the service I received here was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a business. I dealt with Omar Gaspar who was so detail oriented and communicative with me throughout the whole repair process. He went above and beyond all my expectations. My car was deemed a total loss after they inspected it. Another questionable repair shop had told me the vehicle was repairable. I'm so glad I decided to get a second opinion from here. They were honest and told me the vehicle had sustained structural damage and they could not recommend repair. I would have been driving in an unsafe vehicle if it weren't for the honesty of Omar and his team!

Don't hesitate to buy a car from this dealership. And if you're unfortunate enough to get into an accident, at least you'll have an awesome team to repair it!

Well, I bought a used car from them this weekend. The guy that was my main point of contact made me feel like I was back in high school- he was dressed really well, young, attractive, and if he had taken me to prom, he would have been the guy who wished he had another date the entire time. Don't get me wrong, they were nice, but very apathetic. Probably because I wasn't buying a new car. Who knows? The dealership, overall, was very nice. The financing part was smooth, but mainly because I didn't push further negotiations. When I tried, I was very quickly shot down. I was also told if my car had broken the next day, then, "Oh well, your car breaks the next day- you can't bring it back here." It was "as-is," but there was no coming back, should there be an issue, even within 24 hours. So overall, I'll give this dealership a quarter thumbs up and a big fat, "Meh."

Highly recommend this place. Needham, the salesperson, was very helpful and cooperative.

Good experience with service department. Jeff Petepher helped me with my Lexus. I didn't even buy my Lexus from this dealership & they patched my tire and did some work on my A/C for FREE!! Who does that?! I'll definitely be taking it back to Jeff for any future maintenance.

This review is long in the making, as I'd had a relationship with Northside Lexus since I bought my car from them in 2001.  I'll rate them individually according to their different elements, for once you've bought the car you're pretty much done with sales; service and the body shop -- and their performance over the years -- is a whole other story.

A brief interjection before I begin (since we all know this anyway and I've bought just a few cars):  sales works with the car itself (and sometimes financing).  Luxury cars are in a class by themselves.  Once purchased, though, service is what keeps you coming back . . . and builds your loyalty.  If the two do not work cohesively, you have a fractured model.

Such is the model of Northside Lexus --

Sales:  Purchasing our 2001 RX300 was sweet.  I can't say anything other than that.  In fact, we were given a written price quote in December of 2000 and they honored that on a new RX300 in March, 2001.  Doesn't get any better than that.  Five BIG stars.  They may be different now, but back then I felt like I had died and gone to heaven.

Service:  Initially this dealership was like walking into Eden.  Free loaner car, service appointments kept to the exact moment, cars washed and detailed, pristine waiting room and amenities while you were there -- who could ask for anything more?  Service was always done exactly as expected with no complaints.  I kept coming back.  But as the years wore on and the price of regular service got steeper, the fluff remained but the substance wore dreadfully thin.

Oh yes, the chocolate chip cookies and the free wi-fi was still there.  But a simple oil change on my car proved to be a 6-week nightmare and beyond:

With increasing age on my vehicle, I knew I now need to start returning to Lexus to get my servicing done.  First trip back after a bit goes without event, as does the second, other than I'm given an arm's length list of items that need to be replaced on it (all to the tune of multiple thousands of dollars).  Yeah, move on.  Third or so oil change is the killer (and keep in mind that an oil change and tire rotation is about $100):  I go to pick the car up and upon driving about 1/4 mile after I leave, white smoke is bellowing out of my tailpipe.  By this time I'm on the feeder road to the freeway, so I need to continue until I can loop back around back to the dealership.  But, alas -- the check engine light starts flashing and the car starts stalling.  I clocked that I drove 3 to 4 miles and the car had stalled 4 times in that brief period, all with the check engine light flashing on and off.

When I get back to Northside Lexus, they take it back and inform me that they've accidentally "double-filled" my oil -- due to a "power failure" earlier in the day which caused their oil "auto-fill" to malfunction.  Holy Mother of God.  No worries, they tell me.  They drained all of the oil and filled it to the correct amount.  On my way I go.

Except they forgot:  I have a close relative who's a certified auto mechanic.  And he starts to tell me what's going to go wrong.  And sure enough, it does.

Check engine light goes on and off repeatedly.  Repeated calls and trips to the dealership prove fruitless, as they deny anything is connected to the overfill of my oil.  I absolutely would not take "no" for an answer:  but, it took Northside Lexus  SIX WEEKS to admit their error and finally replace the O2 sensor.  Eventually I knew the catalytic converter would go out, too -- although Lexus never admitted that.  But after that bad oil change, one thing after another started to go down under with my car.  I couldn't trust it anymore and I was so disenchanted --

I traded in my RX300 several months later for a different manufacturer vehicle.  I never considered another Lexus, and chances are I will never purchase another one.  Service:  you lost me, Lexus:  negative 3 stars.

Body shop:  I didn't have any accidents with my car (oh I loved it so), but it did happen to be the victim of "industrial paint overspray" due to construction at my school.  The body shop cleaned and detailed all of that crap off of my finish like it had never even happened.  Shout out to the crew in the Body Shop -- awesome job:  5 stars.

Overall rating  to Northside Lexus -- 2.  You all get what you deserve, for "You are what you do, not what you say you'll do."

I've had a lot of different car and been to a lot of different dealerships, but I've never seen one That takes so much pride in being the best.

Service, organization, food/drink, wifi, comfort of seats, tv... The list goes on and on. Not a better service experience in Houston.

I have always come here to get my cars. Cristian the salesman has always treated me good and I never felt like I needed to bargain with them. I would always get my cars here. Used or new.

Awesome Dealer. I've purchased my last 6 vehicles from them and some of them are not even Lexus models. Great selection, Clean used cars and outstanding customer service. Wont shop anywhere else.

My fiancé and I just went in yesterday to see if they had a specific IS for sale.  I felt as if we were stereotyped from point we stepped on the lot.  The sales guy didn't really bother to tell us anything but how uncommon a white exterior with a black or grey leather is to come by.  After we got back home, we found they have one exactly like we want but it must not have been at their dealership.  No offer to test drive or hey maybe we can order it for you...just very rude.  I will never buy a car from that dealer based solely on the sales guy we dealt with.

Great customer service and free yummy hot chocolate on a cold day is the icing on the cake!!!

Recently had my oil changed here along with a general checkup (IS250).
Pros: awesome free car wash, nice staff, paper report of all items checked/tested
Cons: Took 2+ hours, service rep knew less about the maintenance than I did

First of all, I love my car. Its a Lexus GS and it just does everything I ask of it without fail. However, because of the experiences I've had with the dealer, I will never buy another Lexus again. Its been one aggravation after another. First my headlights went out, first the right then the left. They replaced the bulbs and within a month they were both out again. The second fix stuck and its been a year. Then the water pump was leaking, which they replaced the first time the bulbs went out. A few months pass and during my next oil change they notice the water pump is still leaking. Replaced again and to this day it doesn't leak. When I inspected the car myself by getting underneath I was upset at what I saw. There was a mess everywhere. The coolant dries to a pink colored crust and it was all over the underside of the engine. They couldn't be bothered to clean up the leaking coolant fluid. I noticed one of the headlights was slightly misaligned after the bulb fiasco was done. I informed my service adviser and his opinion was that yes, the alignment was off but these were self leveling headlights so there is no adjustment. He was unable to replace the headlight because the car was not showing any malfunction codes. So despite being able to visually see the defect, because the car didn't reflect it he was unwilling/unable to do anything about it. I have no clue how these clowns became #1 in customer service, with their half ass repairs and apathetic attitude, but I'm going back to BMW, where they cater to actual drivers and not the lowest common denominators of the luxury car market.
