History

Established in 1973.

The Goodson Auto Group added Honda to it's existing brands in 1973. Now the Honda brand is the only brand in Houston that the Goodson Auto Group operates. Purchased in 2001 by the Penske Automotive Group and the name changed to Honda of Spring in 2011. Honda of Spring operates one of the largest Honda facilities in the nation. I didint buy my car from this location but i had my car serviced here. The customer service is excellent and all the staff members were very friendly and helpful. Ill definitely return to this location for future servicing need.

Service here is always great! I like the upfront pricing and the honesty. Even if it's more than i want to spend, they still let you know so you're not blind sided at checkout! That's one of the main reasons i continue to bring my Honda here. Great buying experience and continued great customer service!

Another horrible experience! I came here on Saturday, December 27 and it was cold and drizzling. This was my 3rd car dealership that I went to. I was looking at a Honda Accord or Civic. I approached the customer service desk and asked for a salesperson because I wanted to buy a car. The salesman had few sheets of paper and asked how much I wanted to spend. There was no, "let's sit at my desk or let's go outside and look at a car or anything". He was basically no help at all. I told him what I wanted and he was like oh, we don't have that or just pointed out on the sheets of paper. I told him that obviously you didn't want to sell me a car today so I left. So yes, another unsatisfying customer that you basically lost business too.

Just bought another Honda Element.  Our sales rep was Ivan Fedko. We were pre-approved for a certain APR, so we drove from Austin to Spring, TX to pick up the car.  Then when all is said and done, the APR was higher on the paperwork.  Classic bait and switch experience.  The discrepancy was not enormous, but I would not deal with this dealership in the future.  It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

The service department is awesome! I used the express lane for my oil change and was in and out in less than 30 minutes! The service tech came out and explained everything they did and also recommend other services. However, there was absolutely NO pressure to have any of it done there. Good Job!

Hello,

My concerns:

They tried to sell me an 8 year extended warranty for $1999.  We negotiated it down to $1899, then $1845, and they said that it would include a 3 year oil-change warranty as well at no extra price.  

When I reviewed the contract before signing it (a process that took well over the 45 min. budgeted for paperwork - so consumers please plan to have a non-rushed and extended amount of time to sign contracts, which may entail a return trip to the dealership another day if it is close to closing), what we had negotiated was not written there!  OOOPSy.  The seller claimed this was an honest mistake... Instead of an 8 year warranty plus a 3 year oil-change, the contract only had the version of the 8 year warranty, but for a period of 7 years instead of 8.  No oil change as we had discussed.  I would like to spread the word to future consumers to please read your contracts VERY carefully to be sure that everything you discuss with a sales representative is actually on the contract.

They also tried to get me to sign an arbitration agreement waiving my rights to any legal action against them.  I refused, and was able to buy the car anyway.  If they are doing honest business, why would I need to waive my legal rights?  No way.

Lastly - in my opinion every car I test drove had a ``new car`` smell that stunk to high heaven, and my eyes and the lining of my nose burned when I was inside the car.  I complained about this on two trips to the dealership before I ended up walking off the lot with a new Honda Civic for $18,150 (including tax, title, license).  Unfortunately, and despite my complaints on prior visits concerning the new car smell, they did not disclose until the contract signing that all the cars have been treated with ``Luxcare`` product ON THE INTERIOR.  This was a contract that I was told I had to sign regarding a service agreement with Luxcare and a disclosure that the car had been treated with Luxcare.  While I selected a Honda Civic in part because of the low amount of off-gassing reported here ( ecocenter.org/press-rele… -
), I am concerned about possible additional chemicals in the Luxcare product, which I currently do not have information on.  I was told I had no option but to buy a car from Honda of Spring with that product.  I asked for a product data safety sheet on the Luxcare product before the sale, and was told they did not have one.  When I find out more about the product, I will let you know.

I am posting this out of an interest to support consumer rights and information.

I bought a used car in November and part of the agreement was to change the brakes. They called me a couple of days later after Brakes were done. When I picked up the car the air bag light popped on as I'm pulling out if the lot. I told the sales manager and he told me I would have to pay to fix it. 4 months later the brakes started grinding. I brought it back in and had to fight to get them to fix it. They told me that they would fix my airbag light as we'll but they agrees that they would split the cost to fix it with me. After having my car for a week they told me that there was actually 2 sensors that needed to be replaced an it would be an extra $500. I told them that I would pick my car up to take it to a dealership that I trusted. When I picked up my car they didn't give me a copy of an RO so I couldn't tell the new dealership what was done. I have now been waiting 3 days on the copy of the RO that was supposed to be sent to me in "30 minutes". I think that the uses car dept are lying to me about what was done with my car if anything. I will not be buying anything from this dealership and tell everyone I know to run away as fast as possible from these crocks.

After setting up a time of 7 o'clock pm with the Internet sales manager  Mr Dolittle and both of us  confirming he was a no show . I had driven all the way from the other side of town and was told that he went home earlier that day with no follow up. None of the other sales people even bothered to come out of the office and work with me. So if this is the way they will treat a customer before I make a purchase then I do not think they will be concerned after I make one with them.

Buying a new car can be a painful experience base on the salesman. Bought a Honda accord from them after visiting almost all other dealerships from Houston. This was better than the others. Don't know if I would buy from them again because no extra value was given, but the negotiation was smooth and fast.

I'd give it 0 Stars if possible.....I purchased my 2013 Accord here and I guess they only enjoy selling to those who finance through them.  I financed through my credit union and They KEPT LYING to me about needing my Social Security # for the Title....NO THEY DON'T PEOPLE...SINCE 2009 YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO GIVE YOUR SOCIAL UNLESS YOU ARE FINANCING THROUGH THEM.  They want it because they want to run your credit report and attempt to get you to finance through them!!!!!  I got a 3% rate from my credit union..and I know they could not have topped it....Even when they advertise 0% they still tack on a fee per $ amount....READ THE FINE PRINT!!!  EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE YOU BUY!!!  I don't know if the sales guy was just a moron or he actually believed the social was needed...Whatever the case...HONDA OF SPRING, EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THE CHANGES IN LEGISLATURE!!!!  It was like pulling teeth to get my Buyer's Order from them after I had already had a sales guy commit to a price via e-mail....If they hadn't been the only dealer in town who had my car in the color I wanted I probably would have walked away from them.  Kept trying to pass me off to finance....Ugh....My son will be needing a car next year and I pray he settles on a car from another dealer.....They told numerous lies at this place....and they acted like I was crazy...Yeah, crazy because I know your game....

My husband and I went to the per-owned lot to look at an SUV. We had been at 2 dealerships already but really wanted to see this car. We arrived a little after 8 and did see 2 sales guys out front when we drove up. We parked and went to talk to someone....not a soul around. We started to walk in the building and the 4 guys that were there, seriously started darting into offices. It was one of the oddest things we've seen for sure! Finally 1 man came out of a back office and walked up to us...and never said a word. We didn't get a 'how can we help you?', 'hi', or anything. I asked if they were still open - everyone seriously looked confused as to why we were actually there. Finally the man spoke! He pointed at another sales guy and said, 'he'll help you' then he just walked away. We were smiling, we're really nice, but looked at each other like maybe we did something wrong?

The 2nd guy never gave us his name - I asked twice but he would just say something random and not answer. So we asked Mr. No name if we could test drive the SUV - we have to buy this week, no exceptions. First crazy thing, we offered up our license & insurance (that's typical, right?) - 'we don't need to see those - put it away'... I kind of laughed and said, 'well it's a lucky thing were honest people and not murderers'. Seriously, we could've stolen the car and the no name guy! Luckily we're fairly normal buyers that just wanted to buy a car.

We started out driving and the guy starts sneezing - we're blessing the heck out of this poor guy! My husband told him that his allergies have been bad, and GET THIS- the guy says he hates SUVs and can't stand to be in cars with leather because it makes him sneeze...Seriously?? Just say yes to the allergy thing next time. So my husband asked some regular maintenance  questions about car...the guy said he had no idea and that we would know more about the car then he would. We asked about the carfax info and he said we could look online to get the info we wanted. Really?? Ok- so now my husband and I were getting a little annoyed. The car was kind of sluggish for a minute so I remarked to my husband that maybe its been sitting for a few days. I asked the and he says, ' this is an SUV, people come here to buy little Hondas, not SUVs. Maybe it's been sitting for a week or so.' Yep, at this point, we're just not excited anymore.

We live south of Houston and really had no idea how to get back to the dealership... No name was no help. We got back to the building and the pre-owned side was already gated off-it was 8:40. Yep, he made a comment about us coming so close to closing time and that usually close the gates early. Aren't you open till 9:00?

We couldn't wait to leave. We had just bought a 2012 Honda in December from another Honda dealership and loved the whole process - so easy to get everything done. We will NEVER be back to this dealership. We were ready to spend over $30K on a Yukon my husband actually likes, but we couldn't walk away fast enough.

We didn't deal with the 'New' side of the dealership, but the pre-owned side has some serious customer service issues. Get your act together guys, be a little more professional, greet and speak to your customers, and please get to know your inventory. One more note, never ever tell your customer you hate the cars... Maybe car sales is just not for you - sorry guys!

Great great experience with Honda of Spring. Phil Kidwell was the sales that I was in contact with and he was first class.  I was coming from 3+ hours away so I wanted a no hassle shopping experience.  Everyone was agreed upon over the phone and in email/writing.  The vehicle was already ready to go when I got there, however some of the accessories were missing.  Phil to the rescue. In a split second, he drove it to service and in no time everything was installed.  

Even dealing with Lou in finance was a breeze. We let them know what we wanted and they made it happen.  I would 110% recommend dealing with Honda of Spring and ask for Phil.  Everyone was estatic with Honda of Spring.

Five stars to their service department.

These guys are great when it comes to oil changes and other service related things. The express service normally gets you in and out in 30 min (on a good day) but on busy days could put you back to an hour but I'm ok with that - the waiting area isn't hot and dirty like other places I've been.

All the service people are friendly and helpful. There are so many instances that I could name but two come to mind. Recently I went to another place to get my oil changed (convenience and a friend gave me a coupon) - I've learned. On my way home, the car died on me four times which had never happened before and this was after the guy at the counter asked me if I noticed that my car kept wanting to die - NO, so I assumed that these guys did something to make me go back and get more work done. When I got home, I called Honda and asked the guy that answered if he knew what the problem could be. It took him less than 5 min to tell me about a hose that sometimes isn't attached correctly. He took the time to wait while I went outside and looked under my hood. He walked me through the whole process and sure enough, the other place had not re-attached the hose at all!!! I was so happy and he was so polite esp at 6 pm on a Friday night.

And recently, I had to change my battery which reset my radio. I called and spoke to Keith and he said he'd walk me through it but of course I was in my office. He was kind enough to give me his direct line and told me to call him when I got to my car. So I hurriedly went to my car and called him and in less than 5 min he walked me through it and had my radio working. Thanks!

I love the service guys - they are AWESOME!

I have always purchased my vehicles at HOS. The sales staff is great and the management is always willing to help if there is any issue. My wife just bought our second vehicle from them and we could not be happier. Everyone has treated us great and that is why we will continue to shop at HOS. Next purchase, car for our son...eeek!

Stay away from these crooks! I Shopped online and spoke on the phone to them about a car for my mom. When I got there the car was great but I caught the sales guy in several lies. They would not let me take the car to a mechanic to have it checked out. After asking several times they finally got me the car fax and it had just been wrecked in the front and rear. They tried over and over again to get me to fill out a credit application with my personal information even though I was paying cash. I finally asked to speak to the Manager who admitted the sales rep. lied to me and he didn't seem to care. This is not how you do business and buying a car should never be this way! Take your business elsewhere, Waaaaay too many red flags!!! Skip this dealership!!!

I went to Honda of Spring to find a new car with my sister. We informed the sales associate that we would like to test drive the Honda Accord. He told us that we could test drive the car, but that he needed to drive it off of the lot. This was confusing because neither the Nissan nor the Acura dealership had done this. After riding around on the highway and frontage roads for about 5 minutes the sales associate said he would park the car and allow my sister to test drive it. To our surprise, he pulled into the Popeye's parking lot-told us he'd be right back, that today was the Tuesday special at Popeye's, and it was time for his lunch. At this point we were extremely confused as to why we were waiting in a Popeye's parking lot for our Honda sales associate during our test drive. Needless to say, it was very unprofessional, and we did not buy a Honda from this dealership. We will continue purchasing our Honda's at John Eagle Honda where we have purchased multiple vehicles.
