I have been here a few times because it is near my home, but from now on I will be driving anywhere but here no matter how far. Each time I have went I have gotten rude and unhelpful employees. They do not volunteer any information even if it is as simple as where the oil change line is. The wait is always over an hour and they never once have seemed to concerned about it.

About a month ago I had to bring my car in for a recall issue I called for an appointment was told I didn't need one. When I showed up the next morning and was informed that I needed an appointment. So then of course I ask for an appointment and they say I needed to leave it there now (Thursday) and it wouldn't be finished until Tuesday. They were very abrupt when I asked about a replacement car. So when I refused to be without a car for six days they told me they would call for an appointment or I could just go somewhere else. A month went by...no call. Thank goodness I had the sense enough to go somewhere else, since the whole purpose of a recall is that something is wrong with your car.

The service is horrible. They kept my car for 4 days to fix the passenger sun visor (it fell out when I flipped it). My car is still under warranty... They submitted pictures of my sun visor and submitted it for review to see if it was covered by warranty. Then I kept calling the advisor he never returned my messages. When I called to services line to ask about this matter and their respond was: "it's your car. If you are not happy you can take it to another dealership."

Horrible place to take your car for service. I had my vehicle towed to this location after it just shut off on me while driving. Please keep in mind that I just purchased this vehicle in Jan 2015, and it's a 2015 Chrysler 200... the vehicle was towed to this location on a Monday... a few days later I received a call from Joe Nunez only to advise me that since I did not purchase my vehicle directly from them, that they were going to tow it to the dealership where it was originally purchased. Which is bull shit, because my vehicle only has about 4k miles on it, which means it's still covered under warranty! Not to mention that my vehicle should be able to be fixed at any dodge, jeep, and Chrysler location! After I repeatedly told Mr  Nunez not top tow my vehicle, he still had it towed to another location (not even the one where it was originally purchased). I contacted Mr. Nunez to ask him why my vehicle couldn't be worked on at his location and he was hesitant on telling me anything other than they couldn't work on it... after repeatedly asking why he then proceeded to say that they suspected some foul play?!!!! At this point I'm already frustrated with the way I have been treated, and now he's only made things worse. I demand to speak top his supervisor and he said he wasn't in, but that even speaking to him would do no good, Bc his supervisor (Jorge  Pena) had instructed him to get my vehicle off that lot! I am infuriated at how Mr. Nunez informed me, a paying customer that he and his supervisor suspected foul play. You are not supposed to tell a customer some ridiculous crap like that. There's no reason for helfman dodge to assume that there was foul play involved, after I had already explained to them in detail what happened. This dealership has the worst customer service ever. I am appalled at how I was treated. And how I'm being accused of intentionally messing up my vehicle.

I guess it's important to note that I did call Mr. Nunez's supervisor and he was very apologetic and informed me that Mr. Pena should have never told me what he told me. But that the reason he towed my vehicle was because they "simply don't have the man power to look at my vehicle" - ridiculous!

It's been over a week, and I am still without a vehicle!!!!!!

I took my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee into the service department on 4/11/15 for a loud thumping noise coming from my engine. I even took a video of the problem and showed it to the service guy and the shop manager who were in the office. The shop manager said they couldn't do anything about it and for me to come back when the problem is worse. I asked them to see if they could even diagnose it and he said no. I called a friend who works for Jeep and they viewed the video and stated what the probable problem was.

Needless to say, I will be going to a different dealership on Monday, someone who actually cares about a problem. Very disappointed with these people.

Short and sweet.,  I dealt with a very professional salesman (Jesse "JD" Dotson) and he was honest and very forthcoming. I traveled from Austin and we were under a time crunch with my financier and Jesse did everything to make it quick and easy and complete.  I was in and out in less than an hour.  He even called me on my way out to warn me about a traffic tie-up on 290.  Who does that?

This review is for service. My husband made an appointment with the service department last week to drop our car off on a Thursday, since he was taking Friday off and we had a long weekend with kids and Mom off school on Monday. Friday afternoon they informed us that they were "very backed up" with other cars and had not even touched it, even to diagnose anything. Since they do not work Sat/Sun, that would have left us without a car Monday and beyond. We are a family of 5 with two adults with jobs to get to (in opposite directions), so needless to say it is EXTREMELY difficult and inconvenient for us to find a time to drop the car off--it takes planning on our part.

My feeling is they should have been up front about their schedule when they made the appointment, or at the VERY LEAST let us know sooner than Friday afternoon (traffic, anyone?) that they would not get to it.

Oh, and some guy from the service dept. CLAIMS he tried to reach my husband Thursday night but no messages were left on his work, cell, or our home phone.  Seems like they REALLY tried (sarcasm) to get in touch with him!!

We will find somewhere else to get our car serviced from now on. To me, this is indicative of a scattered, unprofessional operation where details slip through the cracks and if they can't follow through with a phone call or be honest over the phone about being able to take care of us, I don't place much confidence in them. I feel as though by going to the dealership you are already paying a premium for service, so we should be treated accordingly.

I would NOT recommend them.

This week I purchased a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Helfmann Dodge and couldn't be happier with the professional quality of my sales man, his manager and their finance team.  I felt zero pressure to buy and all the options and accessories on the vehicles I was interested in were patiently explained to me.  I was personally introduced to the service team that will help with oil changes and maintenance and they too were ready to answer questions and provided their contact information for any future needs.  I visited 5 other jeep dealers during my car search but was most pleased with the level of patience and customer service I found at Helfmann.  5/5 stars.

I have not tried to buy a car here but I have worked with their body shop and it was not a good experience.  After my car was stolen and recovered, my insurance (that's another story) sent me to their nearest auto body partner, Helfman Dodge.  I had to call and follow up throughout the process. My car was lost for a couple of days.  I was told it was my insurance's fault.   Scratches from a collision were noted but not repaired.  I even asked if they could clean it up before I got it back from a company they sent it to for work to be done.  They told me that it would be better if I just pick it up from their subcontracting shop and have it cleaned myself.  So, I'm left trying to figure out what exactly they did.  Charge my insurance I guess.  I had the rest of the repairs done by another company.  

Again, I cannot speak for buying a car there but don't bother with the auto body service.

My direct contact with Kelvin Ugbaja was a great experience as well. Kelvin was very polite and thorough.

Went here a couple of months ago and I'm so glad we decided to look around before buying. The guy was a New worker... We were looking to buy or lease a Jeep and the best deal they gave us was 7k down payment and $750 monthly payment and they couldn't specify for what exact model that quote was and didn't have a car available to show. I though it was very expensive and ridiculous to buy a car without looking at all my options first, plus we specify that we didn't want the most expensive car ... The costumer service wasn't good at all. We drove a couple of miles more and find the perfect car, service and price for us.

We bought our second car from Bobby Binns at Helfman Fiat this weekend. He is great salesman and actually makes the car selection and purchase process fun. The dealership is straightforward about pricing and paper work was quick and easy, and most importantly, surprise free. We will be back..I want an Alfa Romeo.

Derek Moore, our salesman, was very cordial and helpful and straightfordward. He is an asset to the organization.  We also talked to Eric in the Sales Department and he was very helpful in explaining features.  
Then we purchase Auto Shield, LoJack and Sensors Back Up costing $750.00 plus sales tax.  
The Sensors Back up is unsatisfactory as the beep is not loud enough and we adjusted it to high.  If people are talking, etc., it will not be heard.  I have been in other automobiles that have this and it was really distinguishable.  This Sensor Back Up, in my opinion, is a waste of $811.88.   What can be done about this?

This is for service. I'm extremely disappointed because I bought my jeep here in April and was given a coupon but first oil chnage, get two free. Great deal right? I thought it's a hassle to drive over to the dealership and wait longer for an oil change but it's worth it for a value of $100. So waited until my oil change light came on, fast forward to present and showed up today to redeem my coupon. Well of course there's a catch they don't recognize it anymore because they changed oils. There's no fine print on the coupon saying they may hangs policy after this date or anything, they just decided nope we're not going to redeem your coupon who cares if you bought a $28,000 car here, we can't buy your oil change like we said we could.

She said well my manager said we can buy today's oil change but from here on out it will be $65-70. Oh yea and it will be an hot wait. So now since I drove over here, not anywhere near work where I need to be right now, I'm going to probably wait longer than an hour I'm sure because if they don't keep their word on other things i would be surprised for them to quickly finish my oil change. I'm beginning to wonder how it will go over when I tell them about the electrical problems I've already been having.

I brought my car here for a collision repair in the body shop after an accident.  The receptionist called me every few days to give me an update on the repair, which I very much appreciated.

It was a large repair, and the total cost was more than the estimate.  But my insurance was paying.

After I picked up my car I noticed the bumper was misaligned and there was a gap between the bumper and my headlight.  I had low tire pressure, and my steering wheel seemed to have a piece misaligned as well.

I came in the next business day, and they fixed the problems within about 30 minutes.  Although the bumper is still not aligned perfectly. I also had a nail in my tire, they suggested I go to a tire shop to get it fixed as they did not have the equipment.

Overall, they had good customer service. I showed up right at closing time on a Friday and they were happy to help me.  I also liked the status updates on the repair.  My car is not as perfect as it was before the accident though, which is a little disappointing.

This will be a long review; but every single word of it is true!  I would like to point out that i am a young lady,but very mechanically inclined: service manager for multiple reputable automotive repair facilities. My father is a Chrysler certified technician as well as an ASE master automobile, truck and diesel tech. My boyfriend is a master tech turned automotive service manager.

In late January of this year, I was in the market for a vehicle upgrade. Went online and saw a 2008 Chrysler Sebring advertised for roughly $8k. Drove 25 miles to go check it out and when I drove it, I had some questions about it. The air tube that connects to the air filter was broken and cracked so I asked if they would fix it; they said no...okay.. Went home to think about it and to see what other options I had for that price range but I wanted that car. Called THE NEXT DAY to arrange to come down to get it I tried to put a deposit on it and they said that my sales person would have to call me back to do it. Around 7:30 he calls me to get the deposit and says "ooh wait I just sold it I forgot you wanted that one." Fine..

Finance manager calls me 2 days later, offering me a 2013 chrysler 200.. Well, I was intrigued so I test drove it and fell in love.

The second night I had it, I backed out of my drive way and it sounded like 3 dogs howling! Called helfman immediately! I got told it would be over a month before they could get it in because they had some large custom projects...fine... The weeks go by and I want to do the oil change on the car (not due for another 1500 miles, but I wanted to put Royal Purple in it) but what do I see? My oil pan gasket is leaking! So I call helfman again! They push off and push off I finally get it an appointment for 4/29/14. I get there and spend the next 6 hours arguing about if the oil pan is under warranty..the car has less than 20k miles on it...with a 100k mile warranty..yes it's under warranty but will they call chrysler to submit the claim? NO! When I got to the GM and ask him what's going on he says, " just so you know, I don't HAVE to so anything. And if you cause a scene I'm going to call the police; but I think you're better off taking it to another dealership." Wow...all I can say is wow.

Let me back track a little: 4/9/14 I call helfman from work to order a part for a vehicle in the shop. Guy named Curtis answers, he's goofing and playing around on the phone and I ask him to look up the part because I have a rear end torn down that I need parts for; my earring clanks against the phone and he asks what the noise was I told him..the rest of the conversation goes as follows: " I guess you need to take them motherfuckers off before you go to work!" Me:" excuse me?! Dude just look up my part". Curtis then says," is there a problem bitch? Do I need to come and slap a hoe?" At that point I brought him to reality that I'm not his friend, I'm calling him for a part not to play around or be insulted!

I mentioned this conversation to the GM and his response was, " do you have a tape of that?". Not an apology, no kind of empathy..

Helfman Dodge will sell you a car but when it comes to fixing one.. You're up a creek without a paddle

There are Thieves Here, plain and simple. I now shop at Helfman River Oaks and have nothing but positive to say about that location. Here is my condensed story.

First, let me start by saying their service advisers are nice and helpful. They do have a lot of good people working there. Lonnie was great but he was transferred out of that department. Recently I took my top of the line vehicle in for service. Right as I pulled up I recalled having $80 worth of winnings in the form of scratch off tickets that I received as a gift sitting in my console. (pardon that sentence). Even though I knew better I thought, "Hey, I have their second most expensive vehicle, this is a well respected and professional dealership, what could go wrong!?". To be on the safe side I buried them at the bottom of my console with papers jammed on top of it to the point they barely fit. You would have to look very hard to find them.

Flash forward to me going to pick my baby up. The sketchy character pulling it up randomly stopped about 200ft short of the drop off spot and sat there for about 2 minutes. I have dark tinted windows so I couldn't see what the "Ese" was doing. So I decided to walk up to the car, last minute he fumbles and gets out awkard-like. I didn't think much of it, and drove off. 5 minutes down the road I remembered the lottery tickets, I opened the console and they were gone. I called my service adviser and he acted like he cared, said he would get to the bottom of this. They never called me back. They own me at the very least an $80 credit. Then again, I'd be afraid to leave anything in the vehicle again after my first experience. Maybe they'll read this and offer me the credit I deserve. Then to be on the safe side I will remove anything the employees may steal such as factory radio, seats, steering wheel, wheels, transmission, motor.

Next, I went to go look at the new SRT Viper. Knowing the sales were poor I checked into what kind of deals they were willing to work. Instead of taking me seriously they arrogantly talked about how they couldn't even keep these in stock. They are so popular in fact the there was a $20k mark-up bringing the total to the high 150s if I remember correctly. 3 months later it was on ebay with $20k+ discounted off. I have no respect for any dealers marking cars, ESPECIALLY when they aren't selling well.

Lastly, their ghetto hoodrat employees drive customer and dealer cars through the parking lot like they are some type of Chris Brown-Justin Bieber-Jeff Gordon hybrid. No joke I was almost hit 3 times by them the last time I left the dealership.

So there is my review. Beware of this dealer. Helfman River Oaks is not far away. Save yourself the hassle and go there.

Service department is horrible. Guy named Eric told me that the only place that can work on my 2012 dodge ram is the dealer in which it was purchased. That's bs is suppose to be covered at any dodge dealer. I had regular service there before but this is the last time I will ever go to these guys for anything.

I would be very leery about dealing with these guys. After the sale, my car broke down with less than 3000 miles on it, and they were very unhelpful in making it right. The Service manager was rude, and my salesman, Mark Freeman, and his boss Keith Aherns, did not help me..... and this is on top of other problems with the car (buttons not working, etc).

Be careful purchasing from them. They're great when things are good, but when things go bad, they leave you hanging.

Buying a new car is not an easy decision. Especially since I just moved to Houston from NYC. I had not owned a car in like 8 years. I knew what I wanted so I went to get a dodge challenger from an unnamed  dodge dealership(dont wanna put the whole dealership on blast because of one MANAGER). I settled on the price and the man actually selling me the car made me wait 3 hours and was being frickin rude..... even made some rude comments about me to one of his employees along the lines like *let him wait* * he wont buy it anyway*

So it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Best decision I made was not purchasing that vehicle at the time

I found a website and Keith Contacted me on it, so I went in ... All I have to say is, not only did he beat that car, he sold me on a better model. he worked with me, and spent hours showing me cars instead of having me sit.

When he gave me the price he told me no one could beat it. So I took the price contacted 10 dealers in Texas, and man everyone who I spoke to said the price was quite aggressive and they could not beat it.

I love my Car and the incentives I received from purchasing it.

This review is for the service department at Helfman.  I took my Jeep there recently for a horrible knocking noise it'd had for about a year. I had taken it to a different mechanic previously and he'd told me there was nothing wrong w/ it and didn't fix it.  Um, wrong answer- I know that my car isn't supposed to be making this awful noise.

I dropped my car off here on a Wednesday evening and by Thursday at 10am they had already diagnosed my car, called me to get the "ok" to fix it, and were on the way to having it finished.

I was completely happy with the level of service I received there and that they actually DID fix the problem.  I will def bring my car back here for any future problems it has.

Randall A, our salesman went out his way to grant my husband's requests, answer my questions and even save the day when we were dramatically searching for a lost phone (It was in one of the cars we tested). JJ, Juan H. and others were great. Overall, we like the unruffled, professional experience we received. THANKS!

"Don't worry, I will take care of you" are the overused words you always hear repeatedly from a car salesman, but at the end, never seems like those words were lived up to.  Surprisingly, I was genuinely well-taken care of through the whole car buying experience from the moment I drove onto the lot, information gathering, the test drive, negotiating the price, and finance.  I highly recommend Kelvin who was responsible for those words mentioned earlier.  He took great care of my purchase, never rushed me, and ensured the experience was not just another car dealer trying to get as much money out of me.  Although, they did not honor my initial offer, but we were able to negotiate for a final offer that was well within my range.

This has been my most enjoyable car buying experience to date!

I was an out of town buyer and saw a car I wanted on there website. I used there online contact tool for one of the salesmen to contact me back. The next day Jesse or JD did less than 24 hrs, a quick response!

We emailed a dozen + times, always kept in contact. When I came up to pick up the car, we went on a test drive that went really well. Car checked out and all is good. JD was friendly and did not have that awkward feeling when you go on a test drive with a stranger.  

He worked to sell my trade in and to get the best possible deal, I felt great leaving with the deal that I have and thats all that matters when you are buying a car.

While the paperwork was being processed, I met one of JD other employees Mary. She is super nice we talked for a bit to pass time by.

I got home that night and couldnt get into my garage, YUP! Forgot my garage door opener, no problem. Emailed JD that night and got a response the next morning. Saying he got it from my old car and would be sending it to me! HOW ABOUT THAT!

I would definitely buy again from JD

NO WARM FRIENDLY SERVICE AND TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION to Customer and Internally with Departments.  After Planning to Buy a 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland, you would hope Service and Communication, But Not The Case Here.  As a Houston REALTOR and In the Sales Business I know Both Sides of the Sales Process of this Sales Game. This is my 5th Car Purchase

Better Example: Jesse Dotson ( JD) - Excellent, Very Warm & Hospitable.

Be Pre-Approved Before you arrive.
Carlos in Finance - Hard to Reach, Did not Explain Terms, Never Followed up. Take it or Leave it Attitude. - NO COMMUNICATION SKILLS
On Pick-Up Delivery Day - Car Not Detailed 100% - SLOPPY JOB and Unprofessional like a Child Detailed the car.
Car NOT Inspected by SALES Manager - Keith ( which is Policy - Again - NO COMMUNICATION)

Service at the SALE - NONE Unless you email Jason Feldman to get their attention...Then the Better Service Began.
Had a Bad Loud Rattle Sound near Moonroof.
Dropped Off the Night Before so It would be Serviced 1st Thing the next morning.

PROBLEM 1 : When Calling - Service Manager Has NO CLUE - where the car is or what service to perform? Not Showing in the System. - NOT GOOD!

PROBLEM 2: Etson and Keith Ahrens in Sales who accepted my Keys, DID NOT COMMUNICATE To Salesman Joshua Smith or to Service Manager.

PROBLEM 3: Hunting Game Begins to Find Status of Overland.

PROBLEM 4: SALES Dropped the Ball and did Not Deliver to Service until Late Morning - NO COMMUNICATION INTERNALLY and still NO Communication with Customer at this Point.

PROBLEM 5 - So By NOON, Car Still has not been Diagnosed by Tech to Troubleshoot

KUDOS here to GLEN and LONNIE - Great Service to Them to HELP with the Problem.

SPOKE with Jason Feldman to try to Put out FIRE.. Too Late. Apologized and Blah and More Blah.. BUT did not Offer Anything to be Accommodating to Customer at All.

Call Finally Ready By 5:45pm Called by Glen and Not Josh ( Who is supposed to be Point of Contact  - No Status Update Along the Way either by Joshua. ) NO COMMUNICATION.

ABSOLUTELY NO FUTURE REFERRALS SENT TO HELFMAN DODGE / JEEP. Shop Elsewhere or Deal with JD Only

Two stars?  Well, I did spend a considerable amount of money here, so there was somewhat of a pleasant buying experience...in the beginning, but that is where it stops.  

I have owned my car for a little over a year and I have already vowed to never return for service...I had been taking my Jeep in to the dealership for regular maintenance and oil changes just to keep it consistent.  

After a while I noticed that every single time I went in, the maintenance rep would have suggestions for additional services (battery replacement, air filter replacement, belt replacements, etc.).  I understand a good upsell, but every single time presented different suggestions...they suggested different services every time.  

After a follow up email from the service department I expressed my concern with this and asked who could help with me to look over this paper work, and I never heard back.  I even followed up with a second email just asking for a contact on the service dept., and still nothing...

Nothing says great customer service like ignoring customers.  I have never been one to write anything negative about a business without giving a fair chance for redemption, but it is long overdue.  I can get an oil change anywhere...
