Terrible Customer service, and on a simple oil change they can't even get it right. Went in for a scheduled appointment. Left. Got home and husband looked under the hood...he noticed that the simple task of toppin gof fluids was not done. Makes me wonder what else these slackers didnt do. DO NOT GO HERE. Called to complain and no one will return my calls or address the issue.

Service department has three members to help.  Whichever team member you work with is great.  The same 3 have been there for the 3 years I have been going to this dealership, I'd like to say I have a favorite, but all 3 are my favorites, so I am never disappointed when I make my appointment.  I trust their advice on service and any Subaru related question.

Came here for a test drive and I have to say I have mixed emotions. We (my family) came to test drive the new sporty BRZ which we were interested in buying. The original salesman that talked to us was extremely nice and understanding of our situation. But when he called his friend over to help us with some clearing up of the information, that's when things began to change. His friend was rude and tried to make us feel intimidated, he questioned every bit of information we knew. It felt so bad that we felt like we were in a good cop bad cop situation. We tried to negotiate a good price for both sides  but he acted as if were trying to play him for a fool. During out heated talk He said, "Why would you test drive it if you can't afford it?" this was a real slap to the face. Other than that, everything went smoothly, we did not buy the car because of the uncomfortable pressure  but are still planning on returning. This place has other great sales persons that are more worried about making you happy than making a quick buck so dont be discouraged.
-Not perfect but still respectable.

I went there before about a year ago and couldn't get a car. Although I know I went there on a hope that someone could with with my shitty credit and I didn't even have all the right paper work -_- my stupidity my sales guy Hassan told me to try and come back when I was ready. So I came back this year about 5 days ago and put no money down for my vehicle Hassan the same Nice man who helped me before did everything he could to put me in something nice he read my face like it was a book he tried to give me as many options as possible. Even though again I'm a first time buyer the shitty credit no credit lol young and not a whole lot to work with. After a few vehicles didn't work out for me. He was running all around tryin to make it happen for me. He comes up and pulls up in 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and needles to say he was the nicest man I have ever met in car sales I would go back to him for every vehicle I ever own. He made it to where I was a person and not just his sales quota seriously amazing I'm so happy(:  Hassan you deserve a raise !!! Thank you so much!!!!

Came here twice to try to trade in or get a different vehicle. The first time we didn't have all of our paper work ready but a few days ago we went back. Hassan was our sales guy both times. He is AMAZING. He was very patient, very helpful and was trying so much to help us get the best deal possible which was really hard with our credit. Eventually we found a 2015 outlander sport that we just had to have and Hassan helped us through the whole process and even helped us setup blue tooth and walked us through everything. We will defiantly be back again for another car soon. Thanks to everyone at Mitsubishi and Subaru and Hassan.

On this past Saturday, December 27th, this was my 5th car dealership and my final. Yes! I did it. I purchased a 2014 Cross Trek. I came in hoping that I was able to get someone to help me and I did. I finally found a salesman that would sit down with me and showed me a range of cars and SUVs. We then spoke about what I want in this particular car and I explained that in my dream car - I would want a backup camera, heated black seats, and navigation but can live without those amenities except a backup camera. I got spoiled in my VW that I really wanted it. We started searching for a Forrester with the amenities that I wanted. Found a few of them but didn't have black seats or the car color. I didn't just want to settle on a car color if it wasn't what I wanted in the first place. I had a 2015 Forrester in mind but ended up getting the Cross Trek at last minute. My sales guy's name is Kain. He was patience with me and provided me with all the knowledge that I needed to know about the Cross Trek.

I think he got me when I test drove the car. I love how the car is all wheel drive and stable. Kain is a great sales person and very professional. He worked hard with me in getting my car. I told him that I needed to leave early to go to a family dinner. He had no problems and told me to come back to show me the different features that my car has and does and will help me set up my bluetooth connection. I would definitely recommend Kain to anyone. He is awesome! I give him two thumbs up.

My husband and I purchased my 2015 Forester in September from here.  I've previously bought from Gillman Acura next door.  Both experiences were above and beyond expectations!  Our salesman, Patrick, was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. It's sad I feel I even need to mention this, but sexism and car buying are not mutually exclusive.  As a woman, you often feel uncomfortable or hounded at a car dealership....not here.  I was treated with the same respect and courtesy my husband was.  Can't say the same about West Houston Subaru.  We were able to purchase the exact vehicle I wanted, with additional features, for LESS than West Houston Subaru.  Patrick negotiated a fair and unbeatable price for us.  Financing was quick and easy with Storm and wasn't a hair-pulling nightmare.

Recently my car was already due for its 6k oil change (covered under warranty).  I was able to easily schedule my service online for January, but ended up hitting 6k early so I called the service department on a Monday to see if there was anything earlier.  Kyle was able to get me an appointment first thing that Wednesday morning.  I arrived a little after 730 where I was promptly greeted and handed over my keys.  I was told the wait would be about an hour so I settled into the waiting area and fixed a coffee from their beverage bar.  Keurig brewer means no stale/burnt coffee here!  I flipped through some magazines and before I knew it, my Forester was ready.  Less than an hour!  Kyle went over the service performed with me and I scheduled my next oil change for March.  

I'm completely pleased with my purchasing and service experience with Gillman Subaru North.  We are customers for life.

I've been wanting the 2015 WRX for awhile now and waited for a few months before it arrived at the dealership! Mo helped make sure that I got what I wanted for my car. He was very helpful in the car buying process and catered to what I wanted in a car. He really took care of me throughout this whole process. Even after I bought the car, he followed up with me to make sure everything was good and working. I know I can count on him in the future when I need something or questions on my WRX. I definitely recommend seeing Mo if your in the market for a new Subaru, he'll take care of you!

Bought a forester there in 2010. Just in time of the expiration of the power train warranty, the clutch, transmission and engine failed within 2000 miles of each other. Stay away from Subaru, their quality goes down the drain. At this point, it's a worthless heap of metal which would eat up the majority of its blue book value to fix the engine to get it to a state where I could sell it and let some other poor soul deal with it. A once great company ..... No more. My mom drove Subarus most of her life, and my experience has convinced her to drop it.

If I could give negative stars, I actually would. Stay away from this place, and Subaru in general.

I dropped my vehicle off Friday August 29th for Maintenance.  I had an oil change and tire rotation.  While rotating my tires they found a nail in one tire and replaced it with a "new" tire.  I paid $107 and the warranty paid $183.  I had to return the next day, because the tire they replaced had a slow leak.  I was asked if I live around construction (which I don't) because I had two nails in my right front tire and a nail in my right rear tire.  The problem I have is that in order to prove to me that the right rear tire was the "new" tire that was replaced, the manager had to pull the tire from the rim to show me the tire lubricant inside.  The tire was not a new tire.  It may have been a new used tire, but it was not new and I paid for a new tire.  There is no question that they replaced one of my tires; however, the tire they replaced it with had nearly the exact wear pattern as the remaining three tires.  In fact it was difficult to tell the difference.  At one point I said maybe the new one was placed on the left rear instead of the right.  The fact that I was told that I was getting a new tire and instead received a used tire infuriated me to the point that I simply asked to have my tires placed back on the vehicle.  Instead of allowing them to replace the "new/used" tire for free and pay another $107 for the right front tire, I took it to NTB and paid $700 for all 4 tires.  The whole experience makes me question what other short cuts are being taken.

I did not purchase my '08 STi from this place but I bring my car here for any maintenance that is required. The entire staff here is as professional as they come and I couldn't be more satisfied with the work they do. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Couldn't ask for a better run dealership than this one. My next STi will be purchased here.

I had very frustrating intermittent issue with stalling and low idling. The other dealer did not fix it after many visits. I took my car here to give a try before getting rid of it. They at first did a simple fix but did not work. When I returned with warning lights blinking, they immediately sprang into action and within an hour my car was fixed under warranty. It's been a few days and so far so good. I shall return this place for service and repair from now on even though they are farther away.

I actually did not buy a car from this Gillman dealership, but I did want to report that while I was looking for a Subaru, I visited here more than 4 times, and EVERYONE inside this dealership is awesome.

I dealt mainly with Edgar, who was super helpful, polite and nice.  And aside from Edgar, all of the sales folks are chipper, and eager to pitch in with answering questions.

Also met the manager, Yeoung I believe, and he was the super cool nerd guy manager you would expect, and I would be more than happy to do business with them any day!

The only reason I bought from the other gillman subaru was that they just happened to have the exact car I needed right at the moment, and north couldn't get the car from south, even though I tried to get them to steal it from south so I could give my business to Edgar.

UPDATE: Edgar called me today ( Monday) and told me that he needed me to come in because he was going to get the car I wanted from Subaru south on wed.  He sounded very surprised when I informed him the car he was talking about was already in my driveway.   In all honesty, it could have been a clerical error... or a trick played by Subaru south... or a ploy to get me back into their dealership.. I can't say which for sure.

Absolute crooks!  Their service department techs treats customers like they are a bother and the only thing they service is the customer.  If you want to have your wallet drained, go here.  If not, go anywhere else.  I don't recommend this dealership to anyone.

I just bought my first Subaru car ever 2014 BRZ, very nice car and great value for the experience at Gillman Subaru North couldnt get any better, extremely friendly salesman, Eric Pallanez..he was knowledgable and willing to go the extra mile to help out with any pricing/paperwork/insurance issues..he didn't mind staying late hours just to help getting insurance so I can get the car on the night I wanted (great help to me as I am a new international transferee to Houston). I highly reccomend doing business with that dealership, not only I had an excellent customer service and not your typical pushy attitude to buy extras or seal the deal on the spot, but also I made a new good friend..thanks Subaru, special thanks to Eric Pallanez.

We just bought our SUV at the Gillman Subaru dealership and am very pleased with the service and the car!
I was hunting for our second car for a while and had been to about 3 dealerships before i landed here.
Excellent customer service - Eric P - he was patient, persistent and nice. He had the car out for us to test drive, stayed till about 10pm to complete the paperwork and gave us a clean car.
I would recommend this dealership to anyone buying a used or new car. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the sales person took a personal interest in me as a customer and that was a definite feel good factor.
I would go back here if i am in the market for another car.

Amazing service! I spent about a week shopping for a new-used small SUV. I visited 4 other dealerships in the area and spent hours searching online inventories. My search happily ended at Gillman North, where I fell in love with the Subaru Forester and received the best sales service! My sales professional, Eric, was very knowledgable about the product and acted with complete integrity throughout the sale. He was extremely patient, as I evaluated each car I was interested in and he allowed me to test the Forester out on feeder roads, highway, and neighborhood streets (another dealership on 249 only allowed me to test drive from Louetta to Spring Cypress- feeder road only).  I couldn't be happier with my Forester and my sales experience at Gillman North!

Great customer service from Hassan. We came to this dealership, weary from our poor experiences at a few other used car dealerships. We made an appointment to look at a SUV my wife found online. When we showed up the SUV was waiting for us, and Hassan was immediately ready to take us on a test drive, no waiting at all. My husband and I were, and still are, raving about our service yesterday. Never once did we feel pressured or like someone was talking down to us.

A week before buying our Subaru Legacy, we hadn't even considered a Subaru. We went to a Toyota dealership where they tried a Bait & Switch, so we walked. After that, we went to a Honda dealership where they treated us like idiots, misplaced my driver's license, and kept forgetting to give me back my trade-in key, so once we got it back, we walked.

Yesterday, before going to Gillman, we went to a BMW dealership where we saw a salesman leaning over a table, screaming at his potential customers in front of their toddler, which was so highly inappropriate that we walked, even though it wasn't happening to us. Then we stopped at a nearby Subaru dealership and were there for a good 5 minutes, no one even said, "hi" so we left.

You might say that I'm comparing apples to oranges, but if all dealerships are skeevy and just trying to rip you off, why were the people at Gillman so accommodating and willing to patiently work with us until we made a deal?

The slogan is correct. "Gillman: It's the way to go." Gillman Subaru North turned us, a Honda girl and Toyota guy, into Subaru lovers for life. We will definitely go back for our next car. To everyone we interacted with - Edgar, Edwin, Yeong, & Bob - thank you, thank you, thank you!

This was the bizarro world of car dealerships.

I've bought a lot of cars in my time, and it seems that as soon as I put one foot in a dealership's parking lot I had at least 3 salesman all over me (and hubby) wanting to know what was "our pleasure."  And then as soon as we opened our mouth, one of them was on us like flies on the proverbial cow pattie wanting to extract every last cent from our wallet as well as rights to our first born child.

But, we entered the bizarro world here.  I wanted to test drive their newly released BRZ model.  It's almost identical to the Scion FR-S, which I'd already test driven (but it wasn't a manual transmission and I wanted to compare the two manufacturers anyway).  So we made the short trip up from the Toyota dealership after driving the FR-S to see if I could plant my bottom in a BRZ 6-speed.

A-hem.  Hello?

We walked into the showroom.  Desk at the entrance with a saleslady on the phone there and several other salesmen mulling around, but no one paid us any mind.  Here's a brief synopsis of about 10 minutes of banter:

Saleslady at desk (obviously on a personal call who reluctantly ends the call as we stand there hovering over her since no one else is paying any attention to us):  Can I HELP you?

Hubby:  We'd like to look at any of your new BRZ models.

Saleslady:  Don't have any.  You know, they're being made in limited production.  Only 500 in the US total this year.  They're all pre-orders. [**learned later that the number she quoted was a total falsehood]

Hubby:  Pre-orders?  Without a test drive?

Saleslady:  Yes.  People write us check.  If they like it when it comes in, we process their check, if not, we don't.  Would you like to do that?

Hubby:  Is there any dealership in Houston that has one we can test drive?

Saleslady:  I doubt it.  Let me see.  [Makes a phone call or two].  We have a dealership on 59 and the Beltway that has one.  You can go see if it's still available to drive.  Good luck.  [saleslady then picks up the phone to make a phone call to -- whomever]

Hubby:  Oh.

Saleslady:  [offhanded] Bye.


I'm at a Subaru dealership.  This isn't a Lotus, Lamborghini, Ferrari or similar dealership.  We were brushed off with no help whatsoever.  At Subaru?  Huh?

Cross this car model off the list.  And cross this dealership off the list.

Decent dealership service with a friendly staff. Our outback recently made the voyage to Texas from California and it needed an oil change, tire rotation, and a state inspection. They did all this in a timely professional manner. Only wish they had some complimentary snacks while I waited. but that's my fault for leaving home before breakfast.
