We had a terrible experience with the Service Department.  We had our 2011 Jetta Sportwagon towed to Archer because the car was leaking oil and we needed to replace the oil filtering housing.  We called and made an appointment and told them exactly what needed to be done, verified the part was in stock, and specifically asked that the entire housing be replaced.  They needed to keep the wagon overnight so we asked for a loaner car and they claimed that couldn't provide one.  They called us the next day said it was taken car of.  My husband had a co-worker drive him to the dealership over lunch.  Well, when he got out to the wagon after work, the car was still leaking oil.  The oil was so low that isn't wasn't even registering on the dipstick.  So we had to have it towed back to the dealership, which they did offer to pay for.  We found out that the mechanic decided to just replace the canister instead of the entire housing as we requested.  Not only where we upset that they didn't provide the service we very specifically requested, but we also drove the car and potentially damaged our engine because it was still leaking mass amounts of oil.

Even after all this, they still tried to avoid providing a loaner car.  Only after a second phone call to the service department, where they suddenly able to provide one.  This all occured on a Friday.  They told us they would have the car ready on Saturday... then we didn't get the car back until Tuesday.  They gave us some excuse about the mechanic having a personal emergency and that's why they didn't get it done.  (What, they only have one mechanic on staff?  Shouldn't BB's get priority service??)  Then we still had to haggle with them on the bill as they were going to charge us for the initial service as well as the service we actually requested. Then on the way home, we got warnings that our vehicle was low an coolant.  I suppose this good be coincidence, but after all the BS, I feel like the dealership should have checked all of our levels.

We are actually in the market for a second VW right now.  If the service had gone smoothly, we would have considered buying from Archer because they are the VW dealership closest to where we live.  However, because of the crappy experience, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Apparently no know understands how to answer a phone . Been calling repeatedly to get my oil change and been on the phone being transferred from one department to the next not getting to servicing . I purchased my '14 Vw cc r line here with no problems besides the salesman was new who kept saying "let me check on that" . We went back and forth on the price . Gave them one pay option is when they agreed quickly . when I signed for everything paid my money get to the car find out "keyless" means you still need the key then all their answers change from "let me check on that" to "this option doesn't come with that " guess the first "complimentary " oil change is hard to get from here or I wouldn't be surprise if they pull "oh no this oil change will be $$$"

We visited Archer Volkswagen with the purpose of finding a new Jetta for my wife to trade her Explorer in on. My he first thing we noticed is the lot does not look very organized or set up like a typical dealership. Honestly, it's a little confusing to look at. As we approached the building we were greeted by a sales lady. She greeted us and asked if we needed any help. We told her exactly what we were looking for and she brought us right to it. We told her we wanted our Explorer appraised and I know exactly what I want for it based on previously appraised numbers at other dealerships and fair trade value. She got the appraisal started and got the keys for the vehicle we wanted to look at ( We knew exactly what we wanted to pay for the vehicle as well and told her) After a pleasant test drive, we went in and completed a credit app. As we waited in a nice and clean lobby, we were kindly offered drinks. We then talked to the sales manager who wanted to give us 18,200 for our vehicle. I told him I wanted 19,000 because that is the highest it appraised for. He didn't argue much and gave us the 19,000. I also told him what I wanted to pay for the vehicle (I didn't want the difference in trade tacked on the vehicle) and I got what I asked for. We then met with the guy in finance who explained everything in detail and managed to get us a 2.4% APR. Overall, we were very happy with this purchase.

My first visit to Archer was simple GREAT! I had just purchased a 2012 Passat TDI SEL used from FL and took it into Archer for the complementary spring inspection special. Daniel Mitchell knew I was under a time restraint and made a effort to assist me right then and there. Hilary was outstanding in getting things done right away too. Both are exceptional people that made my day! Christian in parts was on the ball and very nice as were all the people I had met that worked for Archer.

REVISED - I have come to learn that one of the owners gave out my personal information to a non-dealer wanting to use the information against me in a legal battle. The owner of Archer, said there was nothing wrong with giving out personal information without asking my permission. If this is the way management does business, they will never see me or my vehicle again.

Let me start with a good point of my experience with this dealership: the sales manager eventually saved the day and made us seriously consider buying the car in interest, which is why I am giving it a 2 star instead of 1 due to the horrible experience which I am about to describe below.

My wife and I went to the dealership for test-driving, and we took our baby along because we do not have babysitting, plus one of us would be driving while the other would be taking care of the baby anyway. We were greeted by a salesperson and got to see the car we were interested in at the lot. It was one of the warmer days in Houston, and even though it was January, warm days got really warm here. As he made his move to get the key for the vehicle, he suggested that we could wait by the car which was at the opposite end of the lot from the sales floor - in the intense sunlight with a baby! Regardless, we followed him back to the building.

During test-driving, I was taken to a route about 1 mile long only. And since this dealership is next to the freeway, the suggested route was basically a straight line south, followed by a u-turn, then straight back north, a u-turn again and back to the dealership. I mentioned that I wanted to test how the vehicle perform in a curve on freeway speed, so he tried to take me to the freeway away, but once realizing that the entrance was somewhat farther down, he ushered me back. To add insult to the injury, the salesperson was looking down and tapping on his iPhone the whole time I was test-driving.

As a potential car buyer I did some home work on learning about the vehicles I wanted to test and prepared some questions, but every question I asked met with an disappointing "I don't know, I can find out" with this salesperson. This being a Volkswagen dealership and not, say Carmax, had only one brand and a handful of models to sell, it's baffling to see a salesperson not being even half serious about his products. At one point when I mentioned handling, his only response was "Porsche is known to be the best in handling". Seriously?

We only had experience on used car department and not the new car department, but for anyone looking to buy a used VW, I CANNOT recommend this place.

Sold me a car 05 audi A4 told me a little ole lady had it I said show me the car fax showed me all the service but never once told me it was in a major rear end collision.. Once I called and confronted the sales manager he said if you traded in a car you wouldn't tell me it's been in an accident now would you?  Too bad I would I'd hate to give someone else a problem car best advice don't buy from them. Really good liars and they fix the car fax they show you and don't let you keep them. I would recommend this dealership to a person i have hate for. I wouldn't even give a single star but you have to.. I can't wait till my lawyer gets involved this should be great.. Don't ask for Habib he's the best liar there..

Started out with a not-so-great salesman but ended up with Will who took (and is still taking) good care of me. The main reason for the 4 stars is because I feel I got a decent deal on my new Jetta. Prices were consistently lower the Momentum who is now claiming to go by the "True Price" program that seems like an excuse to over charge for cars. If you're looking for a decent deal on a Volkswagen, I'd recommend this place. Get any promises or offers they give you IN WRITING.  Also, ask for Will!

hands down, the easiest car buying experience i have ever had.
let me tell you why.

i was involved in a pretty bad accident a few weeks back leaving my car totaled. i get a call from my insurance notifying me of the total loss and i have 72 hours to return my rental. 72 HOURS! i am a car guy and although i love cars, i had no idea what i wanted. seeing as i am probably going to end up back in CA (where i never drive) and reliability and gas mileage are a determining factor i opted for a jetta. the 2.5L 5 cylinder is a VERY solid motor and the mk5 body style is far superior to the mk6 (in my humble opinion).

i wanted to keep my expenses low so i kept my budget at $13k. not a lot to deal with, but i pride myself as a man of little financial obligations. the mental fact of knowing i owe anyone anything makes the shutter. ugh. while shopping online, and in my budget,  i found two mk5 jettas in the Houston area that were bare-bone BASE with no options BUT with low low miles (09 w/ 28k miles, 07 with 27k miles) and they caught my eye immediately. i called both dealers (momentum VW and momentum BMW/mini for good measure) and they ensure both cars were available. score! i took a half day off of work, drove to Houston from the woodlands with all of my financials in hand ready to pick up my new ride!

what happened? i show up to VW.... SOLD. the car was sold a few days prior and although it was showing in their database the car was no longer physically there. it is updated a few times a week. i even emphasized that i am making a long trek to the receptionist and she ensured me it was available. frustrated twas me. moving on.

second dealer: same thing. moral of the story, momentum needs get their ish together.

from there i start wandering off aimlessly. battling Houston  traffic while scanning my autotrader app for nearby cars since i am already in the city. that is when i come across Archer. i find a 09 jetta with 34k miles within my budget. i pull into the lot and i am immediately greeted by Rejean. before trying to throw me in a car and hounding me about my intentions, we have small talk about my glasses... where i am from... etc. being in sales, i appreciated the fact that he didn't try and force me into anything and talked to me like a normal person. he got my respect immediately. he asked what i am in the market for and he will do what he can do to make my shopping experience worthwhile.

from the get go i told him a) my budget b) mileage expectation c) options preference. keep in mind, based on my search there were TWO cars in Houston with my preferences so i didn't have a lot of hope. he smiled and said "we have a lot of cars that fit your criteria, lets check them out".

he showed me numerous colors, options, years and all priced within my budget. so instead of feeling like i was rushed to pick a car, any car, i now felt that i was given options to pick the right one for ME.

And there it was; Rejean was able to find a flawless black 09 jetta with a whopping 25k miles. when he showed it to me, i knew it was out of my price range (+/- $1000) but was willing to look at it because it was so flawless. when he brought the keys he told me the price... and as anticipated, out of my range. he told me that if i REALLY liked it he would work hard to get me a great price. after the drive i knew it was the one for me (even was willing to stretch my budget because it had ALL the options i seeked with lower mileage than normal). we did some number crunching and sure enough, he threw out a spectacular price that i could not pass up (UNDER budget). lets give a break down.

-VW certified 2 year/24k mile bumper to bumper warranty
-all of the options i wanted
-25k miles
-under budget

why not?
i pulled the trigger and bought it. when it came to financing, they also threw in an additional 60k mile/5 year warranty for a little change.... id be dumb to say no (especially coming from a BMW). needless to say, i was out the door in a car that exceeded my expectations, fantastic service and an extended warranty.

i have purchased +/- 10 cars in my life and this one was by far the easiest and pain free experience i have had. i have worked with a lot of sales people in every industry imaginable and Rejean went above and beyond for me as a client and i will continue to shoot business his way.

don't waste your time at any of the other guys around town. these guys hit a home run with me and my bar is set very very very high. keep it up!

We got a great deal on our Jetta here, but it was hard. Be prepared for low down and dirty wheeling and dealing with this place. They did do window tinting for free, which is nice.

Whatever you do, don't buy a pre-owned vehicle from Archer Volkswagen. They buy wrecked cars, mostly with clean Car Fax reports and fix them at their body shop down the road. Skip their used department and go with a more reputable dealer.

I'm giving this place 4 stars because there are two different experiences you can have here...the first is buying a car and the second is the service department.

the service department is 5 stars.  Since i've had my GTI in 2007 i've been taken well care of by Peter from the service department.  He does everything that i need and goes beyond what is necessary.

as a sales place i give it 2 stars.  they don't really work with you on purchasing a vehicle.  they try to get every penny from you possible. I ended up going to austin to get my GTI for 2k less than archer's offer.  

pass on the purchasing experience here and go just for the service!

i just bought my first-ever brand new car at archer vw, and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. from the moment we pulled into the parking lot, the service was friendly and accomodating. granted, they wanted to sell us a car, so of course they were nice, but it truly felt like they went out of their way to make it easy for us. this was my first big purchase, so i was incredibly nervous and didn't want to be "had", so to speak, and i left the lot feeling like our saleswoman understood how big a deal this was for me. she worked to make sure i stayed within my spending limits and took the time to answer every question i could possibly have concerning my new passat. i am completely in love with my car, and i even made the saleswoman hug me once the deal was done!
