Reviews on Autobahn Volvo Fort Worth

Overall I am pleased with my purchasing experience.  The dealership is too far for me to use for servicing, so this is a review of car sales only.  I purchased an S60 demo/loaner car with 1700 miles on it just before I moved to Dallas.  The prices on these cars were great and they are treated like new cars with regard to warranty/financing!

My husband moved here ahead of me, so he went and test drove the three cars I had in mind (their inventory is fully online and nicely done).  We weren't quite ready to decide that day, and I was happy that there was little pressure on my husband to make a decision without me.

Once we decided to purchase, we were able to handle everything via phone/e-mail/internet (credit application).  Then they dropped off my car in North Dallas the very day I moved here.  Our salesperson was very nice and easy to deal with even though our purchasing style was a little non-traditional.  It would have been nice to get a follow-up call a few weeks after purchase, but other than that, I am pleased.

Great place to buy your car!  This is now our third Volvo (S80 for dad, S60 for mom, S40 for daughter!)
You will find no pressure, honest approach, simple answers to any questions, great prices, and fast response.
Be sure to see Alan Edwards! Since we had a fantastic experience with Alan on our last purchase, we knew that he'd take great care of us. He listened to exactly what we wanted and got us into the perfect car. And, he helped me surprise my wife by coming to get me so that I could bring the car to her. He actually made a long drive through construction and heavy traffic to do this!
He walked us through all aspects of the car, set up our phone, answered questions, and made sure we were well taken care of. The car was incredibly squeaky clean.
Our hats off to a wonderful experience, once again, from Alan and Autobahn Volvo.

Also, we know that we will get nothing but White Glove treatment from the service folks. Mike Montes has taken amazing care of us for years. Alkyl of pour cars are in top Rio shape because of Mike. Be sure to ask for him, if you can.

Solid 3.7 score for Autobahn overall.  Yes, really - car dealerships aren't the scary places they used to be for me.

This score averages out from the following for two very different areas of the operation:

4.8 score for new car sales
2.6 score for the service department

New car sales gets my top marks.  Go see Alan Edwards.  He's fantastic.  Rolled me through the purchase of my second Volvo (an XC60) gently, answering all my questions, communicating with me through the days between my test drive and decision without every being pushy, and ultimately delivered my new car ready to drive (including spending time setting up my Bluetooth and getting me comfortable with the features.  I took off 0.2 points, 0.1 for each of the previous sales guys I'd talked to while on service visits who never followed up on my vague interest in a new car "sometime in the next 6-12 months".  Their loss.

The service department has, in all honesty, not had the chance to fully earn back my rating (and I'll be happy to re-review once they do).  My previous Volvo rolled out of warranty about a week after I moved back to Fort Worth and so I was not eligible for any of the "perks" I was accustomed to at my old dealership (loaner cars, expedited service, etc.) and I feel like I was often quoted for items that I didn't "really" need but they insisted they couldn't repair my car without doing.  The service lights in my C70 started going off with regularity and after a couple of visits to Autobahn where I was quoted $1k+ to fix the situation at hand, I rolled around the corner to another non-dealer shop and had the same problem fixed for $100-200.  Once they told me they would not complete a software upgrade (that would make the check engine light go off) unless I also completed several other items. I actually faxed that quote to the service department in my old city who told me to go back and have ONLY the upgrade done.  Sure enough, the light went off.  I am CERTAIN that things will be different as a warranty customer, but my impression from four years out of warranty definitely colored my experiences.

Bottom line... buy your car from Alan.  Make sure it's under warranty.  Make your appointments early so you can get the loaner car.  Everyone wins!
