This is an update to my review since 10/2014.
Let me start by saying I will give compliment where it is due and give constructive criticism anytime it's necessary.
Since our costly visit to Volvo Service in Oct. 2014 (replaced ETM/reload software, replaced ABS Control Module, replaced right control arm + 4 wheel alignment) unfortunately, we've gone back 2x and I'm afraid we are about to go back for the 3rd time.  The check engine light came on again and would not go away so we went back for a visit 3 months later.   It took 3 hours of wait and yes, it was our mistake that we decided to wait for the diagnosis versus leaving the car as they give you a loaner anyway.  John was off the day of our visit but he did endorse us to another team member which was fine, after all, it's the same team.  We were told the following parts needed to be replaced: Evap canister close valve and fuel filter, canister cut-off valve and so we ended up leaving the car with Service on Jan. 15'15.   The following day. we received a call that the car was ready, so went to pick it up and as Mr. Jimenez drove the car up to the front, he was very apologetic and told us the engine light was still on and that it needed to go back in.  1, 2, 3, 4 days gone by and no call from the Service Department.  My husband wasn't worried because this was a service team he decided was trust worthy and the only reason he finally made a call to Service is because I prompted him to as I thought he should've received a courtesy call from Volvo Service with an update.   But, he didn't and, was told instead that if he had any question, to call them.   The car was not ready for pick up until Jan. 24'15.  Almost 2 weeks of wait and what was the reason for the delay?   They kept getting bad parts.   Ok, we understand it happens but, how many times and why would it take you that long to get the car ready?   And by the way, the service was already paid for the day we first went to pick up the car only to be told it had to go back in.  My thought is, if you have a customer that gave you a 5 star rating, you have to make sure you are consistent with delivering the level of service that earned you that 5 star, strengthen and safe guard the trust that you are building, with old and especially with new customers because you know that is the only way to keep their loyalty.

Had such a great experience here! My salesman Ryan Killough made the car buying process so easy and quick. Really nice guy and very knowledgable! He got me in a 2014 Malibu from a 2009 Sonata in less than 4 hours and it only raised my car payment $30. I could not be happier with my purchase and appreciate the whole Park Place Family!

I had a great car-buying experience at Park Place Volvo. Brian Marsh is knowledgeable and respectful. He actually made the process enjoyable, which has never been the case in my previous experiences in buying a car. Brian has been readily available when I called him with questions, and follow up has been remarkable. I will be purchasing my wife's next vehicle from him. I had a great and easy experience in the service department. Got my tires fixed and a nail removed/plugged quickly. Even washed my car for free. Open at 7am and closes at 7pm making it easy to go before it after work.

In all my driving years I have never experienced the exemplary service I have received from this Volvo dealership.  I leased my Volvo from Marc Young around a year ago. I did all the negotiations via email. He came down to the price I wanted to pay, got me exactly what I wanted, color and all. I came in, picked up my car and drove off within 15 minutes. No pushy sales, no surprises.
Last week, I set an appointment with Clarence for my free oil change and checkup. Brought it in, hopped in a free new Volvo loaner car. 2 hours later picked up my clean car and drove  away. Every week I get a free wash too. Everything from the car itself to the free services to the friendly folks is a difference between night and day as compared to my previous experience with the 3 Passat dealers here in DFW. I can't say enough great things about the way Park Place treats its customers.

I brought a car in for service on a Wednesday morning, called on my way in and was greeted at 7:30 AM at the door by a nice gentleman. Over the phone I was able to 'set an appointment' which really ended up only being a call ahead because by the time I hung up I was already in their lot. When I arrived I had nothing at all to worry about. Within minutes of my arrival, I was sitting with Terrence getting exceptional attention. I had to wait about 15 minutes for a shuttle service, but Mario (my wonderful and friendly driver) was prompt and very kind. He later came to pick me up from work in order to pick up my car as promised, and he was parked right outside. My review is based on the service department, and Mario specifically. He was absolutely a delight. As a female going to a service center is always dreadful, but this center and driver were exceptional.

My review is for the Service Dept.  I called the appointment hotline and was able to get through to a service writer to ask questions before committing. I spoke to Johnny (would recommend asking for her) and she was extremely helpful. They offer either a loaner car or shuttle and I chose the shuttle. Ryan, who drove me to work, was very pleasant. Everyone from the valet to the shuttle drivers were very polite, quick (no waiting) and thorough.  As someone who works in the auto industry, I have to say I was pleased all of the way around and would highly recommend. Not all mechanics have the skill and knowledge as well as equipment to work on a Volvo. There is something to be said about having your car serviced with experienced technicians.

I wrote this review 2 months after buying the Volvo S60 from Anthony Conrad at Park Place Volvo in Dallas. BUT it's a good thing that I was not rushing to give a excellent review right after the purchase, but instead driving it for a long time.
Now, I am living in Bay Area CA, and drove a long way from Dallas TX. My certified S60 has never had a single small problem during and after my long trip (2700 miles). A certified vehicle is really an "insurance" when you buy a used car. Especially, when a dealer like Park Place cares about customers so well.
Lastly, I really want give CONRAD huge credit on helping me buy this S60. He is not only a hard working salesman, but more like a friend on helping you out, no matter on car models or price. From some details, I know how much he loves his family, and I think that's his motivation on hard working. BUT as a salesman, he is not trying to make commission from ppl's purchasing, but doing his best on helping customers lower the price. He is really a warm-hearted, considerate, passionate buddy!

Excellent CAR, top level customer experience, best salesman! That all I want to say about my story.

Ok, as a woman....I have to say walking on a car to buy a car is on my TOP 2 things I hate to do, #1 being moving.  So, with that being said, I thought I would try something different. I reached out to an AMAZING friend I met over the years who worked at PP Volvo via email. I explained to him my situation and he replied politely back and offered me to complete a credit application online--So, I took 5 minutes to do and sent back. He called me in 5 minutes to ask what color and style and sent me a link of new car inventory. I took a peek and picked my color and style.

He called me back and told me to come get my keys!
I drove into the car lot and he had the car waiting, my name on it- ready to go! I test drove it, signed a few papers...and BAM!

Everyone came over and introduced themselves, shook my hand, congratulating me on my new purchase!

I am still in shock!!! Took less than 30 minutes to get my car together!!! WOW!!

I never thought to own a Volvo! But, I LOVE IT!  :)

Aldo is THE MAN! After moving from AZ to TX I was nervous about taking my Volvo to just ANY service drive. This place is a little hard to find at first since it's separate from the dealership but once you find it you'll receive the VIP treatment. When I arrived a gentleman opened my door and took my vehicles and introduced me to Aldo. From there we discussed my vehicle, my move, where I work etc. This is just one friendly guy! He also let me know that my tires aren't included in my service work but since I just moved there and it was my first visit he took care of it for me. My vehicle was going to be there a few hours so they gave me an AMAZING XC60 to drive around for a few hours. When I got back my car was serviced and clean! SOOO happy with my recent experience!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE FEMALE.  I had to return  my car after service because when I turned the corner, it would make a high screeching noise.  Apparently they do not test drive after repairs.  They quoted my a tire $100 over what Discount and NTB charge.  They charged me $139 to do a diagnois and another $159 to actually fix it; they me that it had a leak in the gas tank and that is why the check engine light was on.  I took the car to another repair service and they changed the gas cover for a small price and it is fine.  I like my Volvo but apparently after the warranty runs out you are in rip off city and thus a reason to not buy a Volvo.  Even their used cars are way overpriced.  I have changed service advisors and he is not any better.  I will not go there again!!!

Had a bad experience with a new car from Park Place in the past, but decided to give them another try servicing my Volvo C70. Huge mistake. My last two experiences put the last nails in the coffin:

1. Brought car in because it was not starting well. Their diagnosis? Corroded battery terminal. Their fix? Buy a new battery and positive battery cable. The cost? Over $1000. I said no way, and asked them to just clean the battery terminals. Result? Been fine for a year since.

2. Had a headlight out. Stopped by to see if they could pop in a new bulb. Instead, they kept my car overnight, saying that they needed to install the bulb. Bulbs retail at $98. Their price? $250.

In both cases, I've given them negative reviews on their own questionnaire, and no one has bothered to remedy the situation.

Well, so long, Park Place.

My wife and I were in the market for a 2010 Acura RDX with Tech. We had an abysmal experience earlier that week (see my other review: yelp.com/biz/mac-churchi… ) and were hoping not to repeat. I contacted Park Place Volvo about a 2010 RDX with Tech I had found online. Marc Young called me the next morning and I spoke to him for about ten minutes. He agreed to have the car detailed and ready for us to come see it that evening after work.

My wife and I arrived and he had the car out front and ready. I do all my own maintenance and know my way around cars, and this one checked out. In fact, it was in impeccable condition. The carfax had already confirmed that all maintenance was done at dealers, however the service staff at Park Place must have cleaned the engine components. The interior of the vehicle was also immaculate. There were two to three very small scratches, but none that penetrated further than the clear coat, and I can get those out at home. Other than a couple small scuffs, the interior was free of any damage.

The test drive went smoothly, and Marc was happy to speak about the vehicle and had clearly done his homework. When we sat down to negotiate, I simply didn't have a lot of room, since this vehicle was already priced VERY reasonably. Park Place's asking price was only $700 above the 'fair market value' number suggested by Edmunds.com . So, I started negotiations and in about ten minutes we had a deal for $250 over fair market value. I felt this was acceptable as the condition of the vehicle seemed to be nearly new. We met with Germaine (F&I manager) and everything was taken care of in less than an hour (that's fast for all the paperwork!).

All in all, I'm exceedingly pleased with the experience. Although Volvos aren't my cup of tea, if you're in the market, please shop Park Place.

Great experience buying a C80 from Piers Morfey, and a great experience in the finance office with Dave Gibbs.  Both of these gentlemen were direct in their communication, and they used our time wisely!  No sitting for 30 minutes during each leg of the negotiation.  I would tell you go see these guys if you want a volvo.

I recently purchased my C70 at Park Place Volvo, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Marc Young was my sales consultant and he was excellent. He was extremely patient with me and took time to answer all of my questions. He also followed up with me after to make sure everything was working properly and that I was happy with my purchase. I had to bring the car in to the service center for a problem with the Sirius radio, and I had a loaner car waiting for me. It was a very easy process. I definitely recommend Park Place Volvo to anyone looking for a new car.

The entrance to this place looks like a fight club.  Seriously.  Look at the picture I took.  No windows.  Just a door that says casually says, "Psst.  I'm the entrance."

You walk in and are immediately met with a counter with a phone that has a nonchalant sign that says, "Yo.  Dial 5580 and someone will answer."

All you do is dial, then someone says, "I'll be right there."  You don't even have to say anything.

Then you get punched in the face, kicked in the nuts and they repeatedly ask you what the first rule of fight club is.

Alright, you got me.  The last sentence didn't happen.  I was met by a nice guy.  Efraim, if I remember correctly.  He asked me what I needed, took my paperwork, got me rung up and returned with my part.  It doesn't get any simpler than that.

If you're looking for parts and you've gone to Park Place Volvo, you're at the wrong place, this fight club..... er warehouse is not next to the dealership.

Anthony Conrad is the man.  I originally called Park Place Volvo along with 2 other Volvo dealers in DFW.  The woman I spoke with initially said that they had no C30s on the lot and that she would do some checking and get back to me.  Meanwhile, I talked with the other two dealers and was looking at buying a C30 soon.  I hadn't quite found the C30 that I was looking for, and the other two dealers were pretty much telling me to just choose from what was available on the lot.

So, I decided to give Park Place Volvo another try--a week later after no call back.  I talked to Anthony Conrad, AKA "Conrad," and he told me that they had no 2012 C30s on the lot but that he would check around to see what was available for a dealer trade.  He called me back within an hour or so.  The first two cars he found were already taken, but then late the same day he found the exact car I was looking for.  We had to wait until the next day to get a reply, but then Conrad called me to give me the good news that he'd secured the car.  I told him I was on my way to the dealership to sign papers.

I found it amazing that Conrad was willing to work so hard for me when he knew I was talking to other dealers and when I hadn't even been to his dealership yet in person.  When he was searching for cars he sent me emails and text messages to keep me updated.  Amazing.  Also, the offered price for the car was good for a dealer trade (something not on their lot), and I didn't even feel like trying to talk them down anymore.

Conrad sealed the deal, but the pleasant experience continued when we arrived at the dealership to sign papers.  We were treated well, and even the financial part of the deal was pleasant--which most times, the financing department at dealerships doesn't have as much of a customer service feeling.  It's all business and hard sells to get you to buy extra things you initial don't want.  Well, not at Park Place Volvo.

I'm very pleased overall, and I am excited to pick my car up next week, as I purchased it still at port.  Not a problem though because Park Place gave me an S40 loaner and a tank of gas for the week.  I couldn't ask for more.

I was looking for a 2011 new or low-mileage Volvo V50. That turned out to be a challenge, as Volvo has stopped selling that model in the US (which is my only complaint about the entire experience, as I just sold my 2005 V50, and I LOVE that model). I couldn't find any in Seattle, so I hit the internet. Lo and behold I found just what I was looking for---in Dallas, at Park Place! I've bought a lot of cars in my life, but NEVER one sight unseen or from out of state. I worked with Mariette Picca, and she was so fabulous to deal with, I could easily see buying my next car from Park Place. It was so easy, Mariette was so wonderful, it was truly one of the easiest car purchases I've ever made. The car was delivered yesterday, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you, Mariette, and thank you Park Place!

This review is for the service center....

Service is 4 stars.

Wait time is 2 stars but hey if I wanted a quick oil change I would take my Volvo to grease-and-go.  I had time to kill so I didn't mind though and just read my book.  The waiting area is comfortable with a large TV (which they'll change the channel if you ask) and they loan out iPads.  

The complimentary car wash after they're done is an added bonus.

I wish I could give this place NO STARS!!! They did the old bait and switch on me and my husband as well. We had been searching for a very specific Volvo and we finally found it (or so we thought) at Park Place Volvo. We were stationed in Hawaii at the time, but we were relocating back to the mainland. So after numerous phone conversations and emails, we were told that the exact car that we wanted was there on the lot, it would be fitted with the additional equipment we wanted (rear entertainment system), it would be the exact color combination we wanted (pearl white exterior with charcoal leather interior), and it would be ready and waiting for us when we got there. We even gave them a $500 deposit!!!! I was SOO excited, so excited in fact that the first stop we made when we got off the plane at DFW was not to the hotel to rest/freshen up, not to relatives' house to see them...but yes, to the Park Place Volvo location to pick up my baby!!! As we entered the parking lot, I saw her sitting there shining, just waiting for me to slide into the seat and take her home. Now here's where the story crumbles....the sales person walks out, introduces himself as the person we had been communicating with and who we gave our $500 deposit to...he says, are you ready to see your car? HECK YEAH! I started toward the car that I thought was mine, but he went in a different direction...no biggie, maybe they have ours under a covered stall or something to protect from the elements.  When we reached the car, I thought he was pulling my leg...no rear seat entertainment system and light interior--are you kidding me?!? I asked about the first car and he proceeds to tell me that one is sold, this is our car and if we wanted the rear seat entertainment we could pay an additional $1800 to have it installed!!! Needless to say, I was LIVID! Then the manager acted as if there was a misunderstanding on OUR part, and clearly it was us who the blame falls on.

My experience with Park Place Volvo Service was awful. I ultimately switched dealerships for service for one major reason, but there were a few not so good moments in between as well.
       One of the things that was frustrating, but not a deal breaker, was that on two occasions when I requested a car, because my car was going to be in service overnight, they sent me the the enterprise down the street. Now, they did pay for it, but after spending 40 minutes at the service facility to then go and spend another 40 minutes at enterprise waiting in line, it was almost not worth the effort. Then, someone at Volvo told me to decline any additional insurance they offered me because everything would be covered by my insurance. When the enterprise employee asked about the insurance, I said no, and then he proceeded to give me a hard time about it and why was I declining it etc. I explained what Volvo told me and he rolled his eyes and made a comment about how they didn't know what they were talking about. This bothers me, because  if you were going to be sending customers daily to the rental place, you think they would make an agreement with each other to make it as painless as possible.
      Anyway, after having dealing with this on several occasions, I came in to have a tire changed. I have special tires on my car, and they don't stock them (even though they were the ones that were originally on the car when I bought it). Waiting was not an option because the tire wasn't there at the time, but he said they could get it in by tomorrow morning if I wanted to leave the car. I told him that I had class that afternoon and when I called to make the appointment i requested a car. He told me that the loaner cars are first come first serve and that he didn't have any left. I doubted him, because sitting out front, I could see several of their loaners. I also thought this was interesting, because on the several occasions when they sent me to enterprise they were actually out of loaners as well, but because I had requested a car they were obligated to give me one. So at this point I realized, because I am a young female student, I was not being treated fairly. You should have seen the shocked look on the mans face when I told him I would just take my chances with the tire and I was going elsewhere.
       After changing dealerships, I also realized that the price they wanted to charge me for one of my tires at Park Place was $450 and Volvo of Dallas was $250 (which is the same as discount tires)!!!!!! Anyway, even though I live close to Park Place, I drive up to Frisco to use Volvo of Dallas. They always have a car for me when I need one with no problems!

In an effort to redeem themselves, General Manager, Rob Schweizer, reached out to me to get a better understanding of what went wrong.  This is the first step of trying to make things right and hopefully avoid another bad review.  

I hope Park Place Volvo keeps Rob Schweizer for a long time, because he is customer oriented and it matters to him if you are satisfied with their service.  Remember, PPV lost an easy sale; but he wants to make sure it doesn't happy again.
