Reviews on MINI of Dallas

We had a great experience. We saw 3 cars we were interested online and called about them. They are about a 3 hour drive from us. When we got there, they had all 3 cars parked next to each other so we could compare them. Zack was so helpful answering our questions and assisting us. There was no pressure to buy, but we were so happy with the car and service we did! We will definitely be coming back. We also had a great experience with the finance department. Very painless process buying a car!

Great experience!!  Malcolm helped us and was a pleasure.  No pressure and knew a lot about the car and options.  Same with financing experience.  I am very knowledgeable about cars and he knew his stuff.  Would do it again.

Terrible. The road hazard warranty MINI peddles on you as a great deal, is in fact a ruse. The $1500 warranty is effectively worthless. Our claim was denied because the tread was 1/32nd below their standard. That's right folks that's half of a 1/16th of an inch. Of course they blamed this on their affiliate and made no attempt to help a customer.

I called the affiliate, safe guard, to cancel the warranty in an effort to at least get half of my money back (2.5 years in on the 5 year warranty) and was told the value on my warranty is $200. LOL $1500 to $200 in less than 2.5 years. Oh and their is a $50 cancellation fee.

MINI/BMW of Dallas lost a customer today. Bottom line, don't do business with these snakes and their affiliates.

We purchased a used 2011 Mini Cooper S from Mini of Dallas. Everyone was friendly and our sales rep Malcolm was super nice with low pressure. We were happy with the experience. We probably won't get the car serviced at this dealership because it is too far from where we live in McKinney but as far as the sales experience it couldn't have been better.

We are defiantly coming back. We only had a short time with them but they made us feel special. With our recovering credit, we got a really good deal!!! They took good care of us more than they needed to. We are very happy!!! Recommend to everyone!!!
My wife and I, really enjoyed the experience purchasing our mini here. Right from the beginning the staff were friendly to us. From our phone calls to our first meet with Wade Cowser, he made us feel at ease from any question and making us feel welcome.  We kind of knew what we wanted, at least an Idea, Wade was able to take the information what we were looking for and show us more options. Willing to find the answer to questions and not making us feel in anyway pressured. True professionalism.
When it came to the finance and signing Mr. Lee Carter, as well as Michael Walsh caught us by surprise with kindness. Not only did they surpass our expectations, to take the time to understand our situation and not only that, but to go beyond what is minimally required. Can not believe the service we received, I can't even come up with the words to explain how grateful we are.
Even from the parts department Eric was willing to take the time to show us the new accessories and was very knowledge on his inventory. We liked his happy go lucky attitude.

 Thank you MINI of Dallas!
We are very very very happy!!! We recommend to everyone!!!

Two stars because the sales staff if really nice and knowledgable. Beyond that, they're a crap dealership.
They're owned by Automation, which once I heard that I didn't think I would like the place. In the past, Autonation has proved to be pretty crappy to their customers, I have found first hand.
They low balled me by like 3-5 grand on my trade. They came out and told me that is what edmunds and auction info was telling them. Funny, because I had run Edmunds that same morning and come up with the proper number. When I protested, they ran edmunds right in front of me and imagine that, the numbers were suddenly right! They "reworked the numbers a bit" and when they came back, they still low balled me by a grand. They also told me "now that we entered our bid in on your car, no other Autonation dealership will give you more than we bid." Thanks, assholes.
I went across the street to Park Place and traded my BMW on a Mercedes instead. They didn't dick me around and I got way more for my trade.
These guys (at mini) are chucklef*cks. I was really offended by the way I was treated in their dealership and I won't be back. In fact, this whole thing kind of soured me on BMW and mini, since they're one in the same (company wise).
The lot here is small and the finance guys are typical oily car dealership people. I would suggest another dealership entirely, and definitely not an Autonation owned one.

I just bought a 2011 Mini Cooler S from Malcolm Hodge at Mini of Dallas, and he was great.  He knew the car well and made the buying process simple and event free. The next Mini I buy will be from Malcolm as well.

This is my second MINI, my first from MINI of Dallas. Already loved the product, I enjoyed doing business with its dealership. Wade Cowser is knowledgeable and very helpful. His calm demeanor and no-pressure sales technique sealed the deal for me. Go to Wade when you're ready to purchase your MINi. You won't regret it!

I bought my first mini hardtop S and I'm thrilled. I recommend salesman Zack Marlar, he was great and very patient with me.

I just bought my 2nd Mini Cooper from Mini of Dallas a couple of weeks ago.  I used the same salesman, Jason Williamson, (mainly because buying a car can be a pain and stressful) and he made it such an easy process the first time.
He made the transition from "looking" to "owning" as easy as possible.  He didn't push me for a certain model or package, which is a huge positive when I look at car buying.  He took me through their whole inventory when I couldn't decide.  I had the same specifications in mind from my first car, but choosing a color took time.  Jason was patient and even helped (without pushiness) when I started comparing my top choices.
After finally choosing a color, which if harder than it sounds (because it is a Mini and all the colors are awesome), they handed me off to a guy in the BMW office.  Waiting for the paperwork took a little longer, but as it was a Saturday afternoon; that is to be expected.  This is of course the least fun of buying a car, because they are usually pushing for added warranties.  I was prepared this time because I basically wanted the same package as the first car.
The whole process took about 4 1/2 hours and I think two of those hours was me deciding what it was I wanted.
If I ever plan on trading in my mini for an upgrade, Jason Williamson and the Mini of Dallas will be my first choice.

I worked with Jorge De La Canal at Mini of Dallas. He's awesome! He not only worked closely with me to order the exact Mini Coupe I wanted, he also guided me with complete honestly and valued opinion as to what was the right way to do it. This guy truly knows Minis. I felt valued and appreciated. Everyone at the dealership I encountered was friendly. I've gotten my last three Minis at Mini of Dallas. Each experience was a good one.

I purchased my first car here, a 2014 MINI Cooper Countryman, a couple of weeks ago--I'd wanted a MINI for years and had started looking in August, when I first met salesperson Andres Galceran. Andres was a pleasure to work with, very patient, friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. He didn't rush me and made sure to explain everything to me every step of the way. On the day I took delivery of my car, he spent a good deal of time going over the features of the car with me and even helped me pair my iPhone with the car. I also found Randy in finance to be very helpful as well--again, very patient and did a good job of explaining the differences in service options to the first-time buyer. I would absolutely buy another car from these guys. Happy motoring!

Great experience! Bought a car from Jorge this evening. He was knowledgeable, easy going, no pressure tactics whatsoever.  Listened and provided great details. I've never had a better car buying experience. The deal was made simply and straightforward. NO smoke and mirrors. He even stayed late to help finish up the deal AND gave me a ride to my office so I could drop off my extra car. Can't say enough about how easy and comfortable he made my experience. I will definitely recommend MINI of Dallas and Jorge. THANKS JORGE!

We purchased a 2013 MINI Countryman last month. We used to have a 2003 MINI Cooper. I knew I wanted a new MINI.

Zack Marlar was a great salesperson to work with. I had my  2 1/2 year old with me and I needed to look at the Cooper & Countryman to see which one her BOB stroller would fit in. Then to test drive, I needed to move her childseat.

Zack was patient, helpful. The other sales advisors were great too. One of them brought over a train set for my toddler while Zack was looking at the numbers with me. The whole staff made my daughter and I feel comfortable.

The next evening, my husband and I came back to purchase the car and trade in my VW. It was late. Zack stayed after everyone else was gone to make sure we could take home the car that night.!

I recently purchased a brand new 2013 Mini Paceman, and couldn't be happier with my decision.

The salesperson I worked with, Jorge De La Canal did everything he could to make sure I found the right Mini. I originally went in with the intention of buying a Countryman, unfortunately the one I saw online sold the day before and their inventory was rather low due to the new 2014 models coming in.

Luckily for me, a Paceman was displayed right behind his desk and I started to really like the sportier look of the Paceman.

This is the third vehicle I have purchased new from a dealer and the experience was by far the best and pretty stress free. Jorge even knocked off a bit more since my wife is a Mini owner but we didn't qualify for the loyalty discount since it was purchased used from a wholesaler and not a Mini dealership.

I would absolutely recommend Mini of Dallas if you are seriously considering becoming a Mini owner, just make sure to ask for Jorge.

Huge difference between sales staff, and maintenance/ service staff.

I bought my car, Mini NEXT used, in Massachusetts. I took my car in for a 65k mile check, oil change, and a low tire that just wouldn't hold air for more than a few days.

My oil change was $130. Wait, what? It said $70 on the website (which is about what I paid at the nearby tire and auto store). "Oh, my bad... you must be better informed than I... yup, here it is, $70." Keep in mind, this is an 09 Cooper Hardtop. No turbo, no super, no oldschool cramped engine compartment. Really straightforward.

The tire- "Oh, we found a nail- a new tire will run you $178." "Wow, you can't plug it?" "Nope, it's in the sidewall. We can't touch it." Local tire shop? Pulls the tire off, shows me the nail (which Mini never did, despite my request), and it's right on a wear bar, well inside the tread. Five minutes and $7 later, the local shop had me plugged.

They tried to run me $78 to replace a foglamp. $50 deductible to do work covered by my Mini NEXT warranty. Over $400 in filters- yes, I'm serious. Do I care about my car? Yes. Would I like the work done soon? Yes. Do I trust the prices to be fair, after my $130 oil change quote? No.

I was there three hours. Three. 8:45 AM to 11:45. For an oil change, tire rotation, and a guy jerking me around that he couldn't plug my tire.

In the meantime, Jorge (Sales) entertained me with some information on the 2014 Minis due out soon, with the BMW engines. He showed me around some floor cars, politely engaged in some good-natured banter with me, and kept me slightly less bored than I otherwise would have been. They also had two Works GPs on the lot, which is just fun and interesting.

I might buy another Mini here. I'd require a change of heart to trust them with maintenance again.

SERVICE REVIEW-

Sales people/motoring advisors:
All are friendly, happy, etc. However, I've taken my car in every week for months and they still can't remember who I am or that they've helped me before. I always have to wait for something here, people aren't around to help, and so on. Getting a rental is especially challenging, as they feel the need to drive you next door to BMW, which you must wait for, and you must wait for the rental car staff to arrive, complete the paperwork, locate the car, and check out.

Work: dissatisfying. Every single time I've taken my car in, which has been an excessive amount recently, the check engine light comes on within a day or two of getting the car back. Multiple issues, months apart. Same results. I've taken it in 3 times for the same issue, only for them to tell me a part was broken and needed replacing. However, this was not the real problem and the part fixed wasn't causing any issue at all. I took the car to Plano, and they confirmed that the original problem was what the car was having, fixed it, and I haven't had a problem since. They've also left caps under the hood loose, and adhered something together with visible glue, when the part needed to be replaced.

If your vehicle needs service, go to Mini of Plano.

I don't think that it's particularly often that we see the type of review that I'm about to write, and that's for a plethora of reasons that most folks will conjure for themselves. In this case, I thought it was at least reasonably important to share a review that perhaps for a few might ring novel or relevant. Here's the skinny: I didn't end up buying a car here, but still had an entirely positive experience.

The car business is a hard game, and no doubt even reasonable folks are tainted by the garbage of salesmen predecessors. In my case, I wasn't living in DFW when I bought my last Mini, but I have appreciated my ride enough over these past seven years that when it came time to explore new options, it felt logical to consider diving into the Mini pool again. And for those of us who live in North Texas, we're lucky - there are no fewer than three dealerships all about, and I contacted each of them in hopes of finding an organic fit for my next set of wheels.

I won't bore you with some of the minutiae, but suffice it to say that my salesperson really was terrific. I get the impression that most of these are somewhat skeleton crews, and on this day I dealt with Jorge (pronounced like the English George, so you don't butcher your first attempt like I did), and he was super helpful, very responsive to questions and had great insight on the car I wanted and test drove. That was a very welcome, very appreciated set of circumstances.

That said, ultimately, my less than 100% perfect situation comes in light of the fact that the Dallas Mini dealership (in my singular estimation) just didn't seem to have as much creative selection as some of the other locales. Jorge was my favorite sales person of the day though, and we'd not met before I set foot on the lot today. So, for what it's worth, if you're in the market, you could do tons worse.

I took my 2006 Mini Cooper in to get the auto lock system changed. The representative on the phone told me that they could fix it in 5 minutes. When I got there, the mechanic said it would take an hour to fix it (and $150) because of the age of the car.
I give it three stars because all of the people I talked to were friendly and the mechanic put the windshield wipers I bought on my car for free.
Just wish that I had known about the locks before I made the trip.

My husband and I traded in our 2 owners choice Mini's for the new 2012 Countryman this past Saturday 4/21. My husband had the 2009 Mini Cooper S w/John Cooper Works package and I had the 2009 Clubman. Best car ownership experience of my life and loved my Clubman but wanted to step up to a 4-door and the back seats adjust and are like the front, and it has little more room and the added pickup is great.

I was going to custom order my new Mini Countryman S when the competent team of Jason & Riley tag-teamed us and I ended up getting a Countryman off the lot: a georgeous absolute black metallic w/white top & white stripes on the bonnet and interior blond leather. I wanted the Garmen Nav and white boot stripes added and they told me I'd have to have it done later on and they'd give me a loaner. On previous research visits, Jason really knew the car and when Riley was busy, he took us on test drives and showed us all the features. When we came to have our '09 Mini's appraised, Riley got that done and did us some numbers and looked up possible autos ready to ship off the line. Then when we finally talked numbers Jason was there to go through. Long story short, they were both amazing and invested a bunch of time with us. They surprised me and "unveiled" my new Countryman with the Nav & stripes added. Also a plus, Chris at BMW/Mini financing really knew his info and they have a computer paper signing system which cut the financials time in half. All in all a wonderful experience! Oh, and the 1 year free subscription Sirus Satellite Radio is wonderful. I love, love, love my new Countryman!!!!

I just bought my new mini Cooper from here. I actually decided to go with the "build your own" and Jason (Williamson) was my savior there helping me every step of the way without any pushiness that is all too common in car buying.
He sent me emails throughout the building, traveling and shipping ( including the ships name) of my new baby.
Thoroughly professional staff here yet friendly and fun to be around...they all make the car buying process fun...I almost forgot how much money I was parting with ;)
What stands out the most that even once I had committed to the "buy" Jason stayed in touch and treated me and my mini like we were special and not just another customer.
I can't rate my experience here high enough

I drove my MINI out here from Los Angeles and I was a bit skeptical of what I'd get from a "Texas MINI Dealer".  However, I was pleasantly surprised.  The sales staff was helpful although I was in for service.  After hanging out in their cool lounge for an hour, my 2011 R56 S had new oil and was bathed!  I would definitely recommend this dealership and setting an appointment for your visit!

John M. | 2011-07-23

Yep, I bought a Mini here.

My experience was excellent and my salesman, John, was a patient professional who was neither pushy nor snooty.  He was a super guy, in fact.

I love the Mini and this dealership treated me very well.  The whole purchase experience was easy-going and pleasant.  Highly recommended if you are in the market for a Mini.
