Reviews on H & L Auto Imports

The review posted by the person who references me directly is likely the owner - do not pay attention to his review. The wording of his review mirrors almost exactly a conversation I had with the owner, so I'm almost positive he posted a review for his own business.

If you want proof that what I said in my previous review was true, message me and I'll gladly scan the receipts and emails I've sent to lawyers about this problem. I will show you pictures of my car missing the part I said it was missing, and I will show you the receipt from the body shop I used to get it repaired. There's no "scam" here.

The other review says that the mechanic will fix any problems that you have, but that is a lie. Before threatening to sue them (because, why would I want to do that? I've never sued anyone), I asked them if they would fix the problem and they refused. That is the only reason I threatened legal action. They told me I had bought the car and that it was my problem. The refused to refund me any money for the car, and refused to cover any of the costs for repair.

Unfortunately it would have cost me even more to hire a lawyer to get my money back from these people than I needed from them (about $3,000), so I was forced to go out of pocket to pay for the damages. The idea that I was trying to scam them to make them pay for a well-documented problem with my car is absurd. Again, I'm happy to send any of you my documentation.

After determining that legal action was too expensive, I attempted to file complaints with both the city and the Better Business Bureau. But H&L is (tellingly) not even registered with the Better Business Bureau and so they refused to handle my complaint.

Deal with these people at your own risk. And if you do, don't just check the mechanics of the car. Check the entire body for previous signs of unreported damage. I am 100% certain that my car was totalled at some point and they did not report it. I have since moved away from Dallas, and given the car to my mother. She continues to have problems with the back end even after $3,000 of repair.

Its a really good car dealership to deal with, they have their own mechanic and they fix the car or anything thats wrong before you buy it. I could even take the car to my own mechanic before i bought it and they checked it out and everything to make sure i'm making a worth while purchase.  They aren't shady or anything, I've read all the legal documents i've signed so I can get the car, no hidden fees or hidden disclaimers, all straight out, just for you.
Just good people over all, don't give it a second look for looking a car. I got a phenomenal deal for the car I just got probably 2 grand under the asking price at a regular used car dealer ship.
I've heard the other story to Jessica H's and it seems like shes angry that she didn't get to scam these people. The power of a bad review is strong on yelp and she knows that.
