bought my terrain here about 2 years ago and this is the only place I bring my car to do oil changes. the service dept ppl are very nice and I like that they're open until 7 and on the weekends otherwise it'd be very difficult for me to get the maintenance done on the car.

I recently purchased a pickup from Gateway and got a great deal. They gave me an excellent trade in on my vehicle and bottom dollar on my truck. I read another review that said she had to give a lot of credit information up front but my experience was just the opposite.

Once I found my truck and we agreed on price, only then, did I give them my credit information. Also, I found out that they are family owned and operated, not a big chain store looking to make a buck.

Truly glad I stopped and shopped here. BTW, it's a bright red GMC Texas Edition truck. Sweet ride, great dealership.

Customer service in their service department was top-notch. I will give Gateway that--everyone was great to deal with in person and on the phone. However, I have a hard time when I come in with a problem with a noise, they say something needs to be replaced (not covered under warranty, of course), and $450 later the noise is still there. Bring it in again, they "fix" the noise, but the next day it's not only still there, but worse. I call, and suddenly it's another $400.

Needless to say, I went to another dealership.

I as looking for a pickup to replace the one that I had stolen so I have been in the market for a few weeks.  I spent had spent several hours in another dealership the previous Saturday and did not have a positive experience after almost 5 hours of unsuccessful shopping and negotiating. I was dreading another wasted Saturday.  

I found a truck that seemed to be what I was looking for and at a good price so I filled out the Internet interest form on a Sunday.  Monday morning I not only got an email but also a courtesy call to follow up with what I was looking for.  I explained that I was heading out of town on business and wouldn't be home until the end of the week and to check back with me if the truck was still available.  I got a call from, Steve, in used sales on Friday just a he said he would.  We set up for me to come in mid Saturday morning to look at the truck.  When we arrived the truck was waiting on us to take it for a spin just as Steve said.  

The truck was actually better than it was advertised online and after driving it we agreed to buy it.  Steve took us to finance and Marci was helpful and quick in getting everything processed.  My wide and I were driving away in our "new" truck in less that 2 hours start to finish with a FULL tank of gas and free car washes for life.  

Having purchased several vehicles over the years this is by far one of the quickest and easiest purchases I have ever made.  I will tell everyone about the great experience I had and if I ever need another while I will start here!   Definitely  ask for Steve for a great salesperson!

Worst experience ever with a dealership. Went there about 3 weeks ago. They collected ALL of our information before they would negotiate on the car. I thought we were going to end up buying the car, so I didn't mind taking the time to speed up the back end. They told me we could talk about price once they gathered our info. Never experienced anything like it before, so I should have questioned it more. When we started "negotiating" price, they wouldn't budge. I said I didn't want the car if they weren't going to budge. We left and ended up getting a car elsewhere for a much lower price. I was fine with leaving it as a bad experience for myself; however, after I just received a notice that they ran my credit, I feel inclined to warn everybody about this dealership. I don't know why they ran our credit. We never made it to the financing department. Very shady business.

Called us to say vehicle was ready but when went to pick up, couldn't find the paperwork. Finger pointing and arguments ensued in front of us between service mechanic and service advisor and payment clerk. Finally, interrupting them, insisted they find paperwork and get us the car, but all we got was a snotty response from the mechanic and unwillingness to do something as simple as find the paperwork, though they said the car was ready. Bottomline: No car, because they wouldn't release it without the paperwork and service mechancs were gone for the day (though they said we could pick up anytime by 7 p.m. and it was about 5:30 p.m.). Only after much insistence did they lend a car (a big truck actually when my wife drive a normal sized auto and isn't used to a monster truck!).  The service advisor promised to call first thing in the morning, saying she got in a 7 a.m.  But the next day, no call by 8:30 a.m. and wife had business appointment.  In the middle of that, half way across town, they called to say the car was ready and paperwork done, but she couldn't get it back till later when she was available. Finally got car and did receive a 10% discount for our trouble. Service manager did call and apologize but this conduct was completely unprofessional. To be fair, have had other repairs with no problems and good service advisor.  Think the problem was this service advisor who knew nothing about cars and didn't seem to know her job or care about customer.

My mother brought her vehicle in to have it checked out because her change oil light was on when she knew it wasn't time for an oil change. So, she asked if they could tell her what the issue was and she was informed that her throttle body needed to be cleaned, which she approved for them to do. Once she made it home her check engine light came on, she took the vehicle back the next day and they kept the car for a day and a half and called her back and said that the throttle body needed to be replaced and that she needed motor mounts an extremely high expense. Long story short the service rep, Josh, was not to interested in understanding our point of being charged to clean the throttle body two days before and then being called to say the part needs to be completely replaced. As I explained to him we feel that they should have said replace up front and then he responded anything can happen to an high mileage vehicle and cleaning the throttle body is a routine maintenece. But, in the end Allen/Alan, the service manager, confirmed that when my mother original came in that the situation should have been handled differently...vs. Josh saying that the throttle body needed to be clean and that was the issue he should have told her well you can have the throttle body cleaned first to see if that will resolve the issue but there are no gurantees that it will and the decision would have been her lose.

At the end of the day the service manager gave her hope that the dealership service department was not just trying to hustle her out of money as the old myth suggests.
