Reviews on Dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep

When I needed a new truck for work, I did what most people do and researched online. I received an email right away from Dan Lowery at Dallas Dodge and a phone call minutes later. Nothing pushy, just wanted to see if I needed help selecting a truck or if I had any questions.
I told him what I was looking for (crew cab, nav, etc) and I thought I'd have to check in with him in a few days (like I had to do for my wife's Honda).
Dan called me back in 15min! He had found the exact truck I was looking for! I made an appointment and sure enough the truck was pulled up and ready for me to take a look at it. Dan took the time to go over some of the options and we went for a test drive.
When we got back, he honored the price we had discussed (no bait and switch!) and it was nice not to have to fight for what was promised in the first place.
Dan made the car buying experience painless. He was so good at finding out what I needed and what I didn't, that I wish I could buy everything from him, real estate, different makes, appliances, etc :-)
I would highly recommend Dan Lowery for your next vehicle purchase.

I purchased a new vehicle from Dallas Dodge and I cannot recommend it to others. The salesman that handled my purchase was not knowledgable. I knew more about the specs than he did. I never corrected him when he was wrong.  I had done my research and all I needed was to look one over in person and do a test drive.

The salesman's moronic banter was annoying. I indulged him only to help the process keep moving along.

Service has been unpleasant.  One to two hours for oil changes is ridiculous. The first time they changed my oil they forgot to screw a part back in. I was dragging a plate around for a couple of days before I noticed and went back.

The building is in dire need of repair. Look up at the ceiling and you'll see evidence of dozens of leaks in the roof.

Susanne G. | 2015-03-11

Oil changes take longer and longer everytime I come here, doesn't matter what time or day. 1.5 hrs is not an express oil change. I miss the days when I got put I. under or about 30 minutes.

Dallas Dodge has the worst service  had my oil drove my car for a week without having a oil cap almost burned my engine because they didnt put it on and when you call they don't answer and when I get to talk to someone and told them the problem and when I was coming so they would order one they didn't been waiting for over and hour and they don't care

Do not take your car or truck to Dallas Dodge,Took my truck in four times in four years for the rear end differential, every 11 to 13 months it goes out, they do not know how to repair rear ends right, now they tell me that it's my responsibility to pay and get it fixed

I had my 99 Dodge Ram towed to Dallas Dodge on a Friday, wouldn't start. Finally on Tuesday Salvador Sosa calls me and says the injector pump and ECM has to be replaced and it will cost $ 7300.00.  They charged me $ 288.00 for diagnostics but I noticed the truck never left the parking lot. Very suspicious of what they told me so I had the truck picked up and toed to ALL-PRO DIESEL SERVICES IN CADDO MILLS.

The diesel mechanic at All Pro had the truck running in about one hour and said it was only a loose connection in the wiring to the injector.

Dallas Dodge service people obviously committed a fraudulent bogus repair diagnosis and this is against the law. I asked them to refund the $ 288.00 fee plus wrecker charge of $ 255.00 and they just started making stupid excuses and continued to confirm their diagnostic claim.

I am going to file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's office for Deceptive Practices and pursue fraud charges against Dallas Dodge.  This seems to be a common practice for these people as I see other complaints against them.
Maybe we should all get together and file a class action suit against them. This dishonest practice must be stopped by these unscrupulous Dealerships.

I will not stop my pursuit of this wrongful act by Dallas Dodge until justice is rightfully

Susan M. | 2014-10-03

DO NOT do business with these people.  The Dallas police department has more than one complaint about them.  Do not sign a conditional delivery form.   They take your down payment; will not file the paperwork to complete your financing, even when your loan is approved.  Within a few days, they make a false report to the  police that you have not made timely payments and REPO your car.  There are plenty of reputable car dealerships in the Metroplex, don't buy yourself a headache by doing business with Dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep.

I recently purchased a Grand Cherokee Limited from Dallas Dodge.
I found a very good deal through internet sale offer and contacted Steve Evans who is the internet sales manager. He was one of the nicest person so far I found in any of my dealer experience. Not only he had shown the vehicle that I interested, he also walked me through other vehicle options which fit my budget. Steve also introduced me to his new GM Jon, who is very nice and friendly. They did not beat around the bush about the price, like any other dealers, they were to the point and pricing was very reasonable and definitely the best deal around any of dealers in DFW area.
I was completely given the liberty to choose my own decision and sales team did not pressurize or force me to buy a vehicle.
I have not given my vehicle for service yet so I can't really comment about their servicing as of now. Hope that would be good too.

On a nut-shell, it was overall a very good experience and I would definitely recommend this dealer to others.

Christina C. | 2014-09-06

Please do not go to this place. They made a deal with me on a Jeep Grand Cherokee and when we entered the finance office the price went up by over $2000 dollars and even above the price advertised online! The sales manager (Todd) and I agreed on a price, both signed on it, then he later said he could not honor the deal because they would lose too much money. WHAT?!? Why would you make the deal in the first place?  and then try to sneak in the money later. Finance office was a complete joke, Donald was very condescending and made it seem like it was our problem and that we should just be okay with the price increase. I cannot believe this dealership would not honor the deal that they made, and they completely ruined my buying experience, I gladly walked out after they refused to make good on our deal. It's really unfortunate because our salesman was phenomenal and a joy to work with, but his managers have no clue what they are doing and just truly don't care about the customer.

Have just had my second bad service experience at Dallas Dodge in less than a year and it will be my last.

The check engine light and gas cap warning were on. (Had replaced the gas cap less than three months before because of same warning. When it came on again, decided to take it to Dallas Dodge in case the repair was covered by the warranty.)

Made an appointment on line for 9:00 am. The service advisor that was assigned when I made the appointment wasn't working. Another advisor did the initial write up and said that someone from the assigned advisors team would call me with an update. At 2:00 pm had not heard from anyone so called the Service Department asking for an update. I was told by the guy who answered the call that he would find out who my service advisor was and would have them call me immediately.  At 3:30 pm I called back because I had still not heard from anyone. I was connected with a service advisor who said that they were still running diagnostics. Pointing out that they have had my Jeep for six and a half hours already, I asked when I could expect an update. The service advisor got snippy and said she would call me as soon as they updated the board. I asked when they started working on my Jeep and was told "after lunch."  (Why did I make an appointment and bring in it in at 9:00 am if they weren't even going to look at it until after lunch or more likely after I called the first time.). I asked the service advisor to stop work, have my jeep pulled around and I would be there in 10 minutes to pick it up. She then hung up on me.

I called back and asked to speak to a manager who didn't seem to care that I had received such horrible customer service.

I won't be back for service or to purchase another vehicle from Dallas Dodge.

Sonya D. | 2014-07-07

I am so not happy with this dealership's service department.  First, I schedule service on my truck for the appointment time of 9:00.  I get there at 8:00 so that my truck will have time to cool off so they can hopefully start about 9:30.  I look outside about 10:00 and my truck is still sitting where they placed it when I checked it in.  I was told that a minor tune up with an oil change should only take about 2.5-3 hours.  I did not leave until almost 2:00.  And as usual they did not reset my oil change signal indicator and I had oil leakage from the change because they did not clean it properly.  Is it too much to ask to ever have a decent experience when going in for  a service appointment at this dealership  I have had numerous issues with this service department and I wish I had never ever purchased a service warranty there so I would not have to go back.  I had an awesome buying experience and I love my truck but the service has been the worst I have ever had.  Not happy....

Michael H. | 2014-07-06

Gave these guys three strikes and they struck out.
Worst sales team ever, lacks knowledge & people skills.
Service department is a joke. I called to have a hitch receiver installed on my Jeep Trailhawk (purchased elsewhere) and made an appointment. When I arrived I had to get out of my car and wonder throughout the garage for someone to help me (there were a lot of employees standing around not wanting to offer assistance).  They then had me jump throughout the hoops again, why did I make an appointment if you are NOT going to honor it.  As it turns out they didn't have the part needed. Which would have saved me a lot of time if the girl on the phone would have said so when I asked!!  This was third attempt at the dealership.
The first two attempts, I really wanted to buy a car but they couldn't figure out how to sell me one. The first sales guy ripped the upholstery when showing me a "feature". I'm not buying something I just watched you jerk and yank on until it ripped in front of my eyes.
The sec time I went it, I know exactly what I wanted (should have made the sales guy job pretty easy -nope). He left me alone for 45 minutes in his office without an explanation why. I took my DL (which I wish they wouldn't keep from you while your there) and left.

Never going back.

Tommy K. | 2014-04-25

1.  It took 1.5 hours to get an oil change... AT 7AM IN THE MORNING... no business.

2.  They tried to sell me tires the entire time after I repeatedly said not now.

4.  It took them an hour to reset the battery.

5.  They reset the battery because they couldn't figure out what they did to make it lock up in the first place.

6.  Emailed the service manager, no response (as of 4 hours later).  I figured this would warrant a fast response.

7.  They didn't even perform the free car wash, alignment check, and a few other small things that were to be included with the coupon that tricked me into using them in the first place.

Only decent thing was the service rep handling me was nice... not extremely knowledgeable or truthful, but nice.

3 business days later...
Should I be surprised that I haven't heard from you after emailing you within an hour of your comment requesting me to do so?

Absolutely ridiculous.

I really wish these tools would remove me from their mailing list. The last time I was there was about 3 years ago and that was because I had to go there for them to make a repair that was under warranty. Before that, I hadn't been there in about 3 or 4 years. I gave them three strikes and they struck out.

As everyone knows, if you are going for an oil change on Saturday, you have to get there very early so you can be parked in front of the bay when they open. I normally would be there parked at 6:30am on Sat. Well, the last time I had them do an oil change, I swear I was there from 6:30 to about 9:00. What took so long? Glad, you asked. Well, not only did I need an oil change but I needed a new battery. Ok, fine. I just didn't think it would take that damn long to do an oil change and change my battery. I was the FIRST person there and one would think I would have been out before people that arrived an hour or so after me.

Normally, when you go there for service, they give you a beeper so that customer service can beep you when your car is ready. Well, the service guy didn't give me one, even though I asked for one. He *assured* me he would come and get me when my car was ready. Well, guess what, he never did. Customer service kept paging this tool over and over again. I think the ladies in customer service knew I was pissed off. Don't assure me of shit when you can't do it. That was strike number three, and I hadn't been back since other than to fix something under warranty.

Oh, I forgot to mention that while I was there getting my under warranty stuff done, they tried to sell me on getting me brakes and tune up done. I literally laughed in the guy's face. I told him absolutely not. I took my little Jeep and went down the road to Jordan's Car Care who has serviced my car since I stopped going to Jeep Dodge.

Jacqueline C. | 2013-12-30

Dan was so accommodating and patient while we tried to figure out which, if any, kind of jeep works for us. We quickly drove three models and learned a lot about each one without spending all day at the dealership. Plus, we didn't feel too pressured to walk out with one.

Drew Z. | 2013-10-22

Not really sure why car shopping hasn't gone the way of so many other businesses, but they are sticking to their aggressive commission based approach.  I guess it is what it is.  It is nice though now where you can get so much information off the internet, you can at least be significantly better informed going in that you were back in the day.
This is a giant dealership and the people there seemed nice.

Nafeisa S. | 2013-07-22

LeRoy, my 2011 Charger and Nemo, my 2013 Dart (yes my cars have names) will only be touched by Dallas Dodge.  It trust this dealership 100% with my cars!  My Service Advisor, Bill Marshall is simply the best!  He tells the truth, keeps me posted and always goes the extra mile to make sure I am happy,

Matthew C. | 2013-06-27

I cannot say it any better than Bacon E did. Please never go to a dealership for service unless it is either free or impossible to service anywhere else.

I just bought a used low mileage Nissan Versa from them today and had a great experience. (See my review on Trophy Nissan for a not so great experience). I had communicated via email with James, and a nice surprise when I showed up was that James was actually the person who sold me the car. Usually dealerships have some sort of internet manager who herds people in and drops them off to the grimy sales guy. James already had the car pulled around for me, did not make me wait and was up front about the car and the pricing. He even gave me a $250 off coupon upon arrival.

The negotiation process was no different than any other dealership, but their sales guys do not pressure and we agreed on a fair price for the car, which was discounted because I would need to put new tires on it. The first out the door price they brought me was list price + TTL, not list price + ext warranty, dealer add ons, etc. etc. crap you do not need. Very straightforward process and they accepted my counter offer and we signed paperwork after having been in there 30 minutes. And no, I did not get hosed and that's why I had such a great experience. I have worked on cars for 4+ years and had been researching used cars for about 3 months prior to the purchase. I got a great deal and basically paid blue book value for the car + tax. Overall the best part of the sale was when I signed and was on to the finance office, James automatically said he would have it detailed and a full tank of gas put in it. I know detailing is pretty standard, but most places you have to negotiate just to get them to fill the tank up.

Bottom Line: I'm not a huge fan of Dodge/Chryselr/Jeep cars, but honestly with the experience I had I would consider buying from them when I am ready.

Don't EVER take your car here for service.  Here's what they tried to pull on me (unsuccessfully) recently--I took my truck in to have an alternator installed.  They called me later that day (when I wasn't at the dealership to verify this) to inform me that my rear brake pads were down to metal to metal.........the truck only had about 50k miles on it, so I said UH NO.  Upon later inspection to verify this, the pads looked brand new.  Then, on the same trip, they tried to charge me for an "air conditioner freon regharge".......not only was this not authorized, but it was never even discussed.  They simply tried to tack it on hoping I would gladly pay the $186--for a service which I highly doubt was ever even performed.  I told them how absurd this was and they wasted no time removing from the bill, nor did they try to balk about it.  So if you take your car there for service, make sure it's warranty work or recall work and nothing else.  ANY other service they "recommend" you perform should be SHOWED to you in person so they can physically show you what the problem is.  DO NOT authorize any service over the phone that was not previously discussed when you brought it in!  They are a bunch of low-life crooks in the service dept, so be sure you proceed with EXTREME caution getting your car serviced there.

Lee H. | 2012-11-09

Don't bother making an appointment. Called tues to make appt for Friday early am. Got a call 2:30 telling me they couldn't get to my car cause they were backed up and I had to bring it in the next day.  this is twice this has happened to me.

Karen W. | 2012-10-18

If I could give them no stars I would. I bring my jeep in to get serviced all the time. There was one person that I could trust to make sure my car was correct but they are gone. Well my low tire pressure light was on I took my car and was told that due to the weather the tire pressure could change but there was nothing wrong. Less than three weeks later I'm told my car is out really out of alignment.  First after the shock I'm pissed because that "tech" told me that crap. I work retail so I know the I'm sorry for that but that still doesn't help that I could have had it taken care of that day. I wish I was closer to where I bought my jeep then I would never take my car there. I like my jeep and for "her" sake this was the last time Dallas Dodge will ever touch her.

Smidge P. | 2012-08-20

the service center is run by people who neither respect your time nor theirs. i'd rather pay more and get treated right than ever return here. i wouldnt trust any of the positives reviews on here, they are all by people who work there.

Andrea H. | 2012-06-24

leased a car from here 2 days ago and i must say this is the best dealership I've ever been to.  Cris Garza was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable about the Jeep Grand Cherokees and found me the perfect car at a perfect price.  Everything went smooth from the first phone call to driving off the lot.  I would buy another car from them for sure!

Sam H. | 2012-05-04

Your guys discovered a problem with my truck that TWO quick-lube places failed to find. Thank you! Made my day, See you guys in another 3000 miles...

Brian C. | 2012-01-20

This is the best most honest dealership I have ever visited. The employees were very helpful and treated me with respect. I had what I thought was a major problem. It turned out to be a quick fix. The guys in parts rock!

Thanks Dallas Dodge

As of today the place has 7 reviews.  All are 1 star, and for the service department.

Here's a reminder from a car guy:
DO NOT GO TO DEALERS FOR SERVICE - unless you have to because of some sort of warranty

I just bought a new Jeep here.  The only reason why I'll bring it to their service department is because they're giving me some free oil changes.  That's it.  Aside from that I'll do the work myself or go to another place.  Read my list for auto places in Dallas.

Buying a new car here?  Wasn't too bad.  Could have been a lot worse.  Seriously - think about car sales and you'll realize 4 stars is as good as it gets for that business model.  I mean they do have a guy at all times waiting in the parking lot to jump on you.  They do have the typical salesman based business model.

But, they're really not too bad.  Real helpful with communicating via phone & email.  Stayed late for me twice.  Gave me a fair price on my Jeep and my trade-in.  When I got the thing it had over $1000 of extras that I didn't even know it had.  That was a nice surprise.  Helped me set up the bluetooth & radio, too.

If you want to buy from them - they're fair & easy to do business with.

The new Mrs H. | 2011-09-25

I hate that I even have to give this place any stars at all! We took our 2007 dodge calibur in because it was making a knocking noise under the hood. Well the service manager is extremely rude, ignores you when he can clearly see you standing in line, and isn't very helpful when explaining your service issues. They over charge you for parts (we needed a new battery that usually costs 100-120 bucks and he charged us 189 for a generic not-top-of-the-line one AND tacked on a 50.00 install fee!!) My advice to you is to look around on Yelp and find another dodge dealer or even a decent mechanic. This place is a scam and will rape your ass on fees and unnecessary repairs!!

Jamie A. | 2011-07-21

I've never written a bad review before but honestly I have warn others after receiving the WORST customer service ever by Dallas Dodge Jeep Chrysler.  All in all, if you're OK with repeated un-returned phone calls, descriptive "they're working on it" responses (not knowing the issue at hand and/or giving approval for such work), explanation of service costs (ignoring the fact that you have a warranty), unnecessary markup on a Jeep MSRP parts (not including installation, had verified with my original dealership where I purchased the vehicle as well as another Dallas area dealership), having your service rep take the day off and NO ONE is assigned to handle open issues from the previous day only to leave at closing time with your vehicle to have the service issue reoccur after 20 miles, then by all means take your vehicle here. Do yourself a favor and do NOT take your vehicle to Dallas Dodge Jeep Chrysler. It's a shame Yelp  makes you choose at least one star for a business rating.

Dawn R. | 2011-05-18

As long as the manager who runs the service department it is in charge of it this dealership can never be a Five Stare dealership in my opinion. He exemplifies the worst in customer service and satisfaction, also in professionalism. It's sad, because my Chrysler has been a wonderful car. I have nearly 145,000 miles on it and it's never given me any problem. I had always intended to buy a new Chrysler when I was ready for a new car. But now I guess I'll just go on down to the Nissan dealership in Mesquite when I'm ready for a new ride. :( Oh well there's $25,000 that Dallas Dodge won't be getting from my next sale. That being said, the Sales dept might be A#1 still.... they were when I bought my car. Sad how one person can bring a whole dealership down.

Mike S. | 2010-11-30

Do NOT bring your car to get repairs here.  They not only WAY overcharge just to get a diagnostic of your problems, but they will also try to screw you over in any way possible to make a fast buck.  They tried to pull a bait and switch trap on me by charging the over $100 diagnostic fee for EVERYTHING they found wrong with my car.  I threw a huge fit at this ridiculous charge because that is not the agreement I signed and the manager finally gave in and told me I was right and charged me 1 fee for diagnostics.  My repairs were over 100 times the cost I got at a local mechanic shop and the repair work they did there was so shoddy I had to get it done again at the local shop in Richardson which did it right the first time.
