History

Established in 1994.

In 1994 the American Dream was alive and thriving. On the hopes of supporting his new and young family, this entrepreneur started out to put his plan into action. After speaking to a few of his friends already in the car business the decision was simple, he was to open his own car lot. NFW  came to be. Over the past decade we have helped provide easy financing solutions for people who have felt the squeeze of hard times. We have many customers that have been with us for over 10+ years. We enjoy working with people to work towards a deal that is favorable for all parties. Although i can't say that every situation has been ideal we have tried our best to work towards an outcome that is fair for all parties. Many of our customers recognize and appreciate those efforts. While others have left and tried other avenues towards their goals and we wish them all the best of luck. We look forward to working with Austinites and local citizens for another 20 years. Come on by and lets make a deal!

I went here seriously looking to purchase a vehicle with $5000 for a down payment.   I found a car that I liked here for $9,500, wanted to put $5000 down and finance the rest over 6 months.  They told me that they'd need to change the price to $12,500 to finance it!  That is insane!  A $3000 finance charge for something I would have paid off in 6 months!  Needless to say, I DID NOT buy a vehicle here.  I don't recommend you go here if you need any sort of of financing.

Avoid like the plague.  I only went here because I had bought a really nice Volvo from them a few years back, which I had to sell because it was a wagon and very expensive on the gas.
Fast forward to 2011 and I need an inexpensive used car, so I think of these guys.  Things have changed.  I dealt with a very grandfatherly type man who seemed very nice, down to earth and old Austin-ish.  I found an old Camry, Toyotas are always great, right?
I checked out everything my friend who knows about cars told me to check and it seemed okay, the mileage was low, it ran very smoothly and there was a huge stack of maintenance records in the glove box.  I thought I had it made.
Fast forward a few weeks and the car is overheating, I had to get a new radiator.  Then it's shaking, so I have to get new ignition wires.  Not to mention, I did some recommended maintenance.  By now, I've spent over a thousand bucks on this car and mechanics are telling me I will have to spend one to two thousand over the next several months to keep the car in working order.  I can't really afford this, so I'll probably drive it until it just breaks down, falls apart, whatever, then look at having something financed.
Fast forward to this week.  I still haven't received registration and plates in the mail, and my temporary tag is days from expiring.  I call them up and they tell me they're moving offices and will call me back in five minutes, then hang up on me.  Hours later, I get a message from their receptionist who informs me they have found my plates and I can pick them up "any time."
Fast forward to today, Saturday, the only time I have free to pick them up.  I go to their old address, no one is there and there's a sign with the new address. I drive the ten minutes there.  Only one mechanic is there who tells me the receptionist will be back in an hour with the plates.  I'm like, she said they already have them here.  He's like, I don't know, they just moved here, she'll be back in an hour.
In an hour, I return, the receptionist is there, and she tells me I have to go  to the old office because the owner is now there and has my plates.
So I drive there and the owner's son is there, who looks like he would rather die than help me.  He grunts something about here's your plates, sorry, and looks at the floor.
I am now in the process of reporting them to the BBB.  But I wish I had just never heard of this place, avoid at all costs!  They are now located at 4421 S 1st.
