My husband and I recently experienced a bit of an ordeal. Long story short, we brought our Countryman in to MINI of Austin for service--to get a tire replaced--and found in the evening, after we picked it up, mere minutes before the dealership closed, that our garage door opener was missing. (We also had our visors replaced due to a recall issue.) Without our garage door opener, we were unable to get into our house. We also couldn't just stay the night somewhere else, as we have dogs.

The woman at reception (I apologize for not remembering her name) was kind and extremely helpful, even though we kept her at work past closing. She called the service manager, who called our service advisor, Scott Snyder, who came all the way from his home to search for our garage door opener amongst the recalled parts. He found it, thankfully, and we were able to get in to our house (and let our dogs out).

Scott and the receptionist went above and beyond to help us out, and we couldn't be more appreciative. The service performed on our vehicle (minus the garage door opener going missing) was top-notch, too.

To sum up: MINI of Austin is staffed by great people who provide great service.

The service department is the best. They are always accommodating and quick. Brought my mini in because the tires all said low and they got it done within 15 minutes. They also have a nice coffee machine.

I make the drive all the way from San Antonio to here to get regular maintenance done on my car. Why? Because they know how to take care of customers and provide quality service. My SA Roy is always very helpful and informative. He continuously goes out of his way to make sure my car gets taken cared for. I took my MINI in for a checkup on a bad bulb that had been bugging me for months. I was given an estimated wait time of 1.5 hours, which they held up to, including a car wash.

The waiting lounge was very nice, clean, comfortable, and they even have PCs for people to use with internet! Amazing! One of the salesmen made small talk with me to pass the time and checked on the status of my car too.

Overall great experience with the service department.

I went to Mini of Austin back in September and wasn't sure what this experience would be like. The last time I bought a car, a Ford Fusion at a Dodge dealer in Arizona, my experience was not great as they treated me like I was stupid. Stephen de los Santos greeted me and was nice and friendly during the whole experience. He didn't treat me like a customer, he treated me like a friend which was great! He made sure that I understood everything that was going on and showed me everything that was available. I bought a Certified 2012 Countryman which I love. Anytime I have questions, I have e-mailed  the dealership and/or called service and everyone has been great! I can't wait to see what happens in the next years of me owning my mini!

I've owned a MINI before and loved it, but I do not recommend MINI of Austin.  We purchased a car from them in December of 2013 and have had nothing but problems with it.  We've spent over a thousand in repairs already, most likely for pre-existing problems.  Also, we've found they were dishonest and our Sales contact, Damon, lied to us about the previous owner.  He told us the previous owner was a local from Austin, but we've just discovered it was purchased by the dealership from an auction in Georgia.  I'm not sure how they can get away with lying about a car's backstory, and it's a shame that the old slimey car salesman trope has been proven correct in this instance.

I can't say enough good things about Mini of Austin and Damon Whitmer.

I had a very bad, pushy sales experience at a different dealership and it had turned me off from buying a car/dealerships for a while. This was a big decision for me and I didn't appreciate being treated like a target.

Damon was responsive and knowledgeable from the start. He listened to what I wanted, made suggestions when appropriate and treated me with respect (a huge plus being a young adult female trying to buy a car). I even had my boyfriend with me, and he always addressed me as the buyer - which shouldn't be an issue, but I have heard stories from many a friend about being ignored if there is a man with you.

He showed us a few things on the car before letting us test drive it on our own - another plus. It was comfortable being able to drive it myself without a sales pitch in the background. Got back into the dealership and looked at the inventory. Damon was extremely thorough and offered to double and triple check the inventory to make sure that they had the right car for me.

He was still very responsive even after I left after 4 hours of just test driving and pricing options and not buying anything. I didn't feel like a number and the love of the car and the great service brought me back in a week later to purchase. Charlie in financing was great - went over all the options of warranties, but never felt pressured. He let me sit there with the calculator and figure out my budget and what I could afford. He even worked with me to get one thing canceled as I had a minor freakout after purchasing the car/signing my life away haha.

I honestly can't wait to go in for the first oil change because the atmosphere of that place is so great and you feel like you're really being taken care of. No pushy, take-your-keys, call-you-60-times salesmen here. Just good people selling good cars. Thank you Damon, Charlie and Mini of Austin!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I had the best car buying experince ever. I purchased a 2013 Mini Cooper HT and have absolutley loved everything about this car. Now besides the car I would recommend this place to anyone, family and friends. Marco was the most unbelievable salesman I have ever dealt with. We had the easiest, least stressful car-buying experience ever with Stephen at MINI of Austin.  We never felt pressured but we always felt that Stephen understood what we wanted.  The entire dealership is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.  Our first visit was very low key and when we came back for more info, we were welcomed  by Stephen and his colleagues.  If Stephen didn't have the answer to a question, he quickly found the answer for us.  He followed us shortly after we took ownership of our new MINI and was genuinely invested in our level of satisfaction.  Highly recommend MINI of Austin and Stephen, our sales person.

I would talk about how much I like my Mini Clubman, but this is about the dealership, right? So yeah.

We bought the Mini 3 years ago, pretty much to the day, from Robert Tyler, who is a delight to deal with. He's no pressure, super fun, plus this dude REALLY knows his cars. He's been in touch over the years to check in and make sure all is well, plus when I've brought in the car for service he remembers me and we have a quick chat.

During the purchase, once we got turned over to the Finance person, it was, well, a finance discussion, although a more pleasant one than my previous car purchase finance conversations have been. In general, people at Mini of Austin seem to be somehow more genuine / less "salesy" than people I've dealt with at other car dealerships. Either way, we didn't get that annoying "aaaaaand the undercoating will run you another $500" pitch, which was nice.

Mini has a 3-year warrantee thing (or at least they did three years ago) so the first three years of stuff was pretty much covered top to tail - not that we got much out of that, as pretty much nothing went wrong with the car (knock on wood). About a month before the warrantee was due to expire I took the car in to the guys at Groovy for an objective opinion, and they said that the folks at Mini must know what they're doing - everything checks out 100%. Pretty slick.

When you do go in for service, it's not a bad place to wait. I like to wander the show floor and check out the new Minis (but I love mine so much that I've never been tempted). They have comfy chairs, computers if you want to check email, magazines, plus a Starbucks machine and sodas and cookies. And you can make appointments online, which I like.

Really the only downside for me is location - 183 and McNeil, which might be muy bueno for you. One man's treasure, as they say.

In April 2013, my beloved Pontiac Vibe was struck by a woman talking on a cellphone, as I turned into my driveway. I had gone a year without a car, having to share my husband's truck to get around. The thought of buying a new(er) car was stressful, but I decided I had waited long enough.

Last week I obtained a Capital One Blank Check to secure financing for my next car purchase. I first contacted Mini of Austin about a Mazda3 that seemed very much like what I wanted. I emailed back and forth with one of the Mini of Austin sales people about what I was looking for and my Blank Check. The Mini sales guy told me that they did not accept CO Blank Checks because their dealership had issues with getting paid. I told the sales guy I would let Capital One know that Mini of Austin wasn't going to honor the check (even though Mini of Austin was listed as an eligible dealership on Cap One's website). The Mini sales guy tried to interest me in pursuing their financing, and even said that they had other loans by Cap One. I refused-- I had the Blank Check in hand, and that's the way I wanted to go.

I decided to shop around at other dealerships, and that's how I ended up at Austin Infiniti.  I was able to reach a sales person via email-- Maurice Dancy. I told Maurice right off the bat that I wanted to use my Cap One Blank Check-- and he let me know that was doable. I ended up buying a Mazda3 from Austin Infiniti, using the Cap One Blank Check.  Mini of Austin lost me as a customer, and I will be sure to make sure to spread the word that if you have Capital One Blank Check as your financing, you should go elsewhere to buy a car.

I bought my first Mini Hardtop!! Mark McDaniel is the man! He has worked with me for a long time! Mark is very dedicated to helping his clients get the Mini they want. The entire dealership employees are here to help! I have loved my whole experience!!
Brad gave me ALL the in's about my Mini. I couldn't believe how many extras there are!!! The Mini Board computer was awesome...Brad said I'd be overwhelmed and should I forget something  i could call him anytime to refresh my memory.

If there were a way to give 0 stars, I would. I am boggled by the positive reviews here. My experience with the service dept. has been HORRIBLE. Need I say more than that I am trading in my 1 1/2 year old MINI Countryman for a 2010 Honda? Even out of warranty I am sure it will be more dependable--and surely I can find a better service dept. It took them a week to fix a recalled problem, and then they refused to pay for my rental during that period, giving me a lecture about using public transportation. They FINALLY agreed to reimburse me for the rental. That was over three months ago. Do you think I ever got the check? No. I am SO done with them. I had a Honda before and hopefully will have one by this time tomorrow!

***This is an update to my original review above. I originally gave one star but I did finally receive a check to reimburse me for the rental car. The service manager seemed eager to make things right, and I appreciate that -- I just wish that would have happened months ago. And I am now enjoying my used Honda Element.

I love my Mini, and Mini of Austin helps to keep my love at tip-top!

I have required several visits to this Dealership of the past few years, and I have never been let down.  The staff is very courteous and I am shocked that they even know my name without skipping a beat (I'm hoping that's a good thing.)

Mini as a company has been on top of recalls and I have always had ample notification to take my car in to have the issues rectified.  More often than not, they go out of their way to take care of the little things too...My car comes back washed, oil changed, wiper fluid refilled.  When service will take longer than a day, I am given a complementary loaner to drive too! (Mark is awesome)

Now, many people may be thinking "isn't this what all dealerships do?"  Well, in my experience, no.  They may provide standard services, but the way Mini attends to my issues and the attention to detail is superb.  On one instance, I made an offhand comment about a small crack in my seat was replaced without a second thought.  Timing chain tensioner was recalled...they noticed an oil leak and fixed it for free!

Of course, I don't want to over-inflate Mini's head either...Trying to make appointments over the phone can be a little tricky, and sometimes it is hard to get a call back.  I understand this is a busy dealership, but it wouldn't hurt to have a tad more initiative there.  Apparently the dealership is right under a grackle nesting area, because there are often bird-bombs all over the cars...I know this isn't their fault, and they do wash your car upon request, but I'm sure there is a better solution.

Outside of a few nitpicks, this is a stellar place with attentive (and patient) staff.  If you want an awesome car with equally awesome service, look no further...Just don't get the Clubman...I mean, come on...really?

Was hesitant to take my mini here in fear of  the dealership being more expensive than other places. After experiencing both, I feel the price is very similar if not the same, but the work and customer service received at mini of Austin is at a much higher level. I'll be taking my mini here from now on.

Just finished purchasing my second MINI from MINI of Austin and, as usual, they did a fantastic job taking care of me. I never felt like I was getting pressured or steered (excuse the pun) toward a different MINI than I absolutely wanted.

Ask for Marco Routledge. He was stellar and was very patient with me as I took more than the average amount of time in making the move to MINI number 2. He gave me a number of options, solid advice and, in the end, he and his manager, Jason, gave me a great deal.

Another reviewer called the 4-door MINI ugly. I couldn't disagree more. Maybe I should have moved to an SUV since I've got a family but I much preferred the larger MINI Countryman ride after testing the Honda CrossTour and CRV, the BMW X1, the Volkswagen Toureag and a couple of others.

My advice: take the MINI for a test drive. You won't be disappointed and I know that Marco will take good care of you.

I purchased my car in LA, so I can't speak for the sales aspect of this dealership, but I did just bring my car in for routine servicing yesterday- I was surprised by how kind the service man was. Mike had some of the best customer service I've ever experienced in this city (people here seem to lack that pretty often). He kept us updated, apologized when the car wash took awhile, and made the pretty boring experience as pleasant as it can be to wait in a dealership for 1.5 hours.

I bought my much-beloved 2007 MINI S in San Antonio as there was no MINI dealership here then. I schlepped back and forth to San Antonio a few times and was thrilled when they opened the dealership here. My warranty expired and just after that my turbo blew. Do you have ANY idea how expensive a MINI turbo is? I politely explained that I thought it ridiculous to lose such an expensive part just out of warranty and Mike B in service made some calls or worked other magic and MINI covered the repair. Since the warranty expired I've tried a few other "MINI-specific" mechanics in town and now I only go back to Mike at MINI. They are usually just a tad more expensive (and sometimes less!), you can arrange for a loaner, their estimates are frequently a bit over what you end up paying (yay!), and they are always concerned about making things "right". I don't "recommend" many people or places - I've been burned on that before - but I've been very, very happy with MINI of Austin for their service.

We recently bought a Mini Countryman S from Steven de los Santos.  I must say, it was the bext car-buying experience we've ever had.  We walked in (with our 15 month old baby no less) at 5:45 on Halloween night.  By 8:15 we walked out with our new car.  Seriously, it was THAT quick and easy!  We were so impressed with everyone there . . . from Lisa the receptionist who watched after our daughter  and played with her while we were going over the car, signing the paperwork, etc to Roy the service manager, to Brad, the product genius who went over all of the "bells and whistles" of our new car.  EVERYONE was wonderful.  We couldn't be happier, and would recommend Mini of Austin and Steven to anyone who is looking to buy a Mini.

I just recently purchased my Mini Countryman from this dealership.  Marco had to be the best car guy I've ever met.  In no way was he pushy or sneaky, he listened to what I was looking for and was supportive of any decisions I made.  This was my first time to buy a new car and it happened to be the easiest.  I walked in Friday and had my car by Saturday.  Everyone at this dealership is really nice.  I will add that I had a minor issue at the beginning with the car but Marco and his team had it taken care of with no issues.  I totally would send any of my friends and family to buy a car from these guys.

I have nothing but good things to say about MINI of Austin. Not only is the showroom totally unique and welcoming, so is the staff. I take my Cooper S here for service and have never had an issue. I really hate to give MINI a 1 star rating but honestly I tried. I gave them every opportunity to make things right from a customer stand point. I love how the car looks, and the way it drives, but I have been less than satisfied with the problems that come along with owning one. I have owned a 2005 Mini Cooper for 6 years now, and I must say I've replaced practically everything on the car. All of the parts from the wheels to the screws have to be "mini parts" which they have no problem gouging prices to beyond reasonable. I have had several recalls and "warranty extensions" on most of the electrical parts and more recently the steering pump and fan..

I went over a small run of the mill pot hole going maybe 30, and had to replace my entire steering rack system $2000+ in repairs. One day the driver side door stopped opening from the inside, and my window quit working shortly after that. I had to replace the window motor and replace a part in the door-- total fix $1000. Then in December my power steering pump and fan went out-- it would have been a $2600 fix had the shop diagnosed it correctly the first time. Instead since they mistakenly diagnosed my hoses on the power steering as the culprit for my steering troubles (a $500 fix) they did the work for free.  

A few weeks ago I received a letter offering to refund any money I spent on the power steering pump and fan-- which is in my opinion a nice way of saying the parts don't work right, and they were facing a lawsuit. I called the number provided, but was fuzzy on what I needed to mail into the company to be reimbursed for the faulty part. I have been to the Mini of Austin dealership 3 times. EVERY TIME I attempt to get my paperwork sent off no one seems to know what I'm talking about there is always some missing paperwork that does not satisfy the required documentation to prove I actually replaced the power steering pump (which was purchased from them by the repair shop in the first place!).

I finally broke down and called the customer care center, and they finally answered my questions. Although the employees are polite that does not excuse their complete lack of tact or knowledge especially concerning customer care-- maybe it's because I refuse to pay their outrageous repair costs? The only reason I can think of is that there is only one MINI dealership in Austin, and they have no incentive to work harder to appease past clients.

If you buy a mini be prepared for extensive and constant high cost repairs. Also be prepared to deal with the one mini dealership in town. If you have bags of cash to throw at a car that in my opinion is overpriced to begin with then I'd say a mini is perfect for you. If don't have bags of cash or prefer to keep your cash then maybe you should rethink buying a mini. Also the new ones are ugly. FOUR DOORS? EXTENDED? That doesn't sound very mini to me.

Just bought a Mini Hardtop from Mini of Austin. Buying a car really isn't that much fun though they try to make it enjoyable at this dealership.

The thing that really stood out was the care that was taken to "deliver" the car. After all the paperwork was done (as painless as possible), Brad takes me around and through the car point by point. I have bought several cars from all kinds of dealerships but have never had an in introduction to my car like this. I must say that Brad was THE number one thing that really made this car buying experience above and beyond all others.

I recently purchased a Mini Cooper S Convertible at Mini of Austin through Stephen de los Santos and could not be more pleased.  Stephen was very knowledgeable and easy going.  The buying experience at Mini is super laid back which is a lot of fun.  I really dislike feeling pressured and was pleasantly surprised at my buying experience at Mini.  I started looking for a new car in November and decided not to buy at that time.  Stephen was completely respectful of my decision and did not constantly call/email me. Three months later when I was ready to buy, he found the perfect car for me!  It was exactly what I wanted.  I came in that night with my 2 kids and I was ready to buy.  He was extremely accommodating and helped speed up the process for me.  Even though they normally detail the car prior to the new owner taking the car home, I was able to take it home that night.  He followed up with me the next day to make sure I didn't have any questions about my new car and was always very courteous and cool. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with my buying experience at Mini of Austin and I absolutely *love* my new car!  I would recommend Mini of Austin to anyone looking for Mini or a new car.  Thanks Stephen!

a year later, still loving my custom ordered mini!  best car buying experience ever. no wheeling and dealing. just honest it is what it is pricing. if you've done your homework, you know what these cars cost. my sales guy Damien, even went through the list of custom order options and showed me how certain things could be added more cost effectively after market.  i love being a mini driver. feels like you are driving the apple of cars as far as branding goes..and you know what they say? brand loyalty goes a long way when you are treated like you are part of the club.

this was actually a fun process, especially with mini corporate sending me emails about where my "baby" was in the process of being built.  those status updates were fun.  these guys know how to make driving, and yes, buying fun.  we just bought an audi for our other car and i have to say the experience wasn't nearly as cool. whole different vibe as far as the sales went...can't say enough about this mini dealership.  well done!

Since bought my my 2003 Mini (used, from another dealer), I had occasionally had a problem getting  it to start up.  I suspected the ignition switch or the fuel pump control, but not being really good with electrical diagnostics, I chose to take it to the dealership.

It was the switch and they fixed it nicely.  They also found that my lower control arm bushings were shot.  Given the age and mileage of my car, I wasn't surprised.  I looked up the procedure while I was on the phone with the rep and since I don't have a lift it would have been an epic pain to do myself. So I gritted my teeth over the cost and OKd the work.

My baby starts up every time now and I can totally feel the improvement in the suspension.
The work was completed in a timely manner and they returned my car to me freshly washed. I love it when my car is sparkly-clean!

As always with dealerships, they do charge a bit more than many independent shops, but the prices were only slightly elevated...not exorbitant. It really is worth the premium for some jobs, though. Especially on Mini-specific quirks. Plus, it's a real treat to the inside of the garage.  I wish I had a workshop that nice!

I only have one minor complaint (why the 4 stars instead of 5).  I was going to use a credit card check to save myself some interest charges and they wouldn't accept it (because the verification service wouldn't, actually), so I had to call my husband to bring the card up.  It was a bit annoying because I've never had anyone refuse to take one of those before.  They were really nice and  polite about it, I can't complain too much.

They also did a lovely (and FAST!) job changing out my AC compressor for Ellis and Salazar last summer.  See my review for E&S for more info on that.

20 yr old daughter brought Mini in for turbocharger and nail in tire. Even though we had road hazard insurance (they had no record of) and 7 mm tread left on all four tires the service guy told her the repais would cost $6200. She smelled what he was shoveling as the tires had lots of miles left and called dad. Cost was to also "fix water pump leak" so she asked how this could be true with no drips even on the garage or shop floor. Discussion ended and dad picked up the car from the "highwaymen." Do NOT use these guys for repairs after 3 yrs or 50,000 miles. Turns out a recalled item extended the turbo warrantee to 100,000 miles, but these "shifty" characters wouldn't honor the recall.
Poor form to try and fool a young woman. Made all the repairs (minus the four tires) at a reputable shop for $2200. Again, find another repair shop.

I bought my car here a year ago and just brought it in for my yearly maintenance. The salesman I worked with, Robert Tyler, was a breath of fresh air. I braced myself for all the crap you usually get at a car dealership, where they usually ask, "How soon are you looking to purchase?" before asking your name.

You don't get any of that from him. He was totally low key and no pressure. He understands it's a big purchase and he's not looking to get you in a Mini as soon as possible. He treats you like a human being, not an ATM.

I just brought my car in for the yearly maintenance this morning and it was, once again, a good experience. You sit in their waiting area with the TV on and plenty of cookies, water and coffee while you wait.

After test driving cars at several dealerships in the area, I would recommend this place with no reservation, based on my experience thus far.

UPDATE: So I decided to go back to school and get rid of the car payment. I cancelled the extended warranty and tire coverage I bought with the car. I sold the car to another dealership in like December. I didn't see a refund on the warranty or tire coverage until JULY OF THE FOLLOWING YEAR. It was super annoying. I know not all of that was MINI of Austin's fault, since they were probably dealing with MINI policies, yada yada, but the customer service definitely took a nose dive during this period of limbo and it left a pretty bad taste in my mouth.

Thusly, I lowered my 5 star rating to a 3 star.

I'll preface this review by saying that I did not actually purchase a vehicle from MINI of Austin.  This was in no way their fault; I gave them my terms, they couldn't meet them.  

But, see, that's just the thing.  When we got to that point, the point where it just wasn't going to work, they didn't try to pressure me into buying a car from them anyway, with a payment that I wasn't comfortable with, or a car that was older than I wanted.  They mentioned options, but didn't try any shady sales techniques to "convince" me that it was still a good idea, even though I'd already said no.

I came in with a very set group of requirements: 09 or newer, 40k miles or less, Cooper S only, payments under $275/month.  Didn't care if it was new or used, so long as it met the payment requirements.  I didn't think it was feasible, and had a list of about 40 other cars besides the Cooper S, but this place was close to home so I figured I'd give them a shot.    

They appraised my car and gave it a no BS value (even Carmax offered only $500 more).  Both the salesman and the manager were chatty and comfortable to be around.

I've purchased many cars, and MINI of Austin's entire attitude toward selling cars was almost unprecedented.  They showed me on their computer monitor exactly why it just wasn't feasible.  Here's your terms.  Here's the price of our car.  This is why that's not going to work.  Not interested in paying more or looking at this '07?  Okay, have a nice day.  

That's how car salesmen SHOULD act, instead of trying to convince you to pay more than you can actually afford, or get you to buy a car that you don't really want.

I have nothing but great things to say about Mini of Austin.  I only wish they had opened a few years earlier.

While I did purchase a Mini from another dealership just South of Austin, I had the majority of the services done at Mini of Austin.  Most of those services were to fix endless rattles, whistles, and other irritants that were either caused by parts flaking out, or issues that were with the car from the time of delivery.

The service department is top notch.  Mike B knows me very well, always hospitable, easy to talk to, and communicates very well.  Scheduling service is easy, especially for someone like me who wishes to do it online, write up what needs to be done, set a time to come in, and arrange a loaner if their schedule allows.  The entire service area is very clean.  You could eat of the floor, but they have a waiting room in the dealership with fresh coffee (Starbucks machine that brews it for you) and cookies too.

The parts department is also very helpful.  They do cater to DIY'ers like myself.  When I inquired about replacing the brake sensors, they brought them out, showed them to me and told me they probably aren't needed if I can free them up from the caliper without damaging them.  In the end, the wear marks were past their point of no return and I did buy some - at a slight discount too.

MINI update:  They went from "typical"l to "crazy above and beyond".  They did a terrible job on the touch up of the chips in the body.  We told them we weren't happy with it, got home & got 4 phone calls from MINI promising to make it right.  They're actually sending it to a body shop.  Way more than expected.  He just hoped for a better touch up job, not perfection.  Although I kind of feel bad now...I can no longer say that MINI is just like your average dealer.  They go way beyond what one would expect in the customer service department.  I think I will have to hide from the sales guy though due to the guilt factor ;)

The staff at Mini of Austin are really professional, friendly and knowledgeable.  I was impressed by their responsiveness and concern for my comfort while I shopped for my Mini.  The Motoring Advisor Robert Tyler was a great help in getting me the car that I was looking for.  Robert also worked hard to get me a very fair and honest deal for the truly outstanding and tricked out 2011 Mini Clubman S that I purchased.  

Overall it was the best car buying experience that I've ever had.  I look forward to buying another one someday from Mini of Austin.

Wow, I honestly can't remember the last time I was treated this poorly.   I've been looking at Minis now for 8 years.  Now, I am ready to buy since I'm giving my daughter my vehicle.  Came by on a Saturday afternoon, walked aknowledgement what so ever.  Came in...nothing.  So we left.  I went to another dealership to check out a used one that I've been considering even though I really wanted new.  Decided to come back later to give them another chance.  Finally got helped after we came in and looked helpless.  Said I was looking for a particular Mini.  Was told to walk across the street in cold weather and up some stairs to see their inventory....really?  What do they use the golf cart for then? On top of that, we were left standing trying to figure out what to do more than once and for long periods of time with no offers of water or anything.  Salesman treated us like we were an inconvenience.    I will be driving to another mini dealership instead to give them my money.  Time and money are no object for us, we just wanted to be treated like they wanted our business.

The MINI Service department is professional, courteous, and have one of the cleanest shops around!  I love that you're able to see where your car is being worked on.  This setup embodies how they treat you as well - they're very open and upfront.  My service adviser, Mike, always explains what to expect whether it's with the service that day or what is coming up in the future.  It really allows me to plan out what expenses to expect now that my maintenance plan is over.

They offer loaner vehicles, shuttle service when loaners are not available, online appointments, and very nice amenities should you choose to wait for your car.  Free Starbucks coffee, food, TV, computer stations and wi-fi.  Plus lots of MINIs to look at!!

As an organizer of the Austin Mini Cooper Car Club, I expect the best for our members.  MINI of Austin doesn't let me down and I know they strive to make things right.  They hold fantastic events for our club members including exclusive sneak-previews and a Service & Detail Clinic where we got to learn more about our cars, ask questions, and meet the entire staff.  

Don't be afraid to ask questions when you're there, they know a lot about your car!  If you think a service is unnecessary, just ask them to explain why they think it's needed.  Their recommendations can prevent more expensive or frequent maintenance later down the line.  They've never prevented me from making an informed decision and I truly appreciate their honesty and wealth of knowledge.

The MINI service here is fantastic, and despite the pain that is caused from a $700 bill to turn off my check engine light. Scheduling a repair was easy, I was able to do everything via email, arrange for a loaner, and get me in and out of the shop in around 15 minutes. Unfortunately, as always, I had to be dealt with being sold wheel alignments, etc. but when I said that I didn't want it they backed off and let me stick with my already expensive bill.

I was there today having my MINI serviced and was greeted by a number of friendly staff members. The service department was fast, efficient and clean. Mike was very clear in describing how long of a wait I was expected to have and it was right on time.  I appreciated the escort to the waiting area, the estimate of what would be preformed and how long it would take. I was able to relax in the showroom, connect to their wi-fi and get some work done while I waited. I was glad to learn that if I had wanted to have oil service done, the price was very reasonable. They even offered detailing services that were very competitively priced. I'm very happy with their service department.

I have had my fair share of horrible dealerships as much as the next, but this one treats me great! They replaced parts and fixed my car without hesitation just like the ideal dealership should. What i feel makes this dealer stand out from the rest is that there have been multiple occasions where my car has had many problems. My service advisor, Mike, ALWAYS has a spot for me even on the most busy of days! I once remember that i had my car break down 20 min before closing and he stayed open until i could have it towed. He stayed till 7pm with me to get my loaner car and appt etc all set. That is truly as good as it gets!

Ordered a MINI Countryman Cooper S a couple of months ago. It came in four weeks ago, a bit ahead of schedule. Damon (our sales advisor) called to let us know that it had arrived and asked when we wanted to take delivery. Long story short, the buying experience was the best I've ever experienced...a real "laid-back, Austin-style with no up-sell pressures, etc.  Our last car was a BMW purchased next-door at BMW of Austin and I thought that was a good experience...even though owned by the same company, MINI of Austin has them beat in the customer experience department.

One final note; when we took delivery, we arrived at the dealership at 5 pm, went through the financing with Charlie (another good experience) and then went through the delivery process...being instructed on how to used all of the goodies (computer, Bluetooth, etc). Even though it took a couple hours, the dealership had closed and was beginning to get dark, there was no rush to get us out of there.

Just bought a 2012 Mini Cooper off the lot.  This was the first new car I've bought in over 10 years.  Was pretty much dreading the whole high pressure, upselling that seems to come when purchasing a new car.  I was actually planning on buying a used car from CarMax (and not necessarily a Mini) just so I wouldn't have to haggle with a salesman.  Ended up going to Mini of Austin just for a test drive.  Robert Tyler greated us and was very laid back - easy to talk to.  I test drove an automatic 2006 mini.  Boy, was I impressed!  For a small car, I felt extremely safe.  The car was extremely responsive and felt well-built.  I was surprised - this was a 2006.  I was tempted to buy that one right then but didn't really care for the color and wasn't sure if I wanted to buy a 2006 (wanted a more recent model).  

We left that day and for the rest of the week, all I could think of was that mini!  I had planned to test drive a couple of other makes - Chevy, Ford but once I test drove that mini - poof! those cars vanished from my mind.  Since I wasn't in any hurry to buy a car, I considered ordering one.  (I was surprised that the resell value on the used ones was so high.  I could buy a new one for not much more).  In fact, I did build a mini on the website.  Meanwhile, I was talking to Robert (he was very patient with me) and made an appointment to come back at the end of the week.  Went back and found a 2012 on the lot (it had been there only 2 days).  By this time, it was kinda late on a Friday.  We wanted to add the racing stripes and the car still needed the inspection and to be readied for purchase.  Looked like it could be next week before I could pick it up.  For someone who wasn't in any rush to buy a car, I felt a tad disappointed that I couldn't drive off with it.  Robert said he would see if they could get it ready for me by the next day, Saturday.

While we were meeting with Charlie (the finance guy, who is great to work with as well), Robert was working his magic.  He told me that my car would be ready that day. AWESOME! We left for a couple of hours and Robert called when the car was ready.  Went back and Robert spent a good amount of time instructing me on the mini (even though it was late on a Friday).  Robert did not rush through this and I could tell that he actually loves minis.  So nice to deal with someone who cares and truly believes in the product he's selling.  I highly recommend a Mini, Mini of Austin, and ROBERT TYLER!  Thanks, Robert!

I bought my Mini in Houston two years ago.  I tried their service department twice.  Never again.  I have also tried the Mini service department in San Antonio.  Not bad, but no reason to go back.

In walks Mini of Austin.  I have always had prompt and courteous service here.  Nice coupons and friendly service.  And prompt.  What more could you ask for?  Never an upsale, never an underestimate on time.  Free Starbucks.  Free Wi-Fi.  What took you so long???

by far the beat car buying experience we've ever had.  we got the car we wanted with the price we wanted and the financing we wanted.  Robert made it really easy.  he even looked up all the consumer prices online with us to check out what fair market values.  they were all very upfront with everything and honest.  all and all they did everything within reason to make us happy with our new pretty mini!  go find Robert...he'll take great care of you!

I had a great experience. My tires were wearing out in the front, after I'd had them for only 4000 miles, so I took it to MINI of Austin because I thought I might need an alignment.

The guys greeted me personally in the repair area and looked at my car while I waited. They said the tires were very evenly worn, and they didn't think I needed an alignment. They offered to rotate the tires for me, but since I was about to buy new tires, I declined. They could have just taken my money and done an alignment that my car didn't need.

It should be noted that I'm also an Austin MINI Cooper Car Club member, so they already knew who I was, and they really wanted to help me.

While I can't claim the vitriol of all caps, its worth noting that my experience here was a bit of a mixed bag. It's also worth noting that my problems tend to be systemic, namely, that when you go in here for car repair (or many other auto repair shops), they explain what they recommend in language that sounds roughly akin to the deal exceptions you hear blurted out against the finish of radio spots. My car's doing fine, but driving that sucker for awhile meant that there were a few things that needed addressing. So here I was.

Upside - my loaner. That's the greatest thing about Austin finally having a Mini dealership here is the fact that they'll give you a car to tool around in while yours is in the shop. That worked great for me, and it was fun to see what the new editions of the Cooper were doing these days. There are some changes, and lots of them were fun. The downside is that like alot of dealerships they'll only do factory repairs, which doesn't sound like a bad thing unless you, say, want them to replace some rubber stripping on the top of your window and it would require replacing your entire windshield to do it their way. Needless to say, that didn't happen. But when all was said and done, my car runs much better, a necessity in the hot summer months here. And while I'd be okay with the staff s-l-o-w-i-n-g d-o-w-n when they explain procedures to those of us who've spent less time in vocational school, things in the end worked out mostly okay.
