Wanted to give a quick shout out to Steven Lawrence and the team at Apple Sport. By far our best car buying experience.  Steven did an excellent job getting us into the right car for our family. He is very personable and easy to work with. The whole team was pleasant and earned our business for life. Thanks guys!

Trying to resolve the fact that the 2012 Benz I bought has been mostly repainted, has front and rear collision damage that has been repaired, and multiple parts were replaced by me that were broken at purchase, including a bent rim. Would not have bought the car, as it bothers me to have the mismatched paint and poor resale value due to all the body issues. Can anyone help on this, or am I stuck with this car that had undisclosed issues at purchase and shouldn't have been sold? No one is responding to me, so did I do something wrong here? What am I missing? This needs to be resolved.

Great product and great service is what any consumer hopes for and Sarah at Apple SI provided just that.  Very bubbly personality and will go above and beyond to help with any part of the buying process.  So far, I am loving my Audi A4!  I was worried about my drive from TX to GA but thank goodness I arrived in one piece.  It is still fairly new in my possession so we will see how reliable German Engineering really is.  All in all, I was satisfied with their product and services.  Thanks Sarah!

I am not a fan of them, I was promised a Garmin gps but instead they gave me leak gps the cheapest n worst gps. All I'm saying is if I'm promised something I don't really want to call n bug them about what I was promised. They just lost a loyal customer!

Another thing I noticed was they don't negotiate, maybe it's an austin thing in dealerships not sure but since I was in love with the car I didn't care!

Very disappointed about gps, I know it's a few $$$ but customer service is wat makes customers return, and if they nickel n dime u even when ur paying a little more kbb they should b more than willing to go the extra mile to get u wat is promised!

I am pleasantly surprised by my experience with Apple Imports from the initial phone call to the signing on the dotted line for the purchase of my new high performance SUV. Tonette Cortez was the sales associate I spoke with on the phone and dealt with when I arrived late from SA. She had the vehicle ready for me to test drive and did  a lot of upfront work to save me time. She was extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent customer service and even followed up the next day. Tonette provided a seamless first class service! Thank you Apple and Tonette!

I cannot express how happy I am with Apple Sport Imports! My fiance and I have less than perfect credit and are expecting our first baby within the next 6 weeks. Our old clunker's entire break system went out on us just last week and our piece of garbage vehicle now became a death trap to drive and we had virtually no cash on hand for a down payment.

Thomas was absolutely wonderful. He found a lower priced dependable, good car for us and negotiated with the down payment so we can now be on the road safely and even went above and beyond getting all our financial documents in order for financing approval.

We had gone to capitol kia previous to Apple SI and were frowned upon because of our less than perfect credit and they really were not eager to help us at all. Thomas called and texted me daily keeping me up to speed with the process and getting us in our car. We pick it up today and I am so happy we chose Apple SI.

I would definitely reccomend this dealership to anyone purchasing a vehicle in any situation at all. They have completely restored my faith in used car salesmen and the car buying experience as a whole.

Thank you so much Apple Sport Imports!!!

Dishonest! Typical integrity-challenged dealership that furthers the used car sales stereotype.

I won't go into a lengthy rant, but the straw that broke the camel's back for us was when the sales person told us we couldn't afford a particular car! Seriously? Because we had first looked at a car that cost about $25k and decided against it, he got impatient when we inquired about a $39k vehicle.

They used the standard trade-in line about how they could buy cars like ours at auction so could only offer less than the book value. Then they tried to change the selling price when they found out we had our own financing (a lost revenue chance in their eyes). Oh and the car we'd looked at turned out to have had body damage even though the Carfax said it was clean. They lied and said it had never been in an accident, even though my body shop owner friend said it was obvious and that Apple Sport would definitely know it when they took the car in.

These guys are part of the slick used car, good-old-boys club here in Austin. They are motivated sellers who use all the sleazy tactics to make deals. You are much better off going elsewhere for a used car or truck.

I have bought several luxury cars over the years and I've always had to travel to Dallas and Houston to get the best selection and price. After negotiating for over a week with a dealership in Houston, I decided to visit AppleSI. I spoke with Ben over the phone and he suggested I come in to the store since they had a greater selection then what was posted on line. When I came in, Ben was with a customer so I worked with Tonette. I found both Ben and Tonette to be extremely professional and customer service oriented. I ultimately found the car I wanted that day. Their no haggle pricing was very refreshing and I was very happy with the trade in price they offered and the pricing on my new vehicle. I had some concerns with the condition of the new vehicle and spoke with the owner (Sam) about my concerns. He was happy to allow me to take my potential purchase to my mechanic for a buyers check. During this check there was small issue that Sam was happy to resolve. I plan on doing business with this dealership in the future and I expect to have the same great experience since it's obvious that their high level of customer service expectation comes straight from the owner.

I live in Wells Branch (North Austin), and last week my wife and I began our search for a used car with a very specific model, trim, and color.

Having contacted every dealership between San Marcos and Belton, I can confidently say that in terms of selection, price, competence & friendliness, AppleSI was the best dealer I could find, and we will definitely be back to buy from Tonette at AppleSI in the future.

Quality cars
Great selection
Helpful service

Lower trade-in value that I would have hoped, but fair
Required a short amount of time and a little work after delivery to get a couple of small things fixed

Here is my story:

With the understanding that finding a specific used car can take some time, I emailed about 30 dealerships in and around Austin, and was prepared to wait several days or weeks for responses as inventory turned over.  Many dealerships responded by very politely attempting to convince me to change my preference towards a particular car they had in the lot, and a sales rep from one dealership (San Marcos Nissan) became very insulting and condescending about our preferences, which was bizarre.  Most dealerships put me on their weekly "how is your search going" email list with a link to their inventory online.

Fortunately, Tonette at AppleSI emailed me the next day saying that they had just gotten a car that matched our preferences, but it probably had more miles than we were looking for.  However, it had the features we wanted and looked very clean, so I asked for more information.  Tonette was very helpful sending pictures, answering questions quickly, and setting up an appointment for a test drive.  3 days later, we met Tonette at AppleSI and bought the car after a 30 minute test drive.  She evaluated my trade-in during the test drive and gave me a value a little lower than I would have hoped, but I think in a fair range considering other offers.  They initially offered a VERY low trade-in price, but then quickly matched a CarMax offer I had gotten the day before.  She said their pricing was no-haggle, which was honestly very refreshing and made me feel much less awkward than the places that make you give an offer, etc.

The car we bought at AppleSI did have 4x the miles of the car at Round Rock Nissan we were considering, but it was in WAY better shape (no gouges in the side, trim falling off, etc.).  It is clear that the cars at AppleSI have been cared for in a way that I would care for my own car.

Cody at AppleSI helped us with the paperwork, which was minimal and easy.  It is a good thing that this paragraph is short and there were no surprises during closing.  The final total cost was within $0.20 of the initial price Tonette quoted me.

After the sale:

For each car I considered, I made a list of needed repairs (mechanical & cosmetic).  For the previous car we evaluated, the list was 28 items long, and Round Rock Nissan did not offer to fix any of them (barely took the time to read the list).  For the car at AppleSI, the list contained 4 items, and Tonette offered to fix 2 of them during the sales process.  Although those 2 items weren't fixed when we took delivery, Tonette had made arrangements for us to come back in the next week when their cosmetic specialist was available, and she also made arrangements for the mechanical repair at Discount Tire, which went relatively smoothly.  After delivery, I was able to fix the other 2 items from my list myself in about 30 minutes with a screwdriver and a dab of loctite.

I went in for the free car wash they offer on Saturdays this past weekend, and although the wait was about 45 minutes, they did a FANTASTIC job with the wash, comparable to Genie's "Manager's Special."  Although it is a bit of a drive for us; whenever we are out that direction on a Saturday, I can see dropping my wife at the mall and taking the car to AppleSI for a great wash once a month or so.

So in closing, we'd like to send a big thanks to Tonette and Cody at AppleSI for a positive experience and a great car for our growing family.  We'll certainly come back to buy there again.

I had a great experience at Apple Sport Imports.  The dealership is clean and new, the cars look like new, and the staff was very friendly and honest.  It's a classy dealership!

About Apple Sport Imports:
short version:
First of all- they are used car salesman.  I suppose the cynical  lack of integrity comes with the territory.  Be on guard when you visit this business.  Our "no pressure" salesman was
Ben Green a polite yet untrustworthy sales associate who has no ability to say what he means or mean what he says.  After all they are just words.  Don't listen.

The other half of this "team" was Bob Morrow - Sales Manager.  Again unable to find substance in words - you will be told one thing at one moment and yet a completely contradictory statement of convenience - their convenience - in the blink of an eye.

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for an honest deal or at least go in with both eyes open and know your product.  They are no help and are only looking for the sale.  And beware of the "competitive sales environment".  This is no advantage to the buyer but only to the owners of the business.

Longer version:
I was raised in Texas and my father taught me that "your word is your bond"
My wife and I had been looking for a car. As you probably know it is a stressful process.
One car we liked was held by these guys. We test drove. We wanted to talk it over lunch- even with the "threat" of we are going to sell the car to another dealer"- sometime after lunch?
We talked it over - called 'em back and said "we want the car - can you clean it up?" - it was still dirty.
The answer was Yes"we'll clean it - but dont wait til the morning someone else may be looking at it."
We said- "Okay, we want it, we are on the way."
They reply, "Okay it will be clean and ready for you when you get here."
In rush hour traffic it takes almost an hour for us to get there and we called twice to update.

We arrive and the car is sold to another customer.  No apology. No compensation on any other vehicle.

Do Not waste your time, money or sanity with these guys.

I am a very indecisive person and for that reason I felt sorry for my salesperson, GREGORY WILBURN.  I wanted a few very specific things but I was kind of all over the place with the addition of having a beer budget with champagne tastes.  Greg was incredibly patient with me in this 6 month process. He never got discouraged and would notify me when cars came in that he thought I would like. He really got a feel for what I wanted, not what was the best deal for him. I will definitely go back to see when I am ready for another car!! Please go see Greg at Apple Sport Imports.  Their cars are immaculate and usually priced under other local car dealers. You won't find a better deal!

I was really dreading the car buying experience.  I ventured out on a Saturday morning and stopped at Apple Sport Imports based on the recommendation of my brother-in-law.  I ended up having a great experience.  Tonette is an amazing multi-tasker.  Although she was extremely busy, she never allowed my son & I to feel neglected or unimportant.  As I was a bit undecided upon arrival, she was amazing and based on my wants, needs, desires and budget, helped me to find a beautiful vehicle that actually exceeded my initial expectations.  I highly recommend shopping at Apple Sport Imports, it is truly a pleasant experience and they have a great selection of vehicles.  I have two co-workers who had recently purchased used vehicles elsewhere-they were both surprised to learn that Apple Sport not only detailed my new vehicle but offered me a very fair price for my trade and made sure that my new vehicle was in great condition.  In this current market, when our hard earned dollars and more difficult to part with, it is this kind of customer service and attention to detail that truly makes a difference to this consumer.  Thank you Tonette for your patience, your help and your expertise.  I will be singing your praises and those of Apple Sport Imports for a long time to come.  I look forward to purchasing my next vehicle from you.

When you're looking for a used car and you want a low-pressure, laid back, car buying experience, Cory at Apple Sport Import is your guy.  I'd been looking online for an SUV to replace one of our sedans given an upcoming addition to the family and stumbled upon a listing for an Inifinit FX35 at Apple.  At the time, I hadn't been considering one, but their price was extremely good and I'd read some great reviews of the car, so I went up to Apple for a test drive.  It didn't take long before I was sold on it.

I can't overstate how nice and easy going Cory was.  He just doesn't give off that used car salesman vibe that most people equate to the buying process.  So I was completely at ease and the decision to make the purchase was made that much easier.  Apple SI handled all the title and registration, and put my new plates on when they come in.  Free car washes for life is just one other added benefit.

Loyal for life you guys and gals

I recently purchased a Mercedes from the dealership, and I was blown away by the personal friendly service.  I had expected a good experience, but I didn't expect for 'Robin', the sales associate, and Jay, the finance guru, to go out of their way to make sure I was informed and comfortable with every step of the process.

I live in Dallas, but made the drive to Austin for the experience I knew I would have.  I would reccommend this dealership and specifically 'Robin' to anyone that wants a no-haggle friendly down to earth experience!

Stay far far away from this place...
In short, they lied to get my business, my car is a piece of junk, now I'm stuck with an almost broken down car. They up charged me by 50%.

I went to Apple Sport Imports because as much as I loved my SUV, I was moving from central Austin to Round Rock, but keeping my central Austin place of employment, so I wanted a nicer, smaller car that was fuel efficient. I went to Apple SI and drove around a few cars, ultimately falling in love with a BMW. My job was lax with my lunch break and I only wanted to look, test drive, and go back to work. The Apple SI employee I was working with insisted I would be out the door in no time. Then they checked my credit, handed me the keys to the BMW, and kept telling me they were waiting on the approval for the car. I waited and waited - repeatedly telling them I had to get back to work, nothing. I kept telling them to just call me, but they insisted it would be done in no time and that the car would get sold fast if I just left it. 4 hours later, I left, telling them to just call me. I get a call that evening telling me to come back, as they received approval. I was stoked, to say the least. Went back, they pull up a 2006 VW Jetta and tell me (and I quote) "we thought you were approved for the BMW, but we ended up being able to only get you a VW...but hey, it's German and shares one letter in common with BMW". I went home in my SUV. My mom offered to co-sign so I could get the car I wanted and a lower APR - they REPEATEDLY called her since I told them I'd have to sleep on it and told her my SUV was crappy and could break down at any moment (not true) and that I could finance the car of my choice once I built up my credit more in 6 months, even that they would finance a BMW in 6 months and I could just bring back the car. My mom was so worried and they convinced her it was a good deal and eventually convinced me that it was a good deal, so we went through with it. I immediately noticed problems with the car...A) it got worse gas mileage than my SUV, B) it would only allow me to put .10 cents of gas in at a time or else it would spit it all out, C) it did not plug into my iPod (they promised it would), D) the AC took over 30 min (no exaggeration) to get cold. I hated VWs to begin with, but I was pressured by them and my mom (whom they pressured) and consistently lied to. I thought that the issues were small, but was told there was really nothing that could be done.
Fast Forward 6 months, I find out that the car was worth HALF of what they charged me and that if I want that BMW, I'd have to carry over the negative equity onto the new loan and that pretty much no bank (unlike what Apple SI told me) would carry that much negative equity over from such a high mileage car that wasn't worth spit.
Fast Forward a year and a handful of months: I have had a baby and want something larger with cold AC. I decide to try one more time to trade it in, no dealership in Austin could swing it due to the abissmal worth of the car and 100k miles on it and amount I still owe on it. Every dealership told me how badly I got screwed over and that the car was not worth what I paid when I paid and I was lied to. The Jetta breaks down one day, a mechanic checked the fuel evaporator valve, it's DUCT TAPED on. The feeling of slipping I had felt the whole time was the transmission (which needs to be replaced), the AC not blowing cold was due to it never being maintained to begin with, and there were various other small issues. I had the evaporator valve replaced, I had the AC serviced (now for the first time, it blows cold air), but the transmission work would have been more than the car was worth. Now, I'm stuck with this piece, can't trade it, can't sell it, still owe a ton on it, and it could break down for good at any point. Now, I'm forced to have the car voluntarily repossessed so I can get a safe, reliable car (my husband has to finance), just so we don't have this third car payment. They told me the car was in perfect condition and that they were asking less than it was worth. I would have been better off with my "Crappy" SUV. Not only did other dealerships tell me these people are crooks, but my mechanic saw the Apple SI logo on the back of my car and told me right then "they are horrible, you got screwed over." I should have done my research, but to be fair, I was totally lied to and ultimately swindled by these people.

I purchased a car at Apple a couple months ago and couldn't be happier.  Andrew really helped me find exactly what I was looking for!  The car buying process is not something I usually look forward to, but Andrew and the Apple crew made it a great experience.  After having my car for a couple months now, I've decided that when the time comes I will definitely be going back to Apple.  Thanks!

Erica B. | 2012-04-05

I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership. It was quick and painless. Mark really gave me the lowest rates and made it seem as though I wasn't a project in which they tried to get the most money out of me. Thoroughly enjoyed this experience and probably will go here again when I'm in the market for a vehicle.

Angi M. | 2012-02-24

I recently bought a car here and was really impressed with this place.  I've never bought a car of my own choosing before and I thought it would be fun to get to check out different models and test drive things. But really it's a huge pain to buy a car!  The salesmen were usually pushy and annoying and brought out cars that were nothing like what I was looking for and cost twice as much.  Or the people were really helpful and there were lots of cars to choose from but they were overpriced for what you got (ie. Carmax).

Apple has  No Haggle pricing and are actually reasonably priced, the sales guys are helpful and not pushy, and the cars were all in really good shape.  The one I bought had some loose vinyl on the door panel that they fixed for me AND I got a voucher for free carwashes at Apple for LIFE (9am - 3pm every Saturday) AND I get $200 if anyone buys a car from there from Mark Thomas and tells him I recommended him!  Not bad.
So if you go there, ask for Mark Thomas and tell him I sent you :)

Rachel L. | 2012-02-02

My transmission recently went out and I was forced to venture out and buy my first car on my own. I was terrified - I have never been a haggler, I suck at saying no, and I was worried that I would be pressured in to buying something I really didn't love. I was referred to Apple Sport Imports by my friend so I strolled on in after seeing that they had the car I wanted online. I worked with Austin, who was amazing. It was my first dealership, the first car I test drove...and I drove off with it two days later :) I absolutely love my new car and I really appreciate Austin and the guys at ASI for making it a no pressure, no haggle, no stress purchase. I look forward to taking advantage of their free car wash on Saturdays :)

James G. | 2011-10-10

I recently bought a 2010 Chevy Tahoe LTZ from Eric Long. Eric was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and was more than willing to answer all my questions. Their no haggle pricing was right in line with the research I had done and I never felt any pressure to buy. Eric even called the previous owner to inquire about the extra set of keys (which are being mailed). I went back to have the car detailed and Eric even put 4 gallons of gas in it. I would refer anyone to Apple Sport Imports and encourage them to ask for Eric. With Eric's guidance, this was a totally pain free process despite being a major purchase. I will definitely go back when I'm in the market again.

Michael G. | 2011-09-11

I bought a car from Apple a couple of months ago and was pretty happy overall with my experience.  Tonette was my salesperson and was really friendly and got me in and out within a couple of hours.

They are a no-haggle dealership, which takes some of the fun out of the car-buying experience if you ask me, but I got a great deal on my car and they gave me a fair amount for my trade-in.  On top of that, their finance guy, Jerry, got a great interest rate on my car loan and only took a few minutes to find it.

The only part that sucked is that the check engine light came on in my car a week after I bought it, but Apple handled the situation really well.  Tonette worked out the kinks and got me a loaner car and the Apple paid for half of the repair bill, since the part that needed to be replaced wasn't under warranty.

If you're looking for a good deal and smooth transaction, I would check out Apple Sport Imports!

Kamren H. | 2011-08-21

I've recently purchased my 2nd vehicle from Tonette at Apple Sport Imports.  Once again, it was a terrific experience.  While I won't be purchasing a third vehicle anytime soon; rest assured I will be seeking out Tonette at Apple SI to help me with the process.

No pressure, friendly staff, awesome cars!!

Joshua P. | 2011-07-20

Two things. I almost never give 5 star ratings and I don't ever close on a car the same day I look at it. Well that is until I went to Apple Sport Imports and met Cory Rutherford and Bob Morrow. I needed something clean, low mileage, and a car that would suit a young business professional like myself. I called Apple SI and talked to Cory about setting up a time to test drive the 07 Infiniti that I saw advertised with extremely low miles and a price that you would only expect to see from a private seller. From the minute I talked to him on the phone I could tell there was something pleasantly different about this salesman. Cory went out of his way to make sure he could be flexible on our meeting time. Upon meeting Cory and learning more about how Apple Sport Imports runs their business I was sold. I've never felt so confident about a vehicle purchase from a dealership. I signed the papers on the spot and drove away in my new ride later that afternoon after they took the time to tint the windows to my specifications and fully detail the car so that I did not have to fit that into my busy schedule. Bob took care of all of my loan and title paperwork and was very helpful and informative in helping me choose an extended warranty that would work for me and fit into my budget. Bob also landed me a great interest rate on my loan. I went to this dealership to look at a car that I was interested in and I left with my dream car and two friends in Cory and Bob and if you buy a used car there, I am positive that you will have the same experience.

B K. | 2011-03-01

By far the best car buying experience I've ever had.  I needed to replace my old and funky beater of a car and was dreading getting the expected runaround from the car dealers.

I did my research and knew I was looking at 3-4 models.  When I went online I saw that Apple had one of the cars on my list on special at below NADA value! --low miles, clean.  I brought my pre-approval letter in from my credit union and Apple's financing people beat the rate by 1/2 point!  No haggling, more than fair price for my trade-in, fast finance work-I had my car and was on the road super fast!   Austin von Johnson was my sales guy and he was low pressure and really concerned that I get the car that suited me.

Apple has their own 90 day warranty and free car washes for as long as you own the car.

Their only downside is that they are not a larger dealer and may not have the car you're shopping for.

Go here first.

I just purchased a vehicle through Apple SI and it was the most pleasant simple car buying experience I've ever had.  I'm in the military and I've been stationed in several states and financed 5 different vehicles in the last 10 years and this was by far the easiest process ever, I didn't even have to try to haggle for a lower price because their price for the vehicle I was looking for was already WAY lower than other dealerships.  I worked with Cory Rutherford, and he was the most laid car salesman I've ever met.  He was also very personable and knowledgable, he answered every question and I never felt pressured in any way.  It was almost as if he knew what kind of payments I would want to make and presented me with an incredibly fair deal.  I will definitely be referring my friends to Cory.

Paul R. | 2010-09-27

We just purchased our second car through Apple and Corey Rutherford.
To be honest I would rather have a tooth pulled than deal with car salesman and purchasing a vehicle. Corey and the guys at Apple make it painless. Corey is very knowledge and a good guy to deal with.

Corey worked with me for months until he had a vehicle that matched my needs.

Financing was a breeze and the few minor nits that I found on the vehicle are being taken care of.

Staci L. | 2010-08-30

I was referred to Apple Sport Imports by a friend that recently bought a car there. I worked with Cory. He was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to get in touch with. They didn't have what I was looking for (although they did have a great selection) but he went above and beyond to find what I wanted. I ended up changing my mind about trading in my car. I called Cory to explain and he was understanding and never made me feel bad that he took the time to help without a sale being made. Although this should be expected, it isn't always the case with salespeople. So I appreciate it! I will definitely go back to Apple Sports Imports the next time I am in the market for a car.

DiAnne O. | 2009-08-05

My last experience buying a vehicle from a dealership (rather than private sale) was extremely unpleasant.  The thing is, I didn't even really appreciate how bad it was until I had a great experience at Apple SI for comparison.

These guys are extremely professional and helpful. I saw a vehicle online I was interested in and called to schedule a test drive. Buying a car is a big investment and I had a lot of questions and trepidation and was a little gun-shy after my last experience. I was lucky enough to be referred to Chris Randells, who worked his a** off for me.  Financing was a breeze and when I came in to do the deal (after a month of looking and  hemming and hawing) the paperwork was ready and it took about 10 minutes.

Chris even followed me to my house because, well - I don't have any friends who can drive a stick shift (my old car) and I had no other way to get it home. Considering Apple is located on 620 near 2769, I and practially live in Bastrop, that was a huge relief.

I recommend them very highly.

(TL;DR: These guys are great)

I dread buying cars.
There, I said it. I HATE buying cars. Slick-dick pushy salesmen, the bargaining process, financing, etc... But this was an easy experience.
I found a couple of cars I liked on their website (which I found through an ad they placed on Craigslist) and got pre-approved for the most expensive car I was looking at, so I took the morning off work and went down there. When I got there I was really looking hard at two very different automobiles. There was the fancy foreign sportscar (my vain side) and the mid-size truck (my practical side). The salesperson (Dave Jimenez) showed me both vehicles and the pull of the sportscar was strong. I let him in on my thoughts: The sportscar is completely impractical and showy, but damn it fits like a glove and Mom would be proud. The mid-size truck was nice but not showy, was thousands of dollars cheaper, and I could use it to make some extra money at my company if I ever wanted to. Now you'd think a salesperson would naturally try to push you into the bigger sale. Nope. Dave was very cool and even agreed with me that the truck would be the more practical purchase. I test-drove it and really liked it. To tell the truth, I kinda missed having a truck (I'd been in a sedan for a few years.)
I told Dave I liked it, but wouldn't sign anything until I had my mechanic look at it. Long story short, my mechanic is very picky and apparently this truck was cherry except for one little thing which there was even a service bulletin sent out for, meaning this is common with these vehicles. (The fuel injectors just needed to be flushed.) And normally he has a page or two of noted on things wrong with used vehicles for a pre-purchase inspection. So I called Dave and told him if he'd fix this one thing my mechanic found I would feel comfortable purchasing this truck. No problem, the next morning we took it to the shop they use just down the road a bit and had it fixed. Yay!
Anyhow, they had cleaned this truck up so that it looked absolutely brand new, and it was four years old. The engine looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. The lenses for the headlights and taillights must have been brand new. The tires looked brand new. No door dings, totally straight body. I seriously don't know how they did this.
And looking around at all of the cars on the lot, they're all newer, nicer, low-mileage cars in really great shape. I'm impressed by this place.
So when it came time for the actual paperwork I got a high APR (but I had zero credit. Not bad credit, just zero credit). They said the bank would only do a 60-month note, though I wanted more like a 24 or 36. They included an $1100 warranty on the vehicle.
I'm not too sure about all of this, the financing/warranty/dealing with the bank side but I blame my uneasiness on lack of experience and the fact that I didn't really research the finer points of buying a vehicle. And if I double-up my payments it should be paid off within 2 1/2 years so that's OK too. A longer term may be good in this evil economy because if something bad happens to my financial status then my monthly payment is at least a low one.
The dealership was very no-pressure, helpful and friendly. They make sure the cars are clean and in great repair. Even though I was a bit unsure about the financing end I'm giving them 5 stars. Again, I blame myself for my uneasiness. Doing more research and gaining more experience with this sort of thing will help.
