Reviews on Vandergriff Chevrolet

This review is for Parts.

So, my car decided that after only four years that it wanted to start overheating. And I'm not just talking about kinda overheating, I mean full blown hot and in the red. I had to coast from Richardson to DeSoto and was nervous the whole time. Fast forward a few days later and my Dad gives me the news that I he wants to redo my whole coolant system (I think that is what it is called) and I needed a thermal housing unit. I immediately cringed because it just sounded expensive. My Dad encouraged me to order the part through Vandergriff because I could get a discount through our family Costco membership. Following my Dad's directions, I called the dealership and got a price quote of the phone. I was quoted that the piece that I needed would only be a little over $100. I was over the moon. I immediately drive there after work to get the part and was handed the wrong part. Thankfully, I called my Dad and he was able to describe what I needed. To my horror, the piece was quoted at $249. Yikes. I told the sales lady that I would be back the next day to purchase the part and when I came back, I was told that they misquoted the price again and it was going to be more in the ball park of $300 with my discount. I was not pleased. Thankfully, the same lady was the one I saw the day before and because she knew that it was not my fault and I had been quoted a price incorrectly twice, she took it upon herself to speak with her supervisor and they sold me the price for the amount she quoted the first time. I was honestly pleased with this because I understand mistakes can and do happen, and she took it upon herself to do the right thing to make sure that I had a more positive experience. While I do not believe that I will buy an American car again due to manufacturing issues, I can say that I am pleased with my overall outcome with this department. It was a pain in the butt to have to drive out to them twice about something that should have been handled correctly the first time, but at least things were handled.

BTW, the sales ladies at this organization are great and super helpful.

Went with my boyfriend to buy his camaro this past weekend. I recently bought myself a car from AutoNation Nissan, and it was the worst experience. But the experience at Vandergriff was the complete opposite. We worked with Justin and never felt like he was being dishonest or pushy. Granted we knew exactly which car we wanted to buy before we even showed up, but when it came down to negotiating he was pretty reasonable there too. For finance we worked with Austin, who once again wasn't too pushy. I would definitely recommend this dealership

This is the WORST place to take your vehicle for service and the WORST place to buy a vehicle.  I bought a car February of last year. I have had the car serviced about every two months for major components such as the catalytic converter and the timing chain. I know there is no way for them to know such things would go out on the vehicle but it was very discouraging.  When my certified pre-owned" warranted went out, the air conditioner in my car did too! I took it to Vandergriff because I have an extended warranty.  They called and said the warranty company would not cover the air conditioner because I had wrecked the car and gotten some poor repair work.  During that alleged repair work, there was paint overspray on the air conditioner.  I had to raise all kinds of noise before the service advisor found info for me showing where VANDERGRIFF ordered the paint and the painting of the bumper BEFORE I bought the car.  Meanwhile, I am ran a Car Fax.  They only noted ONE of my repairs (catalytic converter).  All the other repairs were noted as "maintenance inspection" rather than an actual repair.  I also noted some things on the Car Fax that were worth mentioning.  When I first bought the vehicle, I had to bring it back within a few days to have brake light bulb changed and 2 window motors being out.  The dealership updated both of the items on the Car Fax but backdated them for more than a week before I bought the car!!!

My 16 year old son was looking for an older truck on the internet and found one on the Vandergriff Chevrolet website. There were so many pictures and even the Car Fax was right there on the website!  We called and made an appointment to see it.  I was greeted by Tony Mullens who was our sales consultant.  We bought the truck the next day, because it was exactly as the ad had explained it - even though I was expecting the "gotcha" moment, the truck was even better than advertised.  They made me a good deal on the price. I have bought over 12 cars in my life, and this was the best experience I have had.

You can make an appointment for your oil change online which is where convenience ends. Showed up for appt only to be kept waiting by technician for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement (never did get to speak with him).Spoke with another tech who told me it would be over 2 hours for oil change. I was told the appt i made was to speak with the tech and is not for the service.  Services were first come first serve and the wait would be at least 2 hours.  I was thinking of browsing for a new car but this place lost my business.

From my mom: "I have been frustrated by car trouble this last month and am so grateful for the help I've received. Thank you Chris with Vandergriff Chevrolet Service dept. You have been kind, helpful, and patient.  A great business in Arlington."

Be wary of the service bay if you are a woman, they are dishonest and will manipulate the severity of the work needed to get a high dollar repair.  I went in for regular servicing on the car I share with my college aged son.  They told me the brakes were "to the medal" and that the rotors were warped.  ( not true at all)  Unfortunately, I know a thing or two about cars and knew I just needed brake pads.   Got car back and realized it stopped basically the same it did prior to spending 571.00 for a repair.   After reading the repair order the "warped" rotors did not need new pads.  It's senseless to turn a rotor and not put new pads on, since bad pads will ruin a rotor fast.   I feel even more ripped off today.   I spent 985.20 on my car for all of the repairs and they were so anxious to get the extra dollars, that they did not change my filters as requested.  I feel as If I would have been better off taking it to a "repair" shop in the hood.   Steer clear of them, they are way overpriced and will take you for everything in your wallet if given the opportunity.

Buyer beware!  After the sale, there is no service.  The service dept. Personnel are rude.  Calls to management are never returned.  Go to Jerry's in Weatherford for service after the sale.

Vandergriff Chevrolet's service is top notch! Although I did not end up purchasing my vehicle from this dealership, they became my go-to place for getting my car serviced. I've had two emergency type situations where my car broke down and I needed it fixed ASAP and Vandergriff came through on both occasions. Once, my car broke down around lunch time and my car was towed to Vandergriff. We handled everything over the phone and my car was ready to go by 5 PM. Another time, it was NEW YEAR'S EVE and my car started acting crazy (turns out it was just the battery). I was literally about to head south on 35 towards Austin but had to take a detour and go to Vandergriff. My car was fixed within two hours. Unbelievable.

Although I now own a Honda, I would definitely recommend Vandergriff Chevrolet for service. They are outstanding!

Absolutely not worth .5 a star.  Customer service does not belong in the same sentance when describing Chevrolet.  Phone manners: Less than zero in friendliness.  Service Department:  Should remove 'service' from this department because they apparently do not know what that word means.  NO STARS. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Went in for a recall on my car. They are prompt, and have great customer service. They have a great shuttle service that took me home and came and picked me up.

Bought my 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ here. The salesperson brought my vehicle, and contract to Irving for me to test drive and to sign up with no commitment to buy. I got a great deal as well! Would do business with them again on a new chevy!
