Specialties

For 50 years, we have specialized in lot financing, also called "buy here pay here."  This means we do not use your credit score to qualify you for one of our loans.  Why are we different from other places?  It's simple.  We have been in business since 1963, and are family owned and operated.  You will see three generations of our family in the office everyday.  In addition, we report to the bureau, helping you build credit.  We ONLY sell clean title, non-rebuilt cars.  Come join our family!  It's as easy as filling out our online credit application.

History

Established in 1963.

My grandfather, Alfred Haislip, started our business by selling a couple cars in his front yard.  Over the years, he saved his money, lived a very modest living, and grew the business.  My dad, Ronnie, is the current owner, and has brought the Auto Mart into the 21st century.  We are now Nashville's oldest Buy Here Pay Here dealership.  I graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and am doing my best to keep us on the cutting edge.  You can see our full inventory at automartcars.com, and even get approved online by filling out our secure credit application.

This place reminded me of the shady used car dealerships you see on cartoons when you grow up. Like you are so excited to have a new car and literally once you get it out of the parking lot it all falls apart. They acted so friendly and tried to make a point that they were family owned and better than the "Sketchy Indian stores" around them. After spending over $1000 at mechanic shops in less than a month on car I bought from them I wish I would've given my business to those "Sketchy Indian stores".
After one week my car didn't start without any cause and after trying to jump it I had to get it towed and found out it was completely dead. Around $200 for a new battery. The next week my check engine light came on. Week 3 my car door wouldn't open so I spent a week getting in and out of the passenger side waiting for a chance to take it in.
Since the salesman I bought it from told me to comeback if I had any problems or if any lights came on I drove clear across town to Nolensville Road Auto Mart two times before I even was able to talk to anyone about it. And once I did get to talk to the owner Jordan he made perfectly clear he had mechanics on sight but they weren't going to waste there time on car he already sold. Also the front desk lady talked to me like I was some dumb redneck for even trying to come try to pursue the help that was offered to me by the salesman the day I bought the car.
I finally found a really nice mechanic near me that fixed my car within 24 hours. Unfortunately the check engine light was from a bad catalyst sensor that cost me around $550 and replacing the door handle cost another couple hundred.
After over $1000 in repairs in under one month of owning a vehicle I bought from this business I'd strongly suggest shopping elsewhere. They have made my first months of living in this awesome city just dreadful. Either family owned carries a lot more meaning when you see it where I moved from in Montana or these people are absolutely full of it.

Sleazy, dishonest and trashy business. These people are crooks. DO NOT do business with them. They will harass you from day one and threaten to repo your car over tags, insurance - things that are easily fixed if someone where to call me and ask me to take care of them. But NO, they call and threaten, cuss, scream and call me names. Real piece of crap people. The owner Ronnie is a real piece of work. Most unprofessional person I have ever had the experience to have to deal with.Do yourself a favor and DO NOT business with these creeps.
