Established in 1956.

Starting as an American Motors dealer in South Philadelphia in 1956, the owners moved the dealership to its present location in the Philadelphia Airport Automall in 1970 as one of the original 5 dealers.  Today, the Automall has grown to include 14 franchises and Family Chrysler,Jeep, Dodge is still owned by its original owners.

I have been bringing my car there for years. But lately I have been having a lot of difficulty making an appointment for service. When I am connected to the Service Department by phone a voice slightly garbled talking at the speed of lightning goes on a big spiel saying to call these other numbers and blau, balu, blau. Then the call ends with: Leave a message and we will call you back in a half an hour and then they don't call you back at all let alone in a half an hour. I guess they are doing good to be so busy or don't have enough help one or the other but I could talk to somebody in the Pentagon quicker. So I have no complaints about their past  maintenance service in the past.  But I'm not begging anybody to take my business. Therefore  I will travel a few miles further to go to David Chrysler while I'm at  David's, I may buy a new car from David if the price is right.
I thought after the third and last time I called, Allen Funt from the old television show was going to get on the phone and say smile, your on candid camera but Allen Funt never got on the phone and therefore sadly I never received the two free passes for  a free meal at a mediocre  restaurant that Mr. Funt used to hand out.

My fiance and I stopped by to check out a Jeep Wrangler. Not fully educated on the different models we were intrigued to learn more about them as we've talked about perhaps purchasing one. Pat Medora, one of the sales associate, happened to be outside and greeted as we were walking into the lot. He asked several questions and immediately took us to the Wranglers. Pat was extremely nice, helpful and friendly. He made us feel very comfortable and not rushed or eerie about buying a car. His personality won us over which made our transaction so much worthwhile. Needless to say we drove home with a 2015 Wrangler Sport! Pat Medora is the guy to see!! --Satisfied customed!

My Jeep got broken into when it was getting serviced here. Now I could understand that maybe you could not notice if they opened my door and took my stuff. But I a soft top Wrangler and the TOP HALF OF MY DOOR WAS BENT TO A 45 DEGREE ANGLE. The manager said he checked the lot after he was aware that other cars got broken into as well. When he saw my Jeep with its bent door and ripped top, he thought it "came in that way". He didn't file a police report (like he did with the other cars), he didn't put in the shop when it rained (full of water when I was picking it up), he didn't call me to even check to see if it was normal (picked it up 2 days after being broken into with no call....). Really, its the worst place, with the worst people. I'll make sure that I get the Manager's name and put it on here once I find his card later on.

Oh and the fix they did on my clutch... clutch blew out again 2 weeks later... fantastic

This dealership is not their for the "Family" just for self gain. ​I purchased a vehicle from your dealership on January 12, 2012.  Since that time, I have been a loyal customer.  I bring my vehicle to your dealership for all maintenance/service issues.  I am upset and disgusted by the way I have been treated this last 1 1/2 months due to damage on my car done by one of the service technicians/mechanics with your business. Below you will find a brief synopsis of what has happened over the last

04/14/2014: called dealership because air bag lights still comes on, back of driver's seat panel is falling down and door was not closing properly (seems like it is off track)--was told to bring it in on 04/17/2014.

04/21/2014: while drying off the lot, found damage to the driver's door, called the dealership and was told to bring the car in to be looked at. After waiting for over 3 hours, went to the service advisor Shannon Hicks, and asked how long it would take. In the end, I was told it was not their fault, I asked to see the service manager who is Rich Bosak.

05/05/2014: my father in-law and I went to the dealership to speak with the General Manager Frank Ingargiola, I was told by an employee to go outside the dealership to use my cell phone and call, and then put in his extension. At that time, I was directed to his voice mail. Mr. Ingargiola then called back about 10 minutes later. I explained that my father-in-law and I were down stairs in the show room and would like to see him to discuss the damage to my door.   He refused to come out and speak with us and instead sent the service manager out to take pictures; I was then told there would be an investigation.

​This is now over a month later and I still have no resolve.  I have been dealing with this dealership since I bought my car on January 12, 2012 and have only come here for all my maintenance and repairs.  I do not deserve this kind of unprofessionalism from this business and I would like to speak with one of you as soon as possible. Your Mission Statement is "YOU'RE MORE THAN A CUSTOMER...YOU'RE FAMILY!"  However, I do not feel this way at all.
NOT ONLY LOST A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY, BUT A CUSTOMER....

The previous review that was here I removed because I thought this dealership honest and old fashion . Pat the salesman plays the old timer card he leads you to believe he a guy who is honest and knowledgeable .  The sales manager Franky (Eyes) who I also thought to be a friendly and honest guy won't even return my phone call. This is the same guy who shacked my hand and gave me a hug when I came in to buy my second car. When you buy a car here or anywhere read everything in front of you do not trust what the salesman says or any other person in that dealership. Always get what you want in writing and remember look out for the snake in sheep's clothing or in my case disguised as a old guy. Good luck and be safe.

I just brought a new 2014 Chrysler 200 ...Tim Barlow is the man! He helped me out and gave me options....never making me feel pressured to buy! He made me feel comfortable and went out of his way!!! I'm definitely coming back when I want another new car and will recommend this place to anyone looking to buy a new car...they work with all types for credits and everyone around is nice and makes you feel like family ! These guys are awesome. I was going to get my Grand Cherokee from Cherry Hill but supposedly they said they couldn't trade my car because it was a Ford lease, unfortunately I found out after I got there and I am from Philly so I came back empty handed. The day after I decided to try at Family Jeep and I worked via email with Amanda, very nice girl and super patient. She told me they were able to take care of the lease take over etc. Once I got there, Tom helped me, though I was nervous that they were gonna tell me they couldn't do it either they did it and in a timely fashion. They took over my lease and gave me a great deal on my car, even better by a couple bucks than I was quoted. Once I was done I went upstairs and had coffee and pastries with the owners and we had great talks. I have to say that their name fits them well, I really felt like family there and I will make sure to tell anyone.

It was time to buy a new car and I was dreading the wheeling and dealing that has to go on to buy a car.  Who has the time and energy for that anymore?! I had 3 cars that I was researching and needed to test drive.  My first stop was Family ,I was immediately greeted (not attacked) by Tom Hartman, who was warm,  personable and very knowledgeable .  After showing me a car I was interested in and explaining all the options, I received a price for the car I had chosen.  I explained I had  two other cars I wanted to check out and would get back to them.   Well, the other dealerships were not as friendly, professional or accommodating.  I went back to Family, Tom found me the car that I love with the specific options I wanted, went on his day off to pick it up and I bought my beautiful new Grand Cherokee that week.  Great price, great warranty, great experience.  I can't imagine a better experience for purchasing a car!

Brought 3 cars (Nissan Rouge, Chrysler 200 and now, a Jeep Liberty) from this place and to be honest, each time I came here, I was in a situation and just wanted to get in a car: for that reason, they serve their purpose. I haven't even paid too much attention to my paperwork. Just made it clear on what I wanted my note to be. I love my jeep that I'm in now.

Just make sure you make them work for your sale and remind them who has to make the payment every month if they begin to get pushy with you. I can work the hell out of folks nerves but remember, CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT!

This has been the single worst experience I have ever had with a dealership/mechanic.  We took our vehicle in for repairs to the tune of $1k and on the way home, I was almost in a serious accident when the truck broke down on I-95.  We had it towed back to the dealership the next day (which they refused to compensate us for).  They ran a diagnostic, admitted that they replaced one of the parts with a faulty piece, and told us we'd have the car back in two days.  A week later, they still had the truck and refused to compensate us for a rental car.  After finally loaning one of their vehicles for the final two days they had the truck, we picked it up last week.  Yesterday, it stalled three times before all of the warning lights came on and it started clanging and smoking, then died in the middle of the street.

Stay away from these incompetent swindlers!

I wanted to add a review for the sales service I had today... Although I didn't buy a new car, I was very pleased to sit and talk with sales rep Tim Barlow who showed me some new cars and crunched numbers for me. It was a great pleasure to work with such a friendly and professional man and I will definitely  be calling him up when I'm ready to trade my Chrysler in! Thanks Tim!

Run far away from this place!!! They overcharged me for my Jeep, then admitted that they did, and for "compensation" gave me a extremely limited service contract. Now after months of trying to get someone to help me and being flat out told that they simply will not respond to me anymore (justifying ignoring me), I'm filing a suit against them in small claims court. I wish I never stepped foot in this place.

Do not do business with these people, they are crooks!!

If i was able to give this place no stars i would have. This could possibly be the worst dealership i've ever been to and that's saying a lot. I went to look at a Jeep Wrangler here and ended up walking out because i was insulted by the salesmen. They tried conning me into buying a used Jeep Wrangler so they could get it off their lot. So i left and bought my new Jeep at another dealer. I then come by a few months later to get an oil change here and i had a promotion for 3 oil changes and 2 tire rotations. They said i couldn't use the promotion since they did not have the correct paperwork at the dealership for it. What a joke that was. I decided to just get the oil change. I got a call the next week saying they got the forms in and i would be all set the next time i was there. So i went back expecting to be able to get the promotion. Boy was i wrong. Everyone who worked there said they they've never heard of it and the finance guy who was suppose to know about the promotions told me it was a promotion only for the dealership i bought my car at. I then proceeded to show him the very large promotion banner they had right at the entrance of the dealership. I wish you all would have seen the look on his face. After another hour of waiting he finally "found" the forms. I then waited another 2.5 hours for my car to get a simple oil change and tire rotation. I should have been in and out of there in an hour with my 9am appointment but ended up being there for over 3.5 hours. I would definitely recommend not getting their car serviced here and definitely not to buy a car here. There are many other reputable dealerships in the area that actually care about the customer's experience.

less snake like than the majority of dealerships and actually seem like they give a damn. I had a good buying experience back in 2010 and will most likely buy from here again. The lifetime oil changes and inspection are a Big plus.
During 5 service appointments I was able to get in and out (oil changes,tire rotations...) within an hour. That's pretty damn fast for a dealer. I did have a few bad experiences but that was pretty much involving their sub-contractors (sunroof leaked,3 visits until it was resolved) the pricks even left their lunch trash on my passenger seat.
One more thought.The free lifetime oil,inspection is sweet but it's a long haul to and from... 80 miles round trip for me. Sometimes it's tempting to pay a corner mechanic Just to avoid the long,traffic jammed ride.

I have been a loyal Family dodge customer for 10 yrs and I am highly disappointed in my latest experince. I bought a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan with 21,680 miles on it in 08 it now has 38,620.  Ever since we purchased the vehicle still under warranty it was back in for the power door not shutting, check engine light kept coming on, erg valve had to be replaced 2x's while this was happening I kept complaining about excessive oil burning in the van. They did my oil changes and I was still having to put several qrts in between changes. They even told me for whatever this year and model van tends to burn more oil and you might have to add a quart.  Conveniently as soon as my warranty was up surprise new code shows up on diagnostic machine! Cylinder 2 misfire cause=ing oil to leak into my engine and now I need a whole new engine. When I freaked out as to why this was not taken care of while it was under warranty they told me this code never came up and we fixed the ones that did. Basically they did what was required by law under the warranty but did nothing to find out its cause. They told me the total to repair would be $5980 and they would assist with $1200, I could not believe my ears. A car that I have only put 15,760 miles needs a new engine and they are not at fault and refused to pay for it. I see customer loyalty means nothing these days. I will never buy another Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep as long as I live and I will tell everyone who will listen about my horrible experince with this dealership.
