On Monday, October 20, I was told they were moving to 2nd and Callowhill and repairs were not being scheduled after Wednesday (including work needed to comply with recent recall).  No notification to long-term customers.  No notice on Web site.  Good riddance.

I visited the service department at DeSimone Mitsubishi for my annual car inspection and needless to say, I was highly disappointed with the service I received. I was informed by the desk attendant that I need two small repairs on my vehicle to pass. I questioned one of the repairs (a loose rearview mirror) and asked if I could see it. I was escorted back where the technician showed me the mirror and began wiggling it. It was hard for me to see where I was standing so I decided to get in the vehicle and wiggle it myself. Before that, I asked Oleg the technician a question and he promptly shushed me by holding up his hand. Was I wrong for questioning what he was telling me? In any case, I get in my car and notice there is a screw on the mirror and inquired as to whether or not the repair could be made by tightening up the screw. Apparently Oleg does not like to be questioned because he went off on me. He became belligerent and started saying, "what you don't want to pay for that? You want that for free!" His tone was hostile. So I said, "sure!" As I was walking away, he called the desk attendant back while I was still within ear shot and said, "I don't know why we should have to do that repair for her for free." First of all, he offered it during his rant. Second, I think he was trying to rip me off for $25 when he only had to tighten a screw. Third, I don't know if he thinks that since he was dealing with a woman he can do and say whatever he wanted, but it is entirely inappropriate to speak to customers the way he spoke to me. I will never use the services of this company again and do not recommend it to others.

I should also mention here that I watched them try to charge a woman $80 for two new wiper blades on her car in order to pass inspection.  Her blades were brand new!  She left and visited two other facilities and had them look at her wiper blades and both said they were completely fine.  Amazing how suddenly she was able to pass inspection once she returned to DeSimone.  Be careful if you do go here.  They will make up repairs to try and squeeze additional money out of you.

First visit say a little rough. Receptionist wasnt very helpful but the second visit was much better.  Both time problems seemed to be fixed and service  completed was good

The service at DeSimone Mitsubishi  (garage) is GREAT! We were late getting our oil change and thought we would have to wait tip next day or even later in the week. One phone call to the garage and they said bring it right on in for service. HAPPY! just HAPPY! I would recommend coming to the DeSimone garage for service on any vehicle. By the way we purchased a brand new OutLander from DeSimone  also, they were great too!

Unless you are looking to pay for services that are not rendered, don't go here. Our car was hit in March and the other driver's insurance paid for the damages. Desimone repaired parts that were paid to be fixed without consulting us and kept all of the money paid from the insurance company to replace those parts. Obviously, this is fraudulent and illegal. We are still fighting to get this resolved.

I think Eva V. works for these people so take her comments with a grain of salt.  That said, I'm on board with all the other yelpers who reviewed this place: THEY ARE THE WORST.

Here's my horror story (which has not ended yet): In February of 2013 my '02 Mitsubishi Lancer's SERVICE ENGINE SOON light came on so I took it to Lommano's Auto Repair shop (like I always do, he's an honest man) and he scanned it and came back with a bad "bank 1 catalytic converter."  He then informed me of a recall on a part that would have made the cat converter overheat and I needed to take it to a Mitsubishi auto shop to get it fixed at no cost to me.  I took his advice and Desimone was the closest shop to my house at the time so I took my car to them on 3/4/2013.

I had no problem the first time around.  They fixed my car and sent me on my way.  Now it is a year later and my SES light came back on so I took it back to Tony Lommano.  He scanned it again and it came back "bank 1 cat converter."  He also informed me of the shady ways of dealership repair shops and said they need to look at it again and if it is a bad cat converter, they should fix it.  Well, I brought my car back to Desimone on 3/5/2014 and left it for the day.  A few hours after I dropped it off I got a call from Bob, who was apparently fired recently, and he told me his "diagnostic machine was malfunctioning" and when he hooked it up to my car, the SES light turned off and there was nothing further he could do.  I thought it sounded weird, but I picked my car up later that day and he said if the SES light came back on to bring it back and they'd scan it again.

Of course a couple days later the SES light came on and I've been battling with Desimone as to how I can resolve this issue.  The new woman running the shop, Sherri, scanned my car and it was indeed the cat converter that was bad.  She informed me that I was out of warranty for the part because it had been 12 months and 1 day (the warranty is only good for 12 months).  Also, the original work order done in 2013 showed the mileage on my car as 93,000 miles, but it was actually somewhere around 130,000 miles.  I now have 141,000 miles on my car which shows that I drove about 48,000 miles in the past year.

I have been in contact with Mitsubishi Customer Service and I am waiting for a response, but in the mean time, I am without my vehicle and probably will be for the weekend.  THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WORST!  Customer service is terrible, they lie, and they will do anything they can to save themselves time and money.

The jury is out for this place. My car should be back tomorrow, in which case three stars will become five mainly because the wreck chaser who stumbled on my accident had exemplary customer service.

Update: The jury is back in--I can confirm the love ends after the wreck chaser says goodbye. Car-less still nearly one month later, it's clear to me this place has chased way more wrecks than it can handle. The second and third stars are for the wreck chaser and the beautiful vintage corvette in the showroom.

How is this place still operating? Save yourself a big headache and STAY AWAY. My car was there for less than 12hrs and I wanted it out of there.  The Better Business Bureau gave them an F- and they have/had multiple lawsuits. I was told that I will have to pay $750 if I wanted to drive my car out of there (less than 24hrs after my car was towed there). After threatening them with legal action they told me that if a tow truck picks it up then the other shop will pay and nothing comes out of my pocket (hhmmm). When the towing truck came one of the owners told them it was already picked up. A week later I get a call from the same owner stating my car is still there and nobody came to pick it up!!! My ins called them and told them that they have him on a recording telling the tow truck driver that my car has been already picked up! Busted! They were trying to hold on to it for as long as they could to get money. Lies lies lies!

STAY AWAY FROM DESIMONE AUTO BODY!! FRAUD!!! We paid our own, trusted, auto body shop to take our car apart again while our insurance company appraisers were there and it is documented that DeSimone Auto Body committed insurance fraud! We are now in the process of trying to recoup the $4500 out of pocket that we had to pay to prove this. If anyone else had work done there, call your insurance company immediately and ask an appraiser to come out. A well trained appraiser can look at your estimate and your vehicle for tell-tale signs that work was not completed properly, or at all! I hope this message saves other people from living the 7 month long nightmare that we are going through. They used zip ties and "L" brackets with sheet metal screws to put our car back together and did not repair or replace many parts that they were paid to do. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, DO NOT ALLOW YOUR VEHICLE TO BE TOWED TO DESIMONE!!

Desimone auto group is like the devil--Scratch that. Desimone auto group is the devil. No words can adequately describe the month of hell that they have put me through. My car was hit and ran in September and the aftermath of the accident was much more traumatic than walking out of my house, turning the corner, and noticing my beautiful car sitting on top of the sidewalk.

First, I was approached by a man wearing a shirt that said Philadelphia Police, he knew my name, and walked around the car describing the accident. He led me to believe that all criminal vehicle accidents were taken to a certain dealership in the city (DeSimone). Naturally, since I assumed he was a cop I went to this body shop. This was a horrible and dumb mistake on my part. The police are NOT affiliated with any auto body shop in the city. I found this out after filing a police report for impersonating a police officer.

Second, so you don't have to do all of the research that I did. Desimone has 19 claims with the BBB. Furthermore, they settled a $26,000 law suite in April 2013. Also, the tow truck driver received a twenty percent commission on my car for the total damages. In my case it came out to be $1,836. I found this information on a Philadelphia newspaper article concerning "wreck chasing tow trucks" Desimone was referenced in the article. Clearly, I am not surprised.

Third, I have never dealt with a more condescending, disrespectful, and dysfunctional business in my LIFE. For example, management referred to me as a "princess" multiple times, told me to do their job and call my lien holder because they are "my" lien holder, and told me my car would be ready when it wasn't on numerous occasions. In fact, when I called them today they told me that my car was still in a bunch of pieces, that they had too many of the same car so they didn't know which one was mine, and then the owner proceeded to scream at me. Since I was so distraught when they told me they didn't know which car mine anymore I had my husband call. Desimone then stated "I don't know where her car is." Are you kidding me???!!!

Thankfully, my cousin is one of the best lawyers in the city. As of now I still don't have my car and I am terrified of what kind of condition it will be in IF I ever get it back. I am also planning on calling NBC investigators on them.

Liars, Manipulators, Schemers, and pure evil.

I echo the other post "If you see a Desimone tow truck coming toward you, RUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNN"

Eva V. | 2013-08-25

Simply.....a woman ran thru a red light and hit my car when out of nowhere a tow truck appeared. They promised they would take care of me and my car which is the love of my life.....for real!! I've worked so hard to buy this car and I was terrified to trust it to strangers. They told me they would handle everything from A to Z. They did!!! Today I picked up my car and it"s good as new. Great customer service, I highly recommend them.

I have rarely been so disgusted by an organization which is why I feel compelled to write this.  (Note: First time ever posting on YELP).  I was in a major car accident.  Fortunately for me, I have State Farm Insurance and AAA.  Someone from Desimone heard that there was a bad accident over the radio waves that are submitted to the police. (I did not even know that this was possible).  A fellow from the auto shop walked over to my car wearing a police t-shirt with a tow truck behind him.  I asked him if he was a cop (why else would you be wearing a t-shirt that says Police unless you are a cop or impersonating a cop) He told me that he was not a cop but worked closely with the cops as a first responder.  I was shaken up from the bad accident and I got the whole "oh honey don't worry about it we are going to take care of everything routine"  I told them that I had state farm insurance and they told me that there was no reason to call state farm since they were affiliated with them.  This was a lie.  In short - - these people were trying to take advantage of me, a woman in distress.  They wanted to tow my car to their shape which was not a state farm approved autobody so that they could get the work.  After trusting my instinct to call State Farm I learned that they are not affiliated with this autobody and had never heard of it. I called AAA to tow my car to a state farm approved autobody shop and told these men that I would not give them a single nickle of my business.  In short before doing business with this organization know that they are wreck chasers that prey on people in distress.  I had $10,000 worth of work done to my car and I am glad that I took it to an honest body shop.
