Reviews on Premier Auto Wholesale

I'm not a huge reviewer on here, but when someone REALLY has it coming (good or bad), I try to make a point of getting on here & letting them (and others) know.  Jeff Stone at Premier saved me about $4,000 this week.  I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer... and THREE other local shops had told me that the repair needed to get the vehicle past DEQ would run me upwards of $3k. I'd basically written my Chevy off as junk, and literally went to Premier to look at buying a Chevy truck he had listed online... (I chose Premier in the first place for two reasons: (1) they often deal with vehicles previously owned by governments ... those kinds of vehicles have excellent maintenance histories, and (2) because of the other positive reviews here on Yelp... glad I did that! Good lord... find a decent car on CL and then check Yelp for the dealer's rep ... 80% of them are freaking *nightmares*!)

Anyway, when I got there, he said that I really didn't need another car. Instead, he suggested that his shop could fix my current car's problem for a price that I honestly couldn't believe (under $700, and that included extras like new brakes, a new muffler, and some other small repairs). Sure enough, a few days later, the big problem was gone, the car was in much better shape b/c of the additional stuff, the car passed DEQ, and best of all I didn't have to buy another car. He even loaned me a beater while they worked on mine.  I'd saved up (well, borrowed) ~$5k for this whole hassle, and wound up in a much better place for way less than $1k by the time I paid him & went to the DMV, etc. So, he actually saved me $4k+.

I had a good look around at their shop while there... these guys *know* motors. (Not that I'm exactly qualified to say that, of course, but I just got the impression walking around their shop that these guys actually know what they're doing about 10x more than the other shops I'd been to in recent times w/ respect to the same problem I was having.) Anyway, I hope I don't need a new (used) vehicle for a good long while, but if and when that day comes, I am 100% going to see Jeff @ Premier, and will recommend them to as many others as I can.

Various family members have purchased cars and/or had mechanical work done here, and we have been very satisfied. They seem to be HONEST !!!  -RL

I purchased a car from Premier Auto Wholesale this week. Larry (the owner) and Jeff are both nice guys. I found the vehicle on a Craigslist ad and then contacted them to ask a few questions about the car. They posted the VIN number in the ad and gave a little background, which was helpful.

When we went to look at and drive the car Jeff was very low stress sales person. He was happy to let me drive the car and answer all of my questions. I had another appointment to drive another vehicle that night and Jeff said, "Oh absolutely, go drive the other vehicle. You need to get what you want. If you decide this is the vehicle you want then just call me and I will hold it for you."

I called Jeff that night and let him know that I wanted their vehicle. Two days later I went into Premier with cash and my trade-in. Jeff had already started the paperwork. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. The best and lowest stress car-buying experience ever.

Premier Auto Wholesale doesn't look like much when you see it. It is a very small little lot where they also do auto mechanics. It is packed tight with cars.  It is old, a little junky, and the sales office is cramped with a lot of stuff. Larry, the owner, is a self-professed pack rat, but "you never know when you might need a specific thing." ;-)

Most of the cars on the lot are probably $5,000 and below, however they are now getting a few vehicles that are more in the $6,000-$10,000. I think they are pretty specific about the cars they want to sell in that range. They want clean titled cars that have been maintained.

I liked them so much I have asked them to find a mini van for us. I gave them make and price range.

It feels really good to support the local, modest shop that has been there since the 80s. if you are looking for a used car then give Premier a look....say hi to Jeff and Larry for me. :-)

UPDATE: 7/29/2014
Had a little problem with my Honda and took it back to Premier for service. AGAIN, amazing customer service! They repaired it for me at a very reasonable price AND gave me a loaner while they had my car! Can't say enough good things! Thank you Jeff!
UPDATE 8/19/2014
I continued to have problems with the Honda Civic Hybrid. It was having an overheating issue, rough startup, as well as a loss of power issue. They looked at it and replaced the thermostat for free, however that wasn't it. Long story short....I had a blown head gasket (ouch!). Here is where Premier is far beyond others for customer service. When I talked to Jeff about it, once they figure out what was going on. He said, "Well we figure it out! It is the reason for all the issues...the heating up, the rough startup, the loss of power. You have a blown head gasket." My heart sank. All I saw was dollar signs. He said, "We are going to take care of 50% of the cost, because we feel like it is the right thing to do. You bought it from us 6 months ago, and while we had no idea this would happen...it just feels like the right thing to do to take care of half of the bill. WOW! RIGHT? I just picked it up and it runs beautifully. All the issues GONE and my bill- $915 instead of $1830. Thank you Jeff, Larry, and John. I am loyal for life!
