Reviews on South Pointe Chevrolet

The service department is subpar. When I pull in for service, I am rarely greeted by a service representative. I usually have to track one down as they are to busy talking amongst themselves to help a customer. For a simple oil change I usually wait upwards to two plus hours?? I would never let this dealership do a major repair. As I waited in the lobby for my last oil change, another customer brought her car in for a oil leak. Come to find out she recently had her oil changed here and they didn't tighten the oil filter!!! Luckily the customer caught it before she needed an engine rebuild!

I will NEVER purchase from them again!  Purchased two rather expensive cars from them, returned to purchase a used car for my daughter. The treatment I received from the used car manager was totally unacceptable. I tried to make a complaint by phone and with 3 separate response from the company. They clearly DON'T care how customers are treated.

1st, the shuttle left early and I had to wait 50 minutes for a ride to work. I wasn't called when my car was ready. It took 23 minutes to check out, no one behind the desk then, paperwork not in the system yet. Got to my car, and not only had it not been washed or vacuumed, as listed as a couple of your amenities, the mechanic's floor & seat protectors were still in the car! Then I find out today that my tires haven't been rotated in over a year (didn't even  think to double check that this was being done because it's automatically done every time we take any of our vehicles to Ford and it's included in the price of the oil change) and it hasn't been recommended! Simply disgusted with South Pointe Chevrolet and will be taking my business to Bill Knight Ford from here on out. And I'm only giving 1 star because I can't give a 0

I bought my car here in April. While that was an ok experience (sans the finance guy..I was pre-approved). I have taken my car to their service center and the service is below subpar. Both times I've scheduled an appointment for routine maintenance (i.e. Oil change, tire rotation) and both times I've waited over 3 hours for my car. I will NOT be back here again!

I called the service manager thursday afternoon on my way home when the service engine light came on, so he said to bring it in.  I did so around 8 am friday morning.  i played the audio recording from onstar that identified the engine code that was showing up.  I use this truck daily for my landscape business, and it is my only means to tow my gooseneck trailers that haul my heavy equipment, so they know how much i need this truck to stay on the road.  Friday late afternoon/evening Mike Renner called and said that they were test driving it after the codes were read by the diesel mechanic .  The diesel mechanic said the problem passed computer tests so he reset the computer to clear the codes.  I picked the truck up saturday morning around 10 am.  After driving around town for 4-5 hours looking at possible jobs, I was very dissapointed to see that the problem had not been corrected the first time, as the light was back on again!  Mike said to bring it in again so I did so monday morning, even though i was counting on it to conduct business monday.  I picked up the truck monday evening around 5:45, after the problem was suposedly fixed...we will see if that holds, as I don't have much confidence in southpoint's diesel mechanic after this episode, or many of the past incidents in where the problem was no fixed or brushed under the rug and turned out to be major problems later.  Those are different stories than this.  This is why this nice 2011 truck with only 35,000 miles has been traded in for a brand new 2013 dodge one ton cab and chassis truck, after the abysmal treatment from GM and multiple failures by southpoint diesel mechanics to properly diagnose and timely fix problems with my truck during the past 18 months.  I would like to say that service advisor mike renner has been nice to work with as always, through all of these frustrating times, and I do not fault him for the mechanics multiple failures or for the treatment from southpoint and GM.

My Wifeand I bought our vehicle from South Pointe from a gentleman named Amado H. in August of this year. We weren't too thrilled to buy from South Pointe due to our experience in the past at this same dealership. We had found the Management and Salesmen to be less than forthcoming and underhanded. They would try to tack on fees that were totally unnecessary and dishonest to say the least, needless to say we did not buy from them. However, our latest purchase was completely to the other extreme. We were treated honestly and it seemed as if Amado was totally concerned about getting us the very best deal possible. It also seemed as if he had leverage with the Management that was not common among the other Salesmen. Our experience with Amado was unmatched buy any dealership we have dealt with in a long time! We were not asked to purchase anything additional nor were we hassled in the least. We typically HATE going to dealerships because of the hassling of the Sales people and their carelessness for trying to really get you in a vehicle you want. We went in, knew exactly what we were there for, what we wanted to pay for it and left no room for pushiness from a salesperson and I'm glad to say we got what we wanted (But not without help from a true Salesman). So, this is a review about the dealership but, more so for the salesman who1 represented his company well. Thank you Amado!!!!! Ask for him by name.....he will not disappoint you!
