Reviews on Hatfield Volkswagen

BEWARE OF HATFIELD VW SERVICE! Had I gone with their "expert" mechanic recommendations, I would be $5,000+ in repairs that would not have fixed the problem. Because I questioned for weeks what they said they thought "might" be the problem and pushed for more definitive answers, they finally found a frayed wire as the culprit. Still ended up paying $457 for a wire and a car wash. Their policy appears to be starting with the most expensive approach. Do yourself a favor and find another place for service. Hatfield is NOT the place to go!

I wanted to take a minute to commend - as well as thank - the staff at Hatfield VW for providing 1) not only a great price on our new Golf TDI, but also 2) an easy and pain-free time while at the dealership.  From the onset of the process when my wife and I inquired about the vehicle, to ultimately driving off the lot, Matt and Clayton were great to work with.  No pressure, they answered all our questions, and went above the 'call of duty' from start to finish (for instance, Clayton going out and shooting a video to send to me via email of the interior and exterior of the car).  And coming from out of town added another small wrinkle...but I was treated like family and didn't encounter any surprises while there for my delivery.  In fact, I felt right at home even though it was my first time setting foot into their building.  Overall, a class dealership, with class people working there.  I highly recommend picking up the phone, dropping an email, or stopping by to check out Hatfield VW!  Thanks everyone!!

Do not go here for service. I needed tires and asked them to call byers vw as they did not have them- hatfield stated byers did not have them. I called byers and discovered they had them but hatfield refused to do the service and lied to my face. I regret my two car purchases from them.

I've bought two new vehicles from Hatfield and have enjoyed their service through out the years.

My Routan van had a few recalls along the way, but both the service department and the sales staff have been amazing.

I've also had a few "heated" discussions with the used car manager, however the other employees have been fantastic! If you want a new car VW's are great, Zach M. is a great sales associate & the Manager Glenn M is awesome!! If your car needs service Ben C. or Nick P. are your guys!

Over six years with them and only one small issue... I can't say that about the other places I've shopped for cars or bought cars at. These guys are good!

Car died. Had it towed to the dealership. Got the call that they had to put it on the diagnosis machine. After that they Called and told me it would be around 650 to fix it. Called two days later said it was done.  when I went to pick it up the check engine light was still on and told me it would be another 100 plus to run a different diagnostic test. I would have thought the first diagnostic test would have shown some code and they would have alerted to me what that issue is.

Stopped in and purchased a 2013 VW on 4/26 late in the day. - Our sales man Jason Butts was Class-A. Great guy, helped us out every step of the way. Definitely recommend talking to this guy. I give him 5 stars!! Got the numbers where everyone was happy, and off to the finance guy.

Seems he was behind, and we waited over half an hour to talk to him.

When we go to him, the finance guy was very friendly, and seemed to have a good mood about him, Talked, and had a really good conversation, until about halfway through the process.

The price we agreed on was not having extras such as paint protection, cloth protection, etc. Normal dealer upsells, and when we noticed they were back on the invoice, we kindly said we did not wish to purchase these extras.

He went into his 20 minute thing demonstrating how they protect this and that, and trying to pressure us into paying for these. When we declined, this guy's mood changed for the worse, and became quite short. Complete 180 in his attitude. It was like it was another person who was having a very bad day, clearly ticked.

Unfortunately,  I can't read his signature on the paper work to get his name.

Kind of left a bad taste in the end, If our signature wasn't already on half the papers, we would have walked.

This concerns the service department, though if the folks on the sales floor are as awesome as the service staff, I imagine that it'd be a good place to trade in my poor old Jetta when I finally decide to go through with it...

Anyway, this dealer is actually really out of my way - a good forty minute drive - but I still find that I come here more often than the service centers closer to me.   Yes, they specialize in VWs which gives me some peace of mind, but more important is that their prices seem pretty reasonable, all considered, and the people are really great.

First and perhaps foremost, the folks here are straightforward and come across as honest.  I've never had them try and push some "extra" option on me when it comes to service, or threaten me with "if you don't do this then...." tactics which I have run into all too often elsewhere, including other VW service centers.  Even when I have had issues arise, the problem is usually presented in a fashion of "Well this probably needs to be fixed but you might be able to go XXX number of miles/months before it becomes critical.  Something to keep in mind."   I also never get the sense of being looked down on even when I ask what might be stupid questions, nor do I get that "little woman" sense that is all too common at other service shops.
Oh, and my car runs very well considering it is over 100,000 miles at this point.  What issues I have had with it have nothing to do with servicing.

Beyond the work itself, the staff and environment here are very pleasant, and everyone goes the extra mile to make you comfortable.  I usually end up waiting for service to be completed, which isn't so bad since there is a keurig-style coffee machine (try the chai!  It's really good) and the staff is usually able/happy to take you across the street to the various stores and restaurants.  This last visit, though, they actually shared some delicious Chinese food with me.  ...To be fair, I was there for about four hours (100K services  - bring a thick book), but I really appreciated it.  So did my stomach.

If you are on their mailing list, keep your eye out for discounts and special offers.  10% can make quite a difference when something truly goes wrong and the bill adds up....

Great service department who always gives me options of what i can afford and what I can put off for a month or two.  I would definitely buy my next car here too.  Trustworthy and great!

I drove from almost 200 miles away to purchase a 2013 Passat. They appraised my trade-in exactly what I was expecting, approved me for an APR that was much better than any other dealer or bank could, and the vehicle was $2,000 cheaper than anybody else could do!
Excellent buying experience and will for sure be back when I'm in the market!

I had my first free, scheduled maintenance on my 2014 Passat.  The service department was friendly and efficient.  I'm looking forward to returning soon!

Called them on the phone and asked what a 40k service cost? They said $350, then when I got there I could choose between basic service $649, standard around $729 and premium around $800

Great sales department.  Fast and easy to deal with.  I bought a used car from them (Zach) and they had competitive pricing and they were willing to fix two tire pressure sensors, a new set of keys, and new battery.  Would use them again.

Great Service department and professional staff   Thank you for your time and taking care of my car.

Sara F. | 2013-08-14

Bought a used car from them for a good price. They fixed some cosmetic defects it came in with at no charge. The car started to idle rough about a week later, which they also took care of at no cost. Their service team is friendly and efficient, and won't try to throw in unnecessary extra services. In fact, they'll test drive your car for free before servicing it to make sure they don't charge you for needless inspections.

Fantastic sales and service center. I've owned BMW's, Saabs, Hondas, Fords and Subarus and service has been the best here. You don't have to find a parking place; just pull up, honk and a hangar door opens to let you in to an indoor parking bay. I didn't have to say why I was there. The info I gave when I scheduled my appointment was already accessed and all I had to do was chill in the lounge. I asked a simple question of how they made my car so clean and shiny when I first picked it up and the associate went as far as speaking with the car washers and parts department to get me the exact items and methods used to clean my car and even wrote it down for me. For me, that is a level of customer respect I do not encounter frequently.
