Reviews on Hatfield Subaru

My husband and I just purchased our first vehicle on our own while planning on trading in our current non suburu vehicles . I poured over all kinds of research for numbers for our cars worth, prepared for your "typical" car-salesman and refused to be "taken". The day before we went to hatfield we went to a dealership that socialized in our make and model to try to get a fair market appraisal of our own vehicles. It was a horrible experience. Your typical cringe worthy car "pusher" salesman. The stereotype was so obnoxious it would have been funny if it wasn't such a miserable experience. We went to hatfield the following day completely apprehensive, I even pushed our appointment later because I was just dreading dealing with the same experience as the night before. I came into our appointment wound up on the defense and ready to rumble. Haha the moment Andy, the manager greeted us, I could already tell it was an entirely different ballgame. If it wasn't a physical car dealership you wouldn't think this was even the same world as the dealership I was at earlier. No "pitches" no bartering, no games, no pressure. Where the night before we spent two miserable hours at a different dealer (getting no where except frustrated) Monte, our sales associate, somehow covered the topics of hot sauce, our favorite Whiskey, football, our dogs, some really great stories, all while offering us exactly what we had wanted for our trade ins, gave us our space to pick out the car we wanted (he could totally read his customers well and could tell we knew what we wanted and we wanted it quick and respected our space to do so). I can't even begin to explain how seamless and relaxed Monte and Andy made this big transition for us. Hatfield had no idea we were coming in so discouraged and wound up so it was like a sigh of relief when we got there. It felt more like we were dealing with a bunch of highly knowledgeable Subaru "hobbyists" or "enthusiasts" rather than a working "car pusher" sucking the air out of the room with their obviously commission boosting pitch. I'll cut this short but really I couldn't be more grateful for the type of service we received from Monte, Andy and our finance specialist, Brandon. Everyone was so incredibly thorough without being condescending or pushy or even offended that some crazy cranky girl came in with a pen and clip board in hand ready to battle the terrible car salesman. Haha it's laughable now because we had such a wonderful experience. Monte forced me to listen to his "spiel" even though I was tired and I was so glad he did, he was right there were a bunch of neat eye opening and necessary tid bits in the Subaru manual. Monte also hooked our phones up to the car with the blue tooth (I had no idea it did that). Now I know all the awesome "extras" thanks to Monte, he's the man! We are moving to Seattle in less than a week (which is why we purchased the Forester) and I can honestly say, we would drive the 38+ hours to purchase our next Subaru just from Monte at Hatfield. Thanks guys for making it so easy!

We have purchased many cars over the years and I have to say the Subaru purchase we just made at Hatfield was the most pleasant experience we have ever had. We've never had a salesperson more knowledgeable (and enthusiastic) than Mark Keppel - and sale manager Andy Butler was very helpful. The bottom line -- we do a lot of research and spend a good bit of time when we buy a car and these gentlemen made it very easy and pleasant -- no pressure, good advice and a willingness to work with us.

Great social skills over the phone when making my appointment. The service department explained what would all be involved and made me feel very comfortable bringing my Subaru to them!

Meh, they were ok.  I know I'm a dork and a gearhead, but I hate when car salesmen know less about their product than I do.  We eventually cut a deal and were reasonably pleased, but it took three return trips to get a minor paint flaw taken care of to our satisfaction.  I drove past Byers to get to Hatfield; I'm not sure I'll do that again.

We had a fantastic experience with Mark Keppel, new car sales. Very fair deal that was not changed one bit when we arrived at the dealership. Super nice guys that we worked with. We came here after visiting 2 other Subaru dealerships that were much closer to where I live, that we weren't impressed with... worth the drive. A+
