I wouldn't trust these people with my car, they are a typical sleazy Brooklyn mechanic. They did not one but TWO illegal things in the 30 mins my car was there:  I came in for a NY State inspection, and the kid (shop owners son) out front said "Hey I can fix that crack in your bumper for you." I explained to him that I have already bought the front bumper online, but I haven't gotten around to it. He said he could install it for me for $50. That sounded fine, it's about 15-20 min job. So I went and got the bumper, they did the inspection, placed the sticker on my car and started removing my old cracked bumper.  Then I get the bill, it's for $200 more than discussed and I declined in disbelief. (Illegal thing #1) I asked about it, and the kid says "I'll be right back". His father, the shop owner comes back angry. When he discovered I wouldn't pay he started yelling "I'm not doing it for $50, you know how much it should cost." No I didn't, and $250 is way too much anyway, AND his idiot kid told me himself he'd do it for $50. They should have stood by it. For all I know this is their way of extorting money. He then angrily walked up to my car and yelled "FINE" and rips off my inspection sticker. (Illegal thing #2) Remember, this is the shop OWNER. The problem is that the sticker is state property, it's like destroying a registration. In fact, he's an idiot because it's instantly registered with the DMV, so I don't have to pay him, and I just got the DMV to send me a replacement sticker.  He said something in another language to the guys working on my car, so of course it was something like "just slap that bumper on quickly" or "cut his brake lines". They quickly did a half assed job putting my bumper back, and I drove off.  So overall I got my inspection sticker without paying them, and to prove how easy the bumper job is, I simply did the it myself with a screwdriver. It was easy, definitely not worth $250. I also discovered they in fact did not completely reassemble all the bumper parts.  They are my first and only true nightmare mechanic story. I even reported this to the DMV, so they sent out an investigator. They slapped them with a warning and the investigator did a write up. The shop owner concocted some story, and the report was sent to me. It was totally inaccurate.  Now I only go to the best rated mechanic on Yelp, L&M foreign car, and they are much more professional.
