This place is overpriced & definitely doesn't follow through on their work.

I requested they fix few items when I took it in after being rear ended & they failed both times I made my request. There is a HUGE disconnect with the person taking down info and the people actually doing the work. They did the bare minimum & charged me a ridiculous amount. One of the employees also stole my sure-fire flashlight ($125 tactical flashlight)
On a separate visit I paid them almost $200 to find a water leak coming in to my GTI, they claimed they found the leak & that it came from the gasket of the rear hatch handle, a few weeks later my trunk was full of water again...

Don't waste your time or money, this place is for "suckers" or for people that have money to burn!

This service department just plain sucks. I call them to ask about warning lights on my dashboard, they say " just bring it in, no appointment necessary." Sounds simple enough, right? Just to make sure I can get seen immediately, I make an appointment for 9:30 am. I get there on time, and the guy asks me whether I'm waiting or dropping it off. I tell him that my appointment says waiting, and the people on the phone said waiting wouldn't be a problem. "I don't know who would've told you that. It's gonna be a few hours before we can work on your car." Wait, what? What's the point of the appointment system? What happened to diagnosing it without an appointment? "We don't do that here." Why did you say you did? "I don't know." Well, sounds great. Now, I've wasted my entire day coming down here, only to be told that everything they told me on the phone wasn't true.

I'm convince this place will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you in the door. It's honestly worth driving to Long Island to get your VW serviced at a better place. If you must go to a dealership for VW diagnostic stuff, go elsewhere. This place is just plain terrible. Don't go here.

Absolutely awful!!!  They were rude, tried to blame the problems I was having with my car on me, and then lied to the VW Customer Care agent that I contacted falsely saying that they had offered services to me that I had declined. Their motto should be--if something is wrong with your car--it must be your fault.  I would like to continue to own VWs, but they need to hire better service people, at least in Brooklyn.

Maybe the worst place on earth.  Any joy from buying a new car will be destroyed 10x if you attempt to deal with these people.  On top of being completely incompetent they are also liars.

Where do I even start? Do not step your foot in this dealership. They promised me a car within a few days of course I received nothing and couldn't even receive my money back. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. The people hang up and you and don't come through on their agreements. Wish I could give them no stars.

Absolutely a bait and switch co.  Sent me a coupon as well as placed a sticker in my windshield for 10% off my next maintenance.  When is came time for that maintenance today they refused to honor it.

I am giving Bay Ridge Volkswagen one star because I can't give it none. Yesterday, I made an appointment to test drive a Passat Diesel.  I showed up, check book in hand.  I had no reason to suspect I would be not only ignored, but treated with utter contempt, given the fact that on the way over, I received a call confirming my appointment.  

Not only did the folks at the dealership have no record of the appointment they had just confirmed, when I approached the salesman whose name I had been given, he treated me like I was imposing.  And the car that I was told was waiting for me to drive wasn't even there.

Here's a suggestion to this dealership:  If you are in the business of selling cars, and I suppose you must be, despite the fact that it seems to be too much trouble to do so, please make sure to treat your future customers with a little respect.  Remember, they have the money, and your livelihoods depend upon your purchases.

I leased my 2013 Jetta from here and have taken my car in twice for service, so this review is for both the dealership and service dept.  

The process to get my car was very pleasant.  I originally had gone to Open Road in the city and those people made me feel like I was stupid for not taking their deal and they even talked bad about Bay Ridge VW.  I almost took their deal, but in the end they just creeped me out with how badly they pressured me and were talking down to me.  I went to Bay Ridge and dealt with Jorge who not only gave me a better deal (which apparently no other dealership would be able to provide according to Open Road) and he even made sure I got the car I wanted even though I had to wait a few days for it to be brought over from another dealership.  Overall great experience.  Jorge has a nice calm demeanor and was patient with all of my questions as well.  

As for service, I had a bubble in my tire so had to get a new one and a few months later had to take my car in for annual servicing and inspection.  I couldn't be happier with the appointment process, although now I know I can even make one online.  Everyone was friendly and got me in and out quickly.  The best part is their hours.  They open at 7:30 and close at midnight.  Super convenient.

BUYER BEWARE!!! BAIT & SWITCH!!!

Do not buy a car from these crooks!  

I got a call from Joann Hinz on Wednesday evening at 8:30 PM (30 min before closing).  I informed her that I was looking for a TDI model, Jetta with the Premium Nav Pkg.  I didnt care about color, or transmission, or pretty much anything else.  She informed me that they had 2 Jetta's on the lot, and proceeded to tell me all about the colors and interiors, etc.., and recommended I come in the next day.   The next morning at 9:00 AM, I called her back and confirmed that they indeed had the models on the lot, and she assured me that they did and that I should come in.

Later that day I left work early, and set out on the 50 Min train ride to Bay Ridge. When I got there, I found Jorge, as Joann apparently actually didnt work in the VW Dealership, but out of the Honda of Bay Ridge just down the block.  

Jorge proceeded to inform me that they not only did not have the 2 Jetta TDI models that Joann assured me were there, but that they in fact had a total of zero (0) TDI's of ANY model on the lot, and he didn know why anyone would tell me differently.

Needless to say, I was less than pleased and I ranted about it for a few minutes.

DO NOT BUY ANY CARS FROM THESE CROOKS!  SCAM ARTISTS!  SHYSTERS!  

These are the type of folks that give car salesmen a really bad name.

STAY AWAY!!!!! These people are terrible! Brought my car here after discovering a leak from the sunroof. Nelson said it wasn't a big deal and there was no structural damage, just clogged drains. They (supposedly) fixed it and returned the car to me only to have the same leak occur the next day. Brought it back and they said they would take care of the problem. This time they discovered structural damage and had to replace the tray the sunroof sits in. My skepticism to their professionalism is now on high alert. As frustrated as I was that they now discovered this expensive problem, I had no choice but to proceed, they clearly use this is a tactic to increase their revenue. Nelson tried to convince that I was getting a great deal and lectured me on the fact that I didn't purchase an extended warranty... All part of their plan. The day I expect to pick up the car Nelson called me again and told me they had to replace a part (sun shade for the sunroof)  that was not damaged when i brought it in and nearly doubled the original quote they gave me. I was beyond irate by the time I entered the service department to pick up my car. The staff are liars and scam artists, seriously, stay away!

Have brought my Jetta Wagon here several times. The physical layout is a series of ramps, stairs, narrow corridors, and office dividers of varying heights. The guys at Bay Ridge VW seem terribly on edge or miserable or both. The ownership has set up a fragmented workflow where one person checks in your car then another person lists whatever the problems is and passes the information to yet another person, then the mechanic works on it, then somebody calls you to tell you your car's ready (this part doesn't always happen), then you go back to the guy who listed the problem and he basically tells you that they've fixed it -- or they haven't fixed it because some part needs to be ordered, then you go to the cashier to pay, then you bring your paid invoice to the guy who oversees the guys who move the cars around and he has somebody drive your car down one or another ramp (they never tell you exactly which one), out of which your car will emerge. And then you drive it home. With so many people involved in the process (and so much volume), the level of service suffers. Having to repeatedly explain what's wrong with your car gets tiresome. Making multiple visits to correct the same problem gets aggravating. After a while, you just give up. Bay Ridge VW is a 15 minute drive for me, but I now drive about an hour to Koeppel Volkswagen on Northern Boulevard in Queens. The difference is night and day...

I brought my 2008 VW Passat Wagon in for service... Aside from the fact that after 45k miles the car is seemingly in self-destruct mode, I was completely dissatisfied the the service at this place.  Nelson, they service manager was nice enough, but it took several phone calls to even check the status of my car.  They had it for 4 days to fix a few small problems.  One of the problems they fixed was a clogged drain that was causing water to drip into my passenger foot well from under the glove box.  They fixed the problem, sure, but did they bother to vacuum up any of the water?  No.  The floor is still soaked.  What a sorry excuse... I'm selling my car and getting a subaru.

WARNING! BEWARE! Brought my car here to be tuned up and also looked at for leak in sunroof. I have a VW Passat wagon still under warranty and they refused to work on the roof because I purchased the car at a VW dealer in NJ. Paid over $600 for tune up which wasn't done properly nor was work completed.  Contacted VW costumer care who informed me that as a certified dealer they are required to fix the roof and other issues under warranty regardless of the fact that it was purchased at another VW dealer. The manager was very unprofessional and rude and did not care that they did not complete the work required. Volkswagon is investigating the matter and will take further action. Do not bring your certified car to be repaired by this dealer. There are several around the NYC area that are professional and will complete the job that was required. Too bad for them I would have made my next purchase of a new VW at their dealership because it's close to where I live but after this I will travel the extra distance for honest service.

Yesterday we walked into this car dealership.  It took about 8 minutes for anyone in there to acknowledge our existence.  But eventually we were greeted by a curly-haired broad who noted "oh ill be right with ya, i just gotta eat my slice."  How rude we felt because we must've interrupted their mid afternoon pizza party. Luckily we are no longer in the second grade, so we headed for  the champagne of bay ridge car dealerships: KIA.

My family lost our 2011 Volkswagen Jetta due to Hurricane Sandy. Me and my father decided we wanted a 2013 Passat with just a sunroof in platinum grey. Salesman said he was confident he could be able to find it within in a week, so we left a $500 deposit. We received a call a few days later informing us he couldn't find that combination, he only could find it with a GPS and sunroof package for more money. We called a different dealership in Staten Island and they had several in stock in the sunroof and color combination we wanted so went there to buy the Passat. Not only that, but we also got 66 months interested free. INTEREST FREE. Bay Ridge Volkswagen did not offer that, and when we  tried to negotiate a lower price for the GPS package since they couldn't find the combo we originally wanted, they just kept saying we can not do anything. I would like for them to explain how a dealership less than 15 miles away can offer a better deal when they're both Volkswagen dealerships... Crooks... All dealerships in bay ridge are crooks...I went back to pick up the cash deposit we left and it took 45 mins to get my refund. I did not get one apology or explanation. Very dissatisfied, they'll deposit your money right away, but give you a hard time to refund it. I'll be sure to tell everyone to stay away from these degenerates.

So where do I get off writing a review of the Bay Ridge Volkswagen Service Department when I know absolutely nothing about cars?  Well, stick with me for a minute.  I brought my 2005 Jetta in for a smog certification for which Nelson Morales quoted me a price of $37.   As I had previously paid $60, I figured this was a pretty good deal.  Then I remembered that I hadn't had the car serviced in over two years, so I asked if they could do that.  Nelson said that the 60,000 mile servicing was due, and I agreed.  When I saw that the servicing charge was $250, I suddenly recalled that independent garages were usually much cheaper than dealerships. Going to the internet to compare prices, I found that charges ranged from $500 to one poor guy in Colorado Springs who was ripped off for $1,100, with the average running about $600.
The next time I need something done, I'm going to Bay Ridge, even if I have to PUSH my Jetta there!

I purchased a 2011 Volkswagon Jetta 2.5 SE.Diane my salesperson gave us a wonderful road test of the car.She was very friendly and nice and anwered all our questions.We fell in love with the car and decided to lease it.A very nice friendly negotiation took place and we were given a GREAT Lease DEAL!
A few minor glitches arose during the delivery of the car but they were cheerfully resolved.Coulda used a drop more gas on the way home...hahaha

Jeff the General Manager sent two VW shirts to help compensate for the faux pas.

The car is amazing.I particularly like the Automatic transmission which
has S drive.This gives the car really nice pickup when needed on the
highway.The Jetta is as advertised better than the competition.Get the 2.5SE 5 cylinder Engine its amazing.

I highly recommend the Dealer and the Car.
