Classic last minute charges/price bump up on new car purchase. I was quoted an out the door price several times. It was the same price until the last minute when the salesman said he used the wrong sale tax number 8.3 not 8.8. They wanted me to pay the difference. I said no. I was quoted an out the door price not a sales tax rate. I don't care what tax rate you use do your job and give me an accurate out the door price! The sales man then sent me a shaming/threatening personal email after the sale. VERY unprofessional.

After a really poor experience at Plaza Honda Saturday morning, I went to Bay Ridge Honda Saturday afternoon.  We bought a car within one hour on a Saturday afternoon at Bay Ridge Honda. The car was picked up Monday since the bank was already closed on Saturday. No problems from start to finish. I believe we got an overall good deal buying the car and trading in the old car. There were no 'sleazy car sales tactics' like you might expect at a dealership. It was actually a no nonsense sort of deal since we had done a lot of the research already. The pick-up on Monday was easy and the car was set-up (radio presets etc.) and finer points / options were explained; all questions were answered.  Can't really ask for anything more.  The salesman was Harry (he is actually the sales manager) and we were quite happy with everything he did.  Also happy with the woman who 'closed' the deal and explained the car to us on Monday. Great team at Bay Ridge. In comparison, Plaza Honda needs a lot of work before even touching the great experience we had at Bay Ridge.  I have a separate review of my experience at Plaza Honda. Plaza should be embarrassed. Its almost like they dont want to be bothered with customers or sell a car.

This is my 2nd Review. The first one was last year saying how great my dealer was Mark Anthony because he would call me every day until i wrote the review after that he never bothered. I went back to this dealer more than 5 times my car broke down after 1 month. And they never cared. The exhaughst just broke down while i was in the highway driving it was miserable.. Please be careful if you ever go to this dealer its just the worst one ever. I didnt even keep the Honda Accord for 1 year i had to go and change it with a Toyota Camry since the accord kept breaking down im much happier with Toyota.

Just bought my 2nd car here. I don't understand these negative reviews at all. I would honestly never shop at another dealer. Honda makes a great vehicle, but the service really makes this dealership. I've only worked with Mark Dance in sales and Jack Bankson in finance. Mark is above and beyond amazing with his commitment to the customer. Jack makes signing a loan equivalent to some people's yearly incomes a great experience... Contrary to someone else's post, there are no hidden fees.
Ask for Mark Dance to find the right car... Ask for Jack Bankson to finish up your loan. You can't go wrong with these guys!

This is the 3rd Honda dealership I've been to in NY and the 3rd to receive a poor review.  The only thing that kept me from rating it 1 star was Mark, my salesman.  This also could have been a 5 star rating had they actually closed a deal with me.

The story goes, I went into the dealership with a True Car price and a trade in.  They offered me 15k for my 2010 Saab, which was a great offer, but I took some time to think about it and shop around.  When I finally came back to the dealership, I was about to sign the contract when the GM comes over and says "Don't let that car go until we reappraise his car."  Once they finished, they came up with 10k.  The sales manager actually seemed apologetic and told me that he would do some research to get me close to what they had originally offered.  I left annoyed, but hopeful.  I've done my research, I know what Saabs are selling for nowadays and was confident they would come up. The sales manager was nice enough and my salesman was a cool guy so I didn't worry.

Two weeks pass by and I have not heard from anyone except Mark, who called to apologize for the situation.  I've left multiple messages requesting a call back to discuss the car because I still wanted to make a deal, especially since a competitor came up on their offer for my car (the only reason I did not go with the competitor was their efforts to charge a Dest. Fee twice).  I also wanted to give Bay Ridge a chance.  Since then, I've been told multiple times "They will get back to you first thing." No one has called me back and I think it is pretty sad that I have to be the one to constantly call. I had a dealer check in hand and was ready to deal. Meanwhile, the car I want to buy is still on their lot, unsold. Not only that, but they were concerned that my car would just "stay on their lot," and that's why they couldn't give me more.  If you don't want it on your lot then send it to auction. 2015 is looming around the corner.  Are they not concerned about all those 2014s left over that they will end up having to make deals on to get rid of them?

This is just another example why one needs to leave the NY area to buy a car.  Dealers here think they are the only stores in town and can treat people however they want.  I've been given several referrals to NJ dealers who don't play these games.  Respect to Mark who was a good guy, but not going back there.  Disgraceful.

After having terrible experiences with the Honda Delaerships closer to me, we went to Bay Ridge Honda thinking it would be different.  Unfortunately, after we bought a brand new car there two weeks later it developed a leak - not a puncture.  Went to change the tire and NO TOOL BAG anywhere in the car.  As a result, we had to use a fix flat to get the car back to Honda Service near us.  Of course, HONDA wouldn't replace the tire because apparently 2 weeks is wear and tear for the tires, AND BAYRIDGE HONDA refuses to mail me a toolbar.  I dont live in Bayridge, but I guess 20K on a new car isnt enough to get good service or cover the stamps to get a toolbag that should have come with the car.

This review is for my experience with the Bay Ridge certified preowned Honda dealership.
BEWARE of the hidden fees. They advertised one price online and when i got there to negotiate they hit me with over $1k in additional costs, non of which were mentioned on their website. I was able to negotiate and get those hidden fees waived but then I was back at the listed price.. Basically got nowhere.
Don't bother believing the person on the phone as they'll do and say whatever it takes to get you to come in, they earn $10 for doing so. Once I got there the sales rep told me they do that all the time and there's nothing they could do to honor what the person on the phone said, are you kidding me??
I was very disappointed by the whole experience and wouldn't buy a car there if they were giving it away for free. I bet the post-sale experience is just as sour.
I ended up getting my car at Paragon Honda, paid a bit more but got piece of mind and didn't deal with liars.

My wife and I went to this dealership with two good friends to test drive a couple of models we were interested in. The sales rep we worked with, Mark Dance, was unfailingly professional, courteous, and helpful, giving us useful information about the models we looked at and helping us to narrow down our options. I'd recommend him as a sales rep to anyone.
