As others have reported before; they will try (or succeed to rip you off).  First let me start off by saying when I left the dealership I had fully intended to leave a five star review.  I drove up from the Philadelphia area to purchase a used vehicle that was advertised well below book value.   I read many scary reviews and even found a class action law suit detailing their shady illegal practices.  It looks like they re branded from Giuffre to Bayridge after all the negative press.   (Bayrige Dodge and Bayridge Fiat are the same dealership)…

I figured as an educated consumer and that fact they have been burned in the past this would not happen to me.  I called and spoke with Ivan, I explained that I was two hours away and we negotiated a deal over the phone.  He offered me a very fair price for my trade, I put down a small deposit and made arrangements to pick up the vehicle.  I drove up half expecting the bait and switch. Well the car was there and the price and trade was honored, they even took an additional $200 off the price for the financing even though they knew they didn't have to as I would have purchased either way.  

Now lets get to the reason for my one start review.  After waiting an hour and half to meet with the finance manager Mona, we sat down and started the paper work.  I clearly explained to Mona and Ivan that I did not want any additional warranty or service contract as the vehicle still had it's factory warranty.   We went through the paper work and I noticed the total cost of the vehicle was about $1200 more than I agreed.  Mona explained that this was the total cost with financing (if I made the minimum payment every month), which sounded reasonable.  I signed and left the dealership as a happy consumer.

Several weeks later I received a letter that I had purchased a four year tire and wheel warranty for $1200, I quickly called the dealership to find out how this had happened and cancel it.  Apparently someone signed me up for this warranty while I was waiting to meet with the finance manger (they claimed that I signed the contract but refused to show me), and when I asked about the additional total cost I was blatantly lied to.  Now speaking to the finance manager the only way to cancel the warranty was sign a cancellation request in person (knowing full well I would not drive two hours).   After fighting with both the finance manger and Iggy Giuffre, they finally agreed that a signed notarized letter would suffice.  It took a few weeks and several phone calls but the warranty has been refunded.  I am curious how often they pull this but I bet it's pretty frequent.  My advise as a whole is to stay far away from this dealership.

Please do not trust the positive reviews on dealerrater as they are clearly fake and done by dealer themselves.

This place is the WORST! I think I would seriously rather fix my car myself. Their customer service is freaking horrendous and it seems like no one who works there has any idea what's going on, ever. Not to mention every time you go there your last service adviser doesn't work there anymore.

I brought my car in for a week and a half over the summer. When I brought it home an exterior panel on the side was falling off. I called them and they said they would fix it. I brought it back in and they said they had to order the part. I called back. They said they didn't need to replace the part just fix it. So why didn't they do it? I called again just now they said it needs to go to the body shop for 2-3 days because I haven't wasted enough of my time already. I asked them if there was anything he could do to compensate me and he said no. I said "you know your customer service is horrible, right?" and guess, what he said "yes, I do". So why not work on it?

Also, when I brought my car there over the summer for a week and half I was supposed to have it detailed. I went to pick it up and after 10 days it hadn't been detailed. Excuse me? Last time I went in for an oil change they never changed the mileage sticker that indicates when I should have it changed again. How do I know they even changed it at all? This place is a freaking joke. I'll be finding a new place to service my fiat. I'd rather sell my car than deal with these incompetent morons again.

Cont. part 5

On my way there I got off the wrong exist and ended up on Verrazano bridge and had to pay a $15 toll. August 24.2014 when I got there I was told by Neal the sale person it wAs sold. I asked what times it was sold? 4 people did not have a answer for me.  They wants to sell me another car and!!! I just said thanks for wasting our times looking for a car thAt was never there to be sold in the first place.

Update: My boyfriend, Gary, having more faith in human nature than I, called and complained to Fiat Corporate. AND THEY FOLLOWED UP. I mean, really diligently followed up. The next thing we knew, the dealership was calling, asking what they could do to make it up to us...

Yeah RIGHT, right?

We in a matter of a few weeks, we got FREE new Mopar/Thule ski roof racks. Installation included.

And to be honest, the biggest reason it took as long as it did to get them is because we've been so busy. But corporate wouldn't have it. They called Gary every few days for a status report. They called more than our moms call us. Even after the original Fiat rep for our case was replaced with another, they they never let up.

So, while I'm tempted to upgrade this review to 5-stars - because I am totally happy with how this was resolved - the fact of the matter is that Fiat corporate made the difference, not the Bay Ridge dealership. The dealership never offered us anything until corporate got involved. I give the dealership credit for obeying their corporate office, and for not giving us a hard time after we had, most likely, gotten them "in trouble." For what it's worth, the sales manger was replaced by the time we got the racks, but I have absolutely no idea if it had anything to do with our case.

Interestingly, the dealership was fully aware of my original review. Not sure if they noticed it before or after corporate contacted them, but the new sales manager made reference to it during a call about the racks.

You only get one chance in life to buy a new car, however my experience at this particular dealership was partially what I expected on the business end but still yielded me from putting up any stars. (Had to put up a star but this is not a proud one) SORRY NICK THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH. I went in to purchase a car, my credit score is very poor (being honest) so my thoughts were this car is going to help my credit in some way. I was working initially with Johnny, but NicK being more of an experienced salesman stepped in and tookover. Everything was going well... I must say Nick did an excellent job that evening trying to get me approved for a car in which he did succeed. Where things went wrong was, the part where they neglected to tell me that the car they happen to get an approval on for me they were selling to me as is. (Wish I Had a Picture). Anyway that night they asked me to leave a $500.00 deposit to hold the car for me before legal purchase. My issue with this dealership is after I decided that I did not want to do business with them anymore I went in on 4/1/14 to be refunded my money and 4 days later 4/4/14  I have yet to get my refund. Poor poor poor way to do business. I dont appreciate the wait time and the bouncing around from one rep to the next.  I gave them the deposit when they asked why can't I get my refund back when I asked. I dont appreciate it and furthermore they will not be receiving any referrals from me.
