Although the location of the dealership and price of a new car may have changed throughout the years, what have not changed are the principles that have made our company successful--honesty, integrity, and teamwork.  At no other dealership will you find the atmosphere of cooperation and commitment to the job that you find at City Chevrolet.  A company has to be doing a lot of things right to stay in business over three-quarters of a century.

Reviews on Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet

I've been trying to coordinate a test drive and potential transfer of a vehicle for going on two weeks now. I spoke to a dealer and she was extremely nice but after out first conversation I haven't heard from her since. I spoke to an online consultant and she was short to the point of being rude. She assured me a rep would contact me and that has yet to happen. So far this is my worst car buying experience.

Can I give no stars???  Horrible experience with sales staff and management. Don't buy here. Find any other Chevy dealership in Charlotte.

Worst car buying experience ever!!!! My husband and I went in today to buy a new silverado. We went to this dealer ship because we were told on the phone that we were approved for the truck over the phone with a low monthly payment. We went in and sat down with the salesman Jesus. Although we had already been approved and filled out a credit application online he made us fill out another one. This was fine until he kept leaving us at his desk multiple times. After an hour of him going to talk to other people he came back and said that we actually weren't approved and that we could get a used truck instead. We said ok and he sent us to the pre owned office. Another hour went by with paper work and we hadn't even been asked which truck we were interested in. He then left and said he was going to show us a truck. As we were waiting we went outside to look at the different trucks and saw a few that we loved. He then came out with the keys to the oldest piece of crap in the lot. We were insulted that he was trying to put that piece of crap on us. We told him no we don't like it and said that he would have to ask his manager. My husband makes good money at a very well known company and we were willing to put a chunk of money down. They treated us like we were garbage and couldn't afford any of their cars even though we already own a new Chevy sonic. We left with out a truck and called the manager a little later. The manager did not try to make things better and took up for this rude salesman! He had even talked crap about another customer to us! We will never be back to this dealership! Unless you come with a stack of cash don't waste your time!!!

My previous post regarding my unfortunate experience with City Chevrolet Collision Center in Charlotte yielded an immediate phone call from management asking me to meet with them and a promise to deliver my car immediately (my repair, following a rear end collision that I suffered on March 28th, was promised (in writing) within a 20-25 day deadline and here we were, mid June and they still had my car!)

Our "meeting" included the General Manager of the store and the Collision Center general manager. They confirmed that they understood my concerns and agreed that the service received was unacceptable. They also informed me that the person working on my case had since been released.  They offered to "make me whole" and asked that I propose a solution. I presented my proposal, in writing, and substantiated it with facts and figures. Thankfully, I have a very thorough paper trail from all of my interactions with them and this made it very easy to back up all of my arguments. They disregarded my proposal and offered what they called a "good will" solution. Needless to say, this solution was only "good" for them. For me, it was both unacceptable and insulting and I declined their "solution". I explained to them that I was not seeking a "hand out" or "a favor", I was seeking fair and just reimbursement for the damages incurred as a result of this nearly 60 day delay in delivering my car. They never bothered to respond.

I was hoping to have good news to share on this forum, but unfortunately, I remain completely disappointed with their services. I have my car back, but have since discovered that the convenience entry access is not working and the tow kit in the back of the vehicle is missing and was not replaced (they had promised to replace with a new kit - this never happened). I am dreading having to take my car back to them for these repairs - this time, I won't have a rental car!!!!

My next step will be to file a grievance with the Better Business Bureau and to continue to post updates on this, and other forums, in hopes of preventing someone else from going through what I have been put through.

I recently purchased a used vehicle from Hendrick City Chevrolet. Upon purchase of the vehicle, I asked that they balance the tires before I take it off the lot. They agreed. They did not balance the tires at this point. Upon realizing this, I took the vehicle back to the service department, while balancing the tires, they then let me know that the car needed an alignment as well. After reassuring me that they stand behind their vehicles, they then charged me another 100$ worth of an alignment less than a month after the purchase of the vehicle. I purchased from this dealership because of their promises to provide a vehicle that I could rely on. I guess their pre-sales check isn't so comprehensive. I'm not coming back.

HIDE YOUR WIVES HIDE YOUR CHECKBOOKS! The staff at this dealership was extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. Our experience was so bizarre. My husband and I visited the dealership ready to purchase a Chevy Tahoe LTZ. My husband and I would ask a simple question and they'd leave us sitting and would never come back. We left after spending a considerable amount of time there and not getting any information. At one point they even paged our salesman over the speaker and sent him to assist another customer in the used car building. My husband and I actually left the dealership. A few days later they called my husband and offered us a very specific deal on a new 2015 Tahoe LTZ. My husband was out of town for work but asked me to go in to take the dealership up on their offer. I was highly opposed to returning to this dealership but I agreed to reluctantly. When I arrived the dealership once again left me for extended periods of time. They started off by suggesting that I see the inside of one of the  tahoes and left for 30 minutes to get the key and returned only to tell me they didn't have the key. I then told them that was fine that I didn't need to see the vehicle but wanted to proceed with the paper work for the purchase. I was presented with paperwork that differed dramatically from what was offered over the phone. I asked several simple questions in an effort to clarify the transaction. I started to feel that I was being deceived. They responded to several of my questions by telling me that they had to find out the answer. They left multiple times, each time for at least 30 minutes. The few questions that they did answer contradicted the paperwork they were pressuring me to sign. Eventually they told me that I needed to meet with the finance manager. They said he would be available in five minutes. Forty five minutes later the finances manager came into the office. I asked one basic question to which he responded "these are sales papers. I don't know these papers." He said he was going to find out for me and left the office. An hour later he had not returned. I work in the financial industry and felt that the staff was not only trying to pressure me but trying to deceive me. I think it is entirely inappropriate that between the three gentlemen in the office with me nine of them could answer my straight forward questions in the three hours I was at the dealership on my final visit. After I left the dealership they called my husband and not only told him the "deal" was off but lied to him about specific events. This dealership wasted our time and provided poor customer service. We purchased the vehicle from Steve Moore two days later.  They were fabulous.

There are no opinions here. Just facts. You said my heads were cracked, and they are not. Mr Whitten said that they brought me back and showed me the cracked heads while the valve covers were off. And that was a complete lie. The valve covers had not even been touched, let alone removed. I don't know if it is the management or the mechanics in the back who are responsible for all these lies, but the bottom line is City Chevrolet cannot be trusted.

And if anyone else has a similar story about fraudulent practices by City Chevrolet, please file a complaint with the Consumer Justice Department. I did, and they told me they will be watching them, but cannot take action until they get another complaint.

Spent 3 hours there today and nothing was done to my ride, never even made it into the garage for simple FREE oil change and tire rotation.  Guess thats what you get for trying to take advantage of getting something the dealer said would be easy, quick and FREE. I have sent other people there to purchase cars and trucks, (which they did) and am sorry I suggested City Chevy. I am in the market for another car but would NEVER go there....

I'm back to revise my original review and to dispute  comments from the City Chevrolet  Internet listings manager. The numbers were NOT disclosed over the phone There is no listing of the administration fee price for vehicles that accompanies a vehicle listing in used cars... The listing states "Price does not include tax, tag, & administrative fee." I received satisfaction via a sincere apology via phone from the dealership, reimbursement to me for a key I had to have made, plus a little extra. Pleased.
