Reviews on Brookdale Mazda Mitsubishi

This was my second time here for a routine oil maintenance (~$32 synthetic) and my great experience had to be shared.

The ability to schedule your visit on their website was really convenient; I just wish they had more flexible openings (I had to wait a week and a half).

It took about 35-45 minutes to get my car looked over, oil changed, and battery checked.  Their waiting lobby was pretty cozy.

Their personnel was the best part about this place!  The employee from the shop was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions honestly.  After I paid at the clerk window, I stood around at the front while the cashier that helped me walked to the back.  My mind was on something else, and I stood around for 10 minutes thinking that she took my card back to run it through their machine.  I was approached by the 3 remaining employees in the office asking if I was helped (talk about attentive!!).  The initial employee came back asking if I needed help because she gave me back my card already....ahaaaaa....that was a good laugh.  Sighhhh, early friday mornings...

They honor and price match all competitor coupons and deals.  They also have great deals on their website, so I'd definitely recommend checking that out!

You get a free carwash with your maintenance, but it's a pretty poor wash.  It washes off all of the dust and superficial dirt which helps accentuate all of the bird poop that it didn't get....

This is my go to place for my car!

About a year ago, the day had finally come. My beat up Hyundai was to be retired and replaced with something that didn't put me on a first name basis with AAA (I only get 4 calls a year?).

I did extensive research online and found a 2014 Lancer that I really wanted to check out. I showed up on a Friday about an hour before closing not realizing the time. They still let me test drive two vehicles without making me rush. I came back the following day ready to go home with something new. I test drove the car I wanted one more time and decided to take it. The salesman, Chad, was personable and not pushy. He gave me the numbers without any convincing or pressure. After factoring in my trade in, we had made a deal! They also took care of my oil changes for the foreseeable future and gave me a $200 gift card as a Auto Show special. I was able to order a complete set of weather tech mats. I have only purchased a new car once so I have little to compare to, but I was expecting a much more frustrating experience. Everyone I encountered at this location is friendly and knowledgeable. They also offer a discount gas and car wash card from Holiday when you purchase a vehicle!

Car shopping and maintenance is the worst.

As for location, can't get much easier and convenient in regards to dealership options.  you can test drive everything on the stretch of Brooklyn Blvd between 100 and 169.  My only tip is that it comes up quick, so pay attention.  Its across from Park Center High and next to Volkswagen.

I retired my old girl about a month ago and got a shiny new girl in about 4 hours of my time on a Saturday.  I walked in knowing what I wanted with a couple variations, so I guess it would probably take longer if you didn't know what you wanted.  From test drive, to trade in value, to financing everyone was pleasant and informative and made the transition from old to new easy.

My salesman took me on a tour of the building to show me where service was and to meet the gal at the counter.  That was nice cause now I won't have to go in blind and waste any time roaming around when it comes time for service.

I will update my review once I get my first oil change (free for 3 years or 45K miles on new Mitsubishi's).

I can only comment on this dealership's servicemanship, but in terms of price, expediency and service, they are top notch.

We came through on a roadtrip through the Midwest, but had to service the car at Minneapolis. A couple things their service department did right:

Timing: We were able to book a simple oil change and tire rotation the morning of. We arrived before our scheduled time but they served us immediately

Pricing: The price was reasonable. Much cheaper than what you would get in Canada and competitive for the Midwest. They present a comparison chart in their service area comparing the different prices of services as compared to competitors and they consistently came under.

Service: The actual service was great; they produced a parts health chart showing how our wheels, engine, etc. were doing and completed the service in less time than estimated. They even threw in a car wash and got off most of the bug splatter from our poor windshield and licence plate.

My bf names his cars. He loves his cars...perhaps more than me. He knows what he likes and once he decides what he wants, he will go to great lengths to get it. His mom bought a Mazda from Luther Brookdale Mazda Mitsubishi about 5 years ago, so when he decided a few years ago that he wanted a 2009 MazdaSpeed 3, he stopped by to see what options they had for him.

Eric Palmer was the salesman who seemed to know a lot about the speeds, especially since he owned a Speed 6 for a while himself. Of course my bf had done his research, so as long as Eric could get him the car he wanted at an acceptable price, it was a done deal. And it was. There were a few extras my bf asked for (like a cold air intake), that proved to be difficult (or nearly impossible) to deliver. Without going into major detail, Mazda stopped making the part, and it had to be a Mazda part installed by a Mazda dealer in order to not void the warranty. Anyway, after a LONG while, numerous calls and emails, and a lot of frustration, Eric made it happen.

So, I guess I should consider myself very lucky that my bf doesn't cycle through girlfriends like he does cars...because less than 2 years after purchasing his Speed 3, he had his sights set on a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (admittedly as a result of watching Tanner Foust drive it down a snowy mountain on "Top Gear"). Like I said, when he decides he wants something, he will stop at nothing to make it happen. So, the search began for the perfect 2011 Evo, and it started at Brookdale Mazda Mitsubishi. They didn't have one in stock with the features  he was looking for, but after 6 weeks or so calling all over the country, Eric finally found one in Georgia and negotiated a deal with the dealer down there to have it transported to Minnesota. When it arrived, Eric put a big red bow on the hood (just like you see in the Christmas car commercials), and for my bf, it was love at first sight! Thanks to Eric, now he has everything he always wanted in a car...that is until the next one comes along.

A side note about Eric and the dealership: they really try to build relationships with their customers. Every time we show up there, we feel like we're family. This summer they hosted a customer appreciation barbecue, and there were no gimmicks. You could show up, enjoy some good food, chat with your salesman, or take advantage of some service specials they were running, but there was no big long spiel or pressure to buy anything. Just a day to say "Thanks for supporting us"...It was pretty cool. So, if you're in the market for a new car (or used), you should check 'em out.

Back in Minnesota for a family funeral - not the time you want car trouble. Thankfully, when our check engine light came on, Tim at Brookdale Mazda took good care of us.

They diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it quickly (sadly, it was all due to bad work done by another shop). Dealer labor prices are always higher than I'd like to pay, but in this case, they made it right and got us back on the road without any hassle... exactly what we needed.

Worst car buying experience ever, hence we didn't buy anything.

My dad and I are impulsive buyers and we went to this dealership ready to buy.  I mean, we walked the lot and found the one my dad wanted in color and trim.  He hadn't really driven a Mazda before but he thought it looked nice and was what he was looking for.  The man was pretty excited to go buy a car, he's been obsessing over it for weeks.

What happened to the pushy, enthusiastic car salespeople? I had to walk myself into the building and ask for help after we had walked around the whole lot.  Even though I explicitly asked for help, we still got a cold shoulder.  The sales guy acted like I was wasting his time.  HELLO? I came in there, asked for help, told you we were interested and told you exactly what we were looking for.

We finally got somebody who wanted to talk to us and we took a car out for a drive.  This man was not enthusiastic about what he was selling at all.  Oh yea, Mazda's are nice, they're super quiet. They're the most quiet car you can drive.  Let's not tell us that when we're driving and right before we hit the gas.  I've never driven a V6 that sounded like it was dying as much as this car.  I mean, it was WORKING to get up to 60.  The salesman's not loud at all, I don't know what you're talking about.  Do I look dumb to you? We did just come into your dealership driving a 7 year old SUV with a V6 engine that sounds better than your brand-new car off the lot.  As soon as we got back, he bolted.

Thanks! Never going back.  I guess these people here don't really care if they sell you anything or not.

The sales staff was extremely helpful with all aspects of the buying experience. We felt little to no pressure to do business with them, and they helped us find a deal that worked well, even finding additional savings for an additional car we had already planned to buy.

After a few poor experiences at dealerships/jiffy lube/etc, my husband is now in charge of taking my car in for service.  It is a thankless job but he'd rather do it then have me go and get pressured into an overpriced service I don't need (I'm a pushover).

When my Mitsubishi Lancer recently started vibrating whenever I went over 60 mph and the problem didn't magically go away for a couple of weeks (there is always hope!) we figured Marty (the car) better get a check up.  Marty has almost 90k miles and has never had a problem so we didn't know where to take him.  My husband chose Brookdale Mitsubishi (I have no idea why, we don't work OR live near it) for services.  Please do not ever take your car here.  My husband received a call about what the problem was at about noon that day.  He gave an ok to fix it over the phone (something about the left side brake bearing).  He called to check if it was ready numerous times throughout the afternoon.  Finally, knowing they closed at 6pm, he left work and took the bus to the dealership from downtown.  At 5:30pm, when he got there, my car was in pieces because the mechanic WAS WAITING FOR HIM TO SHOW UP so they could show him all the other issues/parts on the car they also wanted to fix.  Why didn't they mention it over the phone?  My husband would have ok'ed new belts be put on - they were really old and we figured other things would need to be fixed when we took it in - but instead of just asking they waited to show him the belts.  Why not tell my husband over the phone they wanted to show him the belt?

My husband sat at the dealer until 6:30 waiting for them to put Marty back together.  I had to sit at work until 7pm (on a Friday night no less) waiting for my husband to get the car and come pick me up.  We didn't get home to the dog until 7:30pm.  Our pug had to pee like a racehorse!  And my husband was a real treat of a man the rest of the night (sense my sarcasm?)

I'd like to add the car was dropped off at 7:30 am and we even had an appointment!  So if you have an entire day to burn and want to have your time wasted...this would be the perfect service center for you.

I went here for an oil change last night and I would say the service department is one of the nicest I've been to.  The people were very friendly and helpful although it took me a couple weeks to get a reservation time that worked with my schedule.

Also, they have free wi-fi in the waiting room which was very very unexpected but very nice.
