Jim VandenBerg purchased Maple Hill in 1995. In the past 16+ years we have gained and lost franchises, but still managed to grow. We are proud to be a Kalamazoo dealership, and we take pride in giving back to the community that we live and work in. A few years back we re-allotted a large amount of our advertising dollars to be used in the community. Now we are proud to be an integral part of over 20 community events throughout the year. Jim has always been a big advocate for making people feel like they were part of our family... Bought two cars here, currently servicing a third. Yes car salesman are interesting people, however I have never felt taken advantage at Maple Hill.

Have purchased two cars here and will return if need be. Both were used car purchases, but I did not get that 'used car hustle' feeling. Professional staff, family-owned dealership. I know they support the community and are a good employer. That means a lot - plus they sell the Subarus I love.

The first time I was here they were swamped, very polite and professional, but I waited awhile.
This visit was great, same courteous service. But, this time, it was super quick.
As said, the waiting room is nice and the car is washed to a sparkle before returned.

Just bought a VW. Stopped in here for my first oil change. Service manager was pleasant & explained my warranty etc. nice waiting area. Overall a great experience so far.

I have had my Audi for 6 years. It has been in numerous times. Not once have I picked the car up and not had to take it back in because of something being wrong.  People ask me all the time, how do you like your Audi, to which I respond I love it....but don't ever buy one because this is the only place in town to get it serviced. The service guy Dan always tries to help and get things fixed but its the mechanics in back that are making him and the shop look bad. He is always courteous and respectful.  The check out lady however is always rude. Haha I find that party humorous though, maybe it is because I take it in at 730-8 every time.
Most recent service, seemingly simple  wheel alignment. Picked it up, steering wheel was crooked. Took it back in, they claimed they fixed it, drove it away and it's crooked the exact same amount the other way. Come one this should be a simple one.

Watch your back if you use their service department.  Numerous times I've had one problem fixed and another one present itself right when I've started the car up.  Damage done to the engine compartment without them taking ownership, parts left in the engine compartment and a service manager that blew off my complaints until problems have escalated to the point of no return.  There is another VW dealer in Kalamazoo, I'll be using them and never returning to this service department ever again, even if it means paying $50 more for an oil change somewhere else.  If I could do less than one star I would.

I love this place! Why? I will tell you:

1. They gave me an AWESOME amount for my trade-in. Actually, I was fortunate they took my trade-in at all, because it was a piece of crap. And on top of that, to give me a more than fair trade amount? Amazing.

2. They honored a USAA pricing discount certificate, so I got the $400 off. Amazing again.

3. They worked super hard to get me a low interest rate.

4. Free unlimited car washes (forever while you own the car you purchased there) and service checks for the first 10,000 miles.

I also got an amazing warranty on my VW, which comes standard with their vehicles.

Ask for Greg D. He is a wonderful sales person who will work hard to get you what you want, and won't push you to get anything you don't want. Thanks again Maple Hill Subaru!
