Reviews on Boch Honda West

Setup an appointment so you'll get your car serviced faster.  Wait times aren't usually that bad. The service staff are always friendly people. However, being that it's a dealer, your serviceman or woman may recommend repairs or services that you most likely won't need. I tend to only come here for their oil change specials because they're affordably (is that even a word-I'm not sure) priced. Oh and their new car inventory is pretty cool too-makes me want to sell or trade in my car every time.

The staff 1there are very friendly and knowledgeable.  They display great customer service. I was pretty happy with the service I recieved. I would def recommend getting a car here.

All I can tell you is I bought 4 new tires and they still charged me for a tire rotation even after I argued that they put new tires on my car.  Why would I need a tire rotation if they just put 4 new tires on my car?  They wouldn't give me the car till I paid for the tire rotation.  Is this a blatant rip off?  I would think so.  Very bad business practice.  Never have your car serviced there!  They cheat, and in this case what would you call this?  ransoms?  I would call better business on them for this practice.  Stated again: they charge for things that are not needed or work they obviously do not do on your car.

I'm hovering between 3 and 4 stars. I bought a used Accord less than a month ago. The sales process was mostly easy. Joe was my salesman and was very low pressure, which I appreciated. The finance guy, who's name is escaping me, was pushy and obnoxious.

Upon taking delivery of the car, I noticed a few issues (vibration, door open warning light flickering on and off, blown speaker). They fixed the last two issues on the first try, but I had to bring it back in a second time to take care of the vibration (it ended up need a whole new set of tires). I probably spent a total of 6 hours waiting in their service area, which was incredibly annoying, but at least they did the repairs without any grumbling. I wish they had done a better job of inspecting the car and making any necessary repairs prior to putting it on the lot.

While I was happy with the price I paid and dealing with Joe as a salesman, the finance guy and the number of issues the car was delivered with kind of turned me off.

Obviously repairs at dealerships are more expensive, but mine would've been **10x** more expensive. Also: check this out:

They estimated a repair at $1,200 or thereabouts, for (mostly) a new spark plug and possibly an alternator. I told them "wow, it sounds like I don't have a choice, but I'll call you back." I got a competing offer of $120 from a different shop & went to Boch to retrieve my car. GET THIS. They already started the repair. When I challenged them to stop, she said, "You told us you didn't have a choice. We recorded the call if you don't believe us..."

Fortunately they undid the repair & I got it done elsewhere. But (1) was appalled that their first reaction wasn't "oops!" or "I can see why you're angry" but "WE RECORDED YOU," and (2) is that even legal without a beep or consent?

Avoid this shop. BTW after paying an investigation fee to this place, I took it to Joe's Citgo in Westford, who was fair, prompt, and friendly.

Unfortunately I do not have a lot of great things to say about my experience with Boch so far. I want to preface this review by saying that I know that it is to be expected to run into more issues than normal considering I bought a used vehicle. I knew going into that purchase that there would be more repairs and maintenance cost associated with the vehicle. With that being said, I have been very dissatisfied with the service I have received from Boch West thus far.
I brought my vehicle in because the check engine light was on and it needed a new inspection sticker. After a day of looking at the vehicle I was contacted by Boch and informed the car would need over $1,600 worth of repairs. Two of the repairs needed were new front tires and new front breaks. When I purchases my car one year earlier, the Boch sales man insisted that the Boch service team had done a thorough inspection and tune up of the car and the car would be good to go for a few years. This was clearly not the case as I only got one year out of the tires and brakes. I feel as though the salesman told me what I wanted to hear in order to sell the vehicle.
As I had no choice and needed the repairs done, I agreed to the repairs and was told my vehicle would be ready for the following Tuesday. Tuesday came and since it was about 3 pm and had not heard back from the service department, I contacted them to see if my car would be ready. They informed me it would be "ready by the end of the day." I ask what time the end of the day was as I know the service department is open into the evening but for me the end of the day is 5. I was informed that my car would be ready for my pick up after work and I would be contacted if it wasn't going to be ready. After work I arrived at Boch with another person to pick up my car and was informed it was going to be another hour to finish up the car. I asked why no one had called me but didn't get an answer. I returned home and waited an hour. After an hour I called to make sure the car was ready for pick up. I was informed then They needed another 45 minutes to put the car back together. Again I asked why no one had contacted me to let me know there would be a further delay but there was no explanation. After 45 minutes I decided to head to Boch as I figured my car had to have been completed by that point. On the way there I received a call from the service department informing me that my car was ready for pick up and that I only needed to drive the car 100 miles then bring it back to have the inspection done. This was extremely bothersome as I has been informed initially that when I would be picking up my car that would have been done for me and that I could not drive the car as it had an expired inspection sticker. In fairness to the service department they gave me a loaner for the night but my night was completed wasted running back and forth from Boch.

I was extremely disappointed with the service I received at Boch West on the two instances I had been there. To top it all off, the check engine light is already back on, not even one week after I picked my car up. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of Boch and will not be doing any more business with them.
I apologize for the lengthy review, but I felt the need to express my frustration with Boch and hope that someone reads this and takes this feedback into account before they do business with Boch.

Now most of this poor review is going to be attributed to the sales department:

My fiancee and I were in need of a new sedan after her 2004 Civic Hybrid experienced a number of expensive failures, the last of which prompted us to go shopping for a new car.

From the moment we walked in the salesman and his co-workers used every trick in the book on us, including buzzwords and the occasional condescending remark regarding our lack of car-buying experience.  The salesman had us test drive a 2008 Civic with over 50,000 miles (hated the price), then tried to pawn off an even older Civic on us.  He alluded that these were probably the only cars we could get in our price range.  Once we got away from the salesman we spotted a car in the depths of the lot (a 2011 Civic with only 10,000 miles) that was about the same price as the ones being pushed on us.  After nearly 4 hours of talking we finally reached an agreement.

In the end we reached a "deal" to finance, and though not horrible (we got a set of good warranties, some free oil changes and a tire rotation) the price was hardly what I would call good.  Why Boch Honda would want to give young couples a hard time about pricing on such a simple vehicle as a Civic is beyond me!

In brief, the car itself is great but the experience it took to get the car was unsatisfactory.  We will not be repeat customers.

As another side note:  The service department forgot to reset the service counter on the car and the light when on after only 1,500 miles...

Final final final update. I'll really try not to write about this place again. :)

We took it in for a tune up, and they suggested we do a bunch of things to it, for a total cost of around $1100. Before doing that, we took it to our longtime, trusted, awesome mechanic (Central Ave Auto in Ayer), who said he'd do the same work for $400. That is a HUUUUGE difference. Our local guy did it, it's been two months, and all is fine with the car. Going to avoid the dealer, moving forward. And, I learned that tune ups can be done by any mechanic. BTW, when we told the dealer we weren't ready to do it yet, he immediately offered to drop the price by 10%. So, they know that their prices are unnecessarily high. And they don't have a cool dog, like my local guy does.

In the last week I have been searching for a car in several dealerships and I can tell you that these people are by far the best people I met.
My sales person was Jim, who was extremely polite, honest and helped me with everything that needed to be done...
Paperwork was done fast and efficiently, payment options were flexible and the whole attitude made the experience just very relaxing and fun.
We went in, knew which car we wanted, knew how much we wanted to pay...the price was dropped to a more than reasonable price, Jim was very straightforward, did not play any of the usual "games" and we ended up shaking hands in not mo than 10 minutes after test driving the car.
Would commend these people to w definitely worth going all the way up to Westford from Boston to make a deal with them.
