Reviews on Bergeron Auto - NOLA

I live on the north shore but work on the south shore where Bergeron is located. I purchased my new Jeep at a north shore dealer one weekend when I was off. When I called to make a service appointment to have the oil changed at Bergeron, I was asked if I purchased it from them. When I told them I did not, they told me they would not service it as per their management and to bring it back to where I purchased it. REALLY? How immature, Bergeron. And the service at the north shore dealer isn't good either. After having owned/serviced Toyotas all my life, I was not used to this service (or lack of service) experience. Love the Jeep, but it will be my first and last Jeep/Dodge product. I can't wait to go back to Toyota!

This place refused to service my brand new vehicle!  I purchased my vehicle brand new from another dealership on the Westbank.  I had a problem with the A/C within the 1st week.  I called the service departments for both the dealership where I purchased it and this dealership and was told by both that I could bring my car here to be serviced since I live 2 blocks away.  When I called here, the lady told me that I would have to leave my car for about 3 days before it would be checked out because they take care of "their" customers first.  I thought that since I was a Dodge customer and was coming to have my vehicle serviced, I was considered a customer.  It was inconvenient for me to drive back to the WB and then try to find a ride so I settled for waiting the 3 days.  When I took my car in, once the man discovered I purchased my car elsewhere, he told me I had to take it there because it was new.  Who ever heard of anything like that?  I told him that I called and was told it could be serviced here, but I was still turned away.  Well,  since this business doesn't want new customers, I will make sure that when I have a problem that requires me to pay, that I take my business elsewhere.  I had read about the nightmares others had here on Yelp, but I was willing to give them a try just the same.  They won't have an opportunity to mess things up, because I certainly will not be back!

Very helpful lady, i think she was a manager. Was very willing to work with me on my trucks oil change and yelp discount  even though i had a diesel. The guys in the drive though service could use a good fire under their feet to provide better service, and I'm sure this place should have more than just one diesel tech.

After a driver's side T-bone collision in my Ford '06 sedan, my parents and I decided it was time for me to graduate to an SUV. After copious, diligent research, I found myself considering the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Before heading into Bergeron for a test drive, I called ahead to see if I could get my registration and taxes to my home state (out-of-state grad student here); they said that it'd be no problem.

Fast forward a week to me wandering into the sales floor, where I met Stephen Metcalf. Nicest guy in the world, asked me what I was looking for, and what help he could provide. I had brought a few print outs of their Cherokee inventory from , so right away he found the cars for a test drive. I tried out the 4-cylinder and V6 while at the same time, drilling Mr. Metcalf with questions about the car, the design, anything and everything I could think of. He didn't ever give me a non-answer or redirect a single question, which I appreciated so much.

Throughout the entire process, there was not a moment of pressure or urging to add features to the vehicle. Everyone was honest, open, and had answers for us right away. I am thrilled to be a Bergeron Cherokee owner.

Note: They automatically take off a good portion of the MSRP on each vehicle to give the "Bergeron price." This saves customers from haggling, and in everything I found, they were always hundreds of dollars below the "fair market price" sourced from , , and . You are sure to get a great deal.

Bottom line: Do yourself a favor and go to Bergeron (and ask for Mr. Metcalf).

Absolutely thrilled to have Bergeron as my local dealer. I have had 2 buying experiences through them, one for a Mopar '13 Dart, and the second... Well for another Mopar '13 Dart since I totaled the first within 4 months! So I'm going to write about both experiences.
I went to the dealership having known everything about the dart, I knew no dealer could sell me on a car I sold myself on! They saw it and realized they had more to learn from me than I from them. My sales associate through all experiences, Kurt, was always willing to assist. He never pressured a deal and focused more on seeing if the car fit you.
1st M'13:
I ordered it from the factory to my specs. There was a mishap though through the ordering and various trouble shooting. Computer problems and updates basically caused my car to cost more than when I ordered earlier and left my current order unable to be completed. Instead of forcing a price hike to accompany this, in an interest of retaining good customer relations, took the hit and held their bargain. Throughout the delivery, I was kept up to date with everything they had and was pleased by the service.
2nd M'13:
Having all 500 been built, they had to trade it from another dealership. We again worked out a deal and I was thoroughly pleased. A mishap happened with the one I was expecting to get (other dealership didn't trade) and they had to go on a pre-discussed 2nd choice that cost a little more. They again took the hit and kept their deal. There was no difficulty with any of the progress, they really are customer oriented.
Onto the dealership:
The first visit I was not entirely thrilled with the dealerships building. It was outdated and older looking. They have one of the largest stocks of cars, but the front was dreadful. By my second visit though, they had dropped around a million on redoing their front and building a new building to make more space. It looks like a real dealership now and is much nicer to walk into. Top notch.
The staff:
All I can say is, everyone is awesome there. I know them all pretty well and can say they are some of the friendliest staff you can get!
Being a first year model, minor problems are expected to happen. I have read of so many problems with getting them fixed, yet through Bergeron, not one problem. They are friendly and again, great people to talk to. Some of the biggest Mopar gear heads in the city. You can trust them with your car.

I spent my time writing this since most times people write a review is because they were unhappy with what they got. I want to say good on Bergeron for being so great. If you are looking for a dealership to buy your jeep dodge ram chrysler from, Bergeron is your place.

Wouldn't recommend anyone to go here if they needs something replaced with their automobile. Had my car towed here to get a key replaced, they did replace my key but failed to program it to my car which they said they had no idea what it was and they couldn't fix it. My car was on their lot for 2 weeks mind you.

I went not long before closing.  So when I purchase a vehicle I didn't get the usual cleaned up vehicle which left me getting all the sticker glue off the windows myself.  Sales people were nice.  Very boring while waiting though.   No TV or internet.  Just a very small area to sit.  Extremely boring atmosphere!!!!

So, I own a 2004 Volvo s60 with only 61k miles.  The car started giving me an ABS failure warning AND transmission needing servicing.  How do these two connect?!  I talked with "car" guys and they couldn't get the connection.  I got it into Bergeron.  They told me that the ABS needed replacing.  It cost me $1,900.00.  Picked it up during my lunch break and went back to work thinking it was fixed.  That evening my car gives me the SAME exact warnings!!!!!  Since it was after hours by that time, I left a message for the service department telling them what happened and that I would be returning the car in the morning.  When I drop it off they tell me they know exactly what's wrong it.  Noon comes and goes with no word.  I call and leave a message.  Finally I hear back from them.  They tell me they neglected to reload a certain software.  This reload would cost me another $67.00.  I know what you're thinking, a.) did they really need to replace the ABS; and b.) it's THEIR mistake why am I being charged for it?!  When I get there they admit to me that they couldn't figure out what was wrong.  They had to get Volvo corporate in on it.  Corporate is who diagnosed the problem. When I get there I ask to speak with the manager.  I tell him I need proof that the ABS needed replacing.  Defensively he agrees to give me a copy of the printout from the day before when they hooked my car up to the diagnosis machine and the one from today.  I going to send corporate both copies of these along with my bill and lovely letter.  I then ask why am I paying $67.00 for their mistake.  The manager actually argued with me on this point.  YES!!!!  It's just good business/customer service to eat that charge.  I had to get up earlier, drive out to Metairie, take a cab (which they paid for) back downtown and then leave work early to get there in rush hour traffic before they closed.  By that time it was 5:15 and I had to be ready for 6:30 to attend a wedding.  There I was having to argue with the service manager over $67.00.  Don't forget that I've already paid $1,900.00!!!!   COME ON!!!!!  My father suggested finding other Volvo owners to see where they take their cars.  There are several in my work parking garage.  I'm hoping I will never have to go back to Bergeron Volvo.  This is the second car I've purchased from then and it will be my last.  They could have at least bought me dinner.

They broke my Viper remote that cost $100 and did nothing about it. I had to get my water pump and A/C fixed i brought it in to (Bergeron Dodge Chrysler Jeep) I can't complain about the work done to the parts broken, but length of time and damage to my Alarm remote is not ok. It took over a week to swap out the water pump and change a flap in the A/C unit. What really pissed me off is when i went to pick up my truck and they handed me my keys i started it up and i thought all was good. Before i left i noticed the screen on my Alarm remote was cracked and the LCD liquid was spread all over the screen. I brought it back in and showed them, after some guy just stood there pretending to do something and after i said i just paid $100 for a new remote not even 3 month ago. He just handed it back and said he would look into it. I said look into what my remote was fine when i brought i in i spent hundreds getting my truck fixed and now i got to spend another $100 for your screw up. It looked like someone threw my keys and the screen cracked then left on dash while working in the sun. So basically they said " ow well " and did nothing about it. I lost my job a month later and has never had the money to replace the remote so i cant even use my expensive alarm. If you have no choice to go here please remove anything of value and double check the entire car before leaving.

Absolutely the worst car repair service I have ever received!

I brought my Jeep Wrangler here to get a "check-up" and ended up with a couple thousand dollars worth of extra auto work due to their incompetence.  I had a small clicking in my manual transmission and it was slipping out of first gear so I brought it to the dealership thinking they would know how to fix it... they made the car after all!!

1st visit - they fixed the clicking and it didn't slip out of gear, BUT they were a week latter than promised and I kept having a check engine light come one.  "Oh, ya, about that, we're not sure what thats about..." thanks guys! $2,500 for a repair on my transmission, not a new one.

2nd-5th visit - Check engine light, no cost, but lots of time.

6th visit - the electrical system in my jeep caught on fire and melted the entire wiring harness in the engine compartment.  Why?  Because there was a short with the starter.  Why? Thats a good question, I asked the same thing ($1,500 later) and got nothing!  No one had a clue.

After the fact, I brought my jeep into another auto shop and had them check it out and give me their opinion.  Based on this story, a little more graphic and un-edited, they were almost 100% confident that it was their negligence that led to all these issues.

Bottom line:  They are not professionals and have no idea what they are doing.  They are THE DEALERSHIP, I brought my Jeep to them and paid a premium because they are suppose to know what they are doing... far from reality.  If you need an oil change, you can go there, but anything else, there are lots of very good mechanics in the city so go see one of them. They could offer me free service for the life of my vehicle and I would turn it done, totally not worth the hassle.

This is the worst dealership I have ever been to. When I bought my jeep I was promised a detailed car wash because they did not have time to wash it when I picked it up and everytime I went back there to get them to detail it, they were "too busy". I was also promised a second key because the office was closed but i went twice to get the key and each time they told me i would have to come back. They also told me when I bought my jeep that they would top off the tank with gas before I left, they didnt. I left  with a half of tank. They also overcharged me with taxes, I ended up following up with the state to get a refund of 650.00 from the overage they had charged me. BUYERS BEWARE!!

After doing LITERALLY 6 months of research, test-drives, visiting dealerships all over LA, MS, and AL, I finally decided to buy my car from this dealership right here in Metairie. Quite a few factors led me to choose to buy from these guys rather than their competition, but just to name a few;
     1) The Sales Manager named Mike is super nice, very knowledgeable and helpful.
     2) They went the lowest on the price of any of the 10+ dealerships I visited for the car I wanted.
     3) The sales process was seamless
     4) There were no "high pressure" sales. I don't stand for it and they didn't even try it on me.... which was awesome.
     5) I told them exactly what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay and they (somehow) made it happen. I don't know if I lucked out or if they are just that awesome, but I got my car for thousands under invoice (which they actually showed me upon request!).

I have a good bit of experience with Jeep and Chrysler dealerships and this one rates the best in the tri-state area. The sales people were friendly, knowledgeable and not pushy at all. I would recommend anyone who wants to buy a Chrysler, Jeep, Volvo or Dodge to buy it from here. At least give them a try . Stop over and see what the say and how they treat you. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

P.S. - I pretty much hate sales people.... so to like all of the people who work here in sales is amazing in itself!
