I just bought a used Kia Soul from Midwest Kia with the help of  salesman Jose Gomez.  

Mr. Gomez is unique among car salesmen (in my experience) for he is humble, helpful, patient  and kind.  He did not use the standard sales techniques, did not push for a decision nor try to make me buy before I was ready to.  If he did not know the answer to a question he admitted it and when and found the answer for me.  He made all arrangements so they were convenient for me rather than for the dealership.  He kept his word, always doing what he had said he would do when he said he would do it.

He told me, "I want to be one of the good guy salesmen."  He most certainly is.  I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Will never go back to Midwest Kia...EVER. Last Saturday my husband and I drove into the lot and as we drove by, a large man yelled at us "You gonna buy a car today?" We were not even out of our car yet. At that point we contemplated turning around and driving off. But, I really wanted to see inside a Kia SUV, so we got out of the car. The big man who yelled at us came swaggering up to us - in a "big pimpin ghetto kind of way" and asked us what we were in the market for and when we were looking to purchase. Answering his questions, I guessed he made the internal decision to give us to another salesman who was equally ghetto and only interested in what our credit score was. When we asked questions he had no idea of the answers and really made no effort to get the answers. A shrug of the shoulders and " I don' know really..." was his response to nearly every question. Other salesmen were standing around being loud and obnoxious with each other . Husband and I left in disgust. We ended up buying a new Volvo XC60 the same day. The level of professionalism we received from Volvo compared to Midwest Kia was mind blowing. Sorry Midwest Kia, you lost out on a 45k sale.

Me and my wife came there after a radio ad that everyone walks out with a check for $1,000 when you buy a car. They never said it was $1,000 off. Basically they try to sell me a vehicle way over blue book price ($800 plus) then took off $1,000, then they tried to give me only $2,000 for a trade (blue book trade in value was between $4,000 to $5225). We ending up walking away and will never come back. Buyer beware. We have bought from them before years ago but now we found Super Car Guys that treats people with respect and not try to get people in the door with false advertising.

So, I spent 2 days of my life at a local Kansas City Kia dealer getting smoke blown up my ass.  I was allowed to take a car home overnight, but it wasn't the color I wanted.  We told them exactly what we wanted, how much we had to put down, and what payments we could afford.  We were clear that we were ready to do business.  They pulled the usual tricks to keep us in the dealership and made me jump through a zillion fiery hoops to try to get through the approval process.  The salesperson seemed to be ok, it was the department managers who started playing the dreaded numbers game that every parasite in a car dealership does.  They wanted to double the down payment and $150 a month more than what we said we could afford.  You can't tell me it took them 2 days to piece all of this together.

The reason you can't tell me this is because another bartender friend of mine connected me with Dustin in the finance department of Midwest Kia.  I bought this car via text messaging from someone 3 hours away from where I live.  He found the color car and options I wanted and had me approved with the down payment I could afford and the payments we wanted...WITHIN 30 MINUTES.  Yes, that's what I said...WITHIN 30 MINUTES!  We were also given $1600 more on our trade-in.  To really put salt in the wound, the car I wanted was 10 miles away in Olathe.  The other dealer I was dealing with obviously didn't even bother to look for the car I wanted, and was dead set on talking us into a white car that we didnt' want.

Once we got the financing approval, Dustin handed us off to a salesperson named Patrick.  Both of these gentleman were professional, courteous, fast, AND HONEST.  No hot dog fast talk, and no hook, line, and sinker shenanigans.  Almost every aspect of this sale was done via texting.  This was the most wonderful car buying experience I have ever had.  What sealed the deal was their offer to deliver the car to my work and pick up my trade.  I was to fill out all the paperwork with the driver.  He showed up on time and we were done with all the paperwork and car exchange within 30 minutes.

I am now the proud new owner of a 2014 Kale Green Kia Soul which had 40 miles on it when it was delivered.  The redesign of the exterior and interior of this car are awesome.  We are very happy new Kia owners.  The 10 year 100,000 mile and 5 year 60,000 bumper to bumper warranty are the best in the business.  This car rides quietly and smoothly.  We expected a bumpy ride and to feel like we were canned up in a cheap SUV.  This was not the case at all.  We were pleasantly surprised at how far Kia has come.  I recommend Kia cars and this dealership to anyone in the market for a vehicle.  You get a lot of car for the money.
