Established in 1984.

Mel Hambelton Ford was founded in 1984.  "My father, Mel Hambelton, became a Ford Dealer in February of 1984, when he bought the existing "Steve Hull Ford" dealership located at 3901 N. Broadway, at the intersection of Route 235," says Ms. Hambelton.
"Mel Hambelton Ford remained in that location until Ford Motor Company asked my father in 1998 to open a location on the west side of Wichita. Although it sounded exciting, he was reluctant because of his age. After much deliberation, he went through with it and ground was broken at the new location at the corner of 119th and Kellogg."
The dealership moved in the summer of 2002, with the official grand opening in September of 2002.

So we bought a truck here in February. Since then we have had many issues with paperwork. We had a maintenance problem while we were out of town and were told we had $100 deductible even though we paid so we would have a $0 deductible. Turns out, once again, the paperwork didnt get put into the computer correctly.

These guys are nice, sure but really. Its such a headache to have to deal with the same problem over and over again. As much as I love Ford, I wont be buying my next Ford from this dealership based on their inability to file the paperwork correctly.

I had purchased a used 2004 GMC Envoy XLT back in the end of Sept 2010. I have only owned it for 8 months and have only put 10,000 miles on it. I took out the ext warranty with the advice of the finance dept. I discovered shortly after purchased that it was consuming oil. I spoke with Mel Hambelton Ford regarding this and they advised me to take it to the short since it has the ext warranty.I took it in and the dealership found nothing wrong with the car. As I was driving it I noticed the check engine light came on and started flashing and I lost speed. I took it back to the dealership and they found that I had a FRIED PISTON RING. It will cost me out of my own pocket $1500.00 to have it checked out!! What?? My pocket thats why I purchased the ext warranty...well guess what they dont cover piston rings!! My Service Adviser advised me to that he had spoken with the Warranty dept and THEY WILL NOT COVER ANYTHING!! He also advice me that this car was a Lemon when I bought it because whoever sold it to me knew that this oil problem was a bad piston ring!He told me that it would be cheaper to replace the car at this point then the engine (which is what is needed). I contacted Mel Hambelton numerous times regarding this and they advise me that there is NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME!! I currently am upside down on it now and am car-less and NO MONEY! I WILL NOT BE REFERRING NO ONE FAMILY, FRIENDS, or FRO to This company NOR WILL I EVER GO BACK!! I would think they would stand behind what they sell and not to sell lemons to their customers but I guess that they just DONT CARE!! I dont want to do business with a company that only cares about making money and not customer satisfaction!
