SKILLMAN NORTHEAST DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE

We wanted to give you, our fellow consumers, an update on our review of Ray Skillman Northeast Buick and GMC.

Clearly, the general manager there doesn't care.

We cut-and-pasted our 1-star review and sent it directly to the dealership. NO RESPONSE. Well, actually, we did get a response, but from another dealership. LOL

If Skillman Northeast doesn't care when a customer is interested in purchasing a new SUV, can you imagine their concern if you had a small service or repair issue?

Fortunately, whether you're on 40 or 465, you can drive right by Ray Skillman Northeast Buick and GMC at highway speed.

I took my car to their collision center after getting some hail damage. The damage appraisal was very easy, and the employees were very friendly.

I dropped my car off for what was supposed to be 3-4 days of work. Luckily I had another vehicle of my own to drive instead of a rental, because the work ended up taking 3 weeks. After a few days of removing dents using the paintless dent removal, they discovered that some of the dents required conventional dent repair. That's where the extra time came into play, but even with that 3 weeks is a long time.

All through this time, the employees were very helpful. I was able to get status updates on my car whenever I called (though I had to call them).

When I finally got to pick up my car, the very first thing I noticed was that my back bumper was no longer the same color as the rest of my car. The paint they had used for the damaged area was slightly darker than the original car color. You don't notice the difference where the paint was blended, but the bumper was not blended and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I took my car back two days later to have them fix that issue. This time, i was issued one of their loaner cars, which was nice. I had also asked them to fix my trunk lid when they were painting the bumper. Something was loose inside the trunk lid that rattled every time you opened the trunk. That was new as of the car being worked on.

I finally got my car back a second time. The bumper was blended a lot better this time.

My main issue is with the quality and attention to work. The paint mishap was VERY obvious when looking at the car. The headliner is dirty where the workers hands touched it when putting it back in, they struggled to get my drivers side door put back together and there are obvious screw driver marks where they tried to cram the panels back together (which failed as they are starting to come apart now), and there are little specs of glue all over the interior that i've had to scrape off. There is also an audible air leak in my sunroof that wasn't there before they removed it to perform the repairs. Finally, last night I noticed that one of my wheels had a pretty big scratch right near the lug nut hole which is indicative of someone not paying attention when taking off a lugnut and hitting the wheel.

I'm one of those people that's super anal about their cars and knows where every flaw is, so I know none of the above were there before taking my car in.

Overall, the quality of the work was just not something I would have expected from a professional collision center.

From a person interaction standpoint, the employees were excellent. From a quality standpoint, I would not take my car here again.
