Reviews on Ed Martin Acura

I'm an Acura owner for almost 20 years.  We have 3 Acuras in the family and I'm a strong supporter of the cars.  But my trust is declining in the Service Department.  We have had 2 issues this year in which repairs didn't last and we were told that the coverage had expired---less than a year but no coverage on repairs?!?
Update--- traded the car in for a Hyundai from Butler Hyundai.  Great price and better warranties than Acura.

Happy to report that the car was fixed quickly and the service remained absolutely perfect. Great experience. I highly recommend this dealership.

I have been an Acura owner since 2005! I have been taking my car here for years until I moved to Charlotte.  I only deal with Jolene!!! I have been in Charlotte for two years and cannot find a place there I trust to work on my car. I have taken it to The dealerships in Columbia, Charlotte and Johnson City. Only to call and check pricing and suggested repairs with Jolene. She knows I can't bring my car in because I no longer live in Indy. I have spoken to her at least 5 times on the phone over the last two years about advice on the car. I was so disappointed with dealerships in the Carolina's I drove 10 hours here for Christmas to have it serviced at Ed Martin! My car has over 200,000 miles on it and only needed a few small repairs. They quoted $266 when Columbia quoted $2,500 for parts I repaired this year! If you have any question about taking your car to this dealership.... Deal with Jolene. She will tell you what you need to know. Hey, if I drove 10 hours by myself just to take it to her you know it's worth it!!!!!

Service Dept:

I have been taking my 2004 TSX to Ed Martin since I bought it used in 2007.  I always schedule and appointment and are usually able to get me in within a couple of days.  I did have the alternator go out and they were able to replace it the next day.  Some things are a little odd, such as, when I was having A/C problems, and thought it was the compressor going bad, they said they've never heard of issues with the TSX compressor, but when you Google "TSX air conditioning compressor" there are thousands of hits and the saga of the "black death" and a link to the class action lawsuit for reimbursement of expense associated with the problem. Something I would expect an Acura dealership to know about.

Recently, I had the car in for the 120K mileage check.  There were some mix-ups around when the car would be ready and such, but not a big deal.  When I picked up the car, the rotors and calipers were painted BRIGHT silver. Ick. While someone may have thought that was better than the rust that was on there, if they had told me they were going to paint them, I would have asked for black, or for them not to waste their time. Makes me wonder what else they were doing without my permission. Also, now that I'm re-painting them black, the paint that was used was very low quality and is giving me fits on trying to cover it up.

I ordered a part from this dealership online and when discovered it was the wrong part  and wouldn't work with my vehicle, I called to see what they could do to help. Their answer was we can't return because it's an electrical item.  They weren't willing to help with exchanging or refunding my money at all. The person in the parts department was also pretty rude about it. Now I'm out $200. Thanks for nothing. Thumbs down for customer service.

About two months ago, I purchased my first Acura from Ed Martin -- a certified pre-owned 2008 TL. After 15 years of driving (and loving) Honda Accords, it was natural step up for me.

The sales experience and followup were very professional. No high-pressure tactics and my questions were always answered promptly. The only aspect of the sales process that I was a little put off by was the pressure applied to purchase a long-term warranty.

A couple of weeks ago, I took the car in to Ed Martin Acura for an oil change, which was the first service I had performed on it since the purchase. The waiting area was very clean, comfortable, and well-appointed and I also appreciated the professionalism of the service staff and cashier. The complimentary car wash was also a very nice touch. The only complaint I have regarding the service was the length of time it took -- nearly 90 minutes for an oil change early on a weekday afternoon.

Based on my initial experience the service department at Ed Martin, I'll definitely be back (but hopefully for routine maintenance only... lol).

I purchased a 2008 Honda S2000 from Ed Martin Acura about a year ago...I know, a little late on reviewing the dealership experience.  Things happen, but since I was happy with the experience, here I am with a review :  )  Since I live in Austin, the purchase process was done exclusively online and over the phone.  Randy was great to deal with and took the time to appease my requests for photos and even walk-around video of the car.  They ordered and installed accessories that I requested and rolled them into the purchase price and even set up the shipping on the car.  They were able to upgrade shipping to an enclosed trailer for the same cost as an open trailer!  When the car arrived, I found a couple of blemishes that weren't disclosed to me but the general manager and I were able to come to an agreement and they sent me a check for the repair amount - they definitely didn't need to go the extra mile and help me out since I SHOULD have booked a flight to see the car in person, but they did and they get a big thumbs up for it!  The only reason that they don't get a 5 star is that after the car arrived in Austin, they didn't seem to have the same urgency to return my phone calls about the blemishes as before I bought the car.  That's not to say that they didn't make things right in the end, but it's a little frustrating and nerve-racking when the people that previously jumped through hoops for you weren't doing so as quickly anymore.  Overall, though, I would definitely recommend Ed Martin Acura.  Cheers to customer service!

Best automotive service in Indy that I have experienced.  Friendly, helpful, warranty advocacy, no oversell, they do it very, very well.
