Reviews on Outback Auto Sales Inc

They wouldn't let us take the vehicle to our own mechanic.

Very unkind words and abusive language.

I do not trust them.

I do not recommend this seller.

Update - October 26, 2012

Well, for some reason Yelp is "filtering" my review out.  Not sure why.  I am a real person who had a real (very negative) experience with this business.

Feel free to contact me (Anybody working with Yelp or anyone who is interested in my thoughts on this business) if you want more info.

To be a bit more specific about the original review:  I was a new car buyer (inexperienced at negotiating, etc.).  When I made an offer on the Honda CRV that was for sale the salesman just said "no" in a very "I'm not interested in even talking to you" kinda way.  I had offered a percentage of what we were willing to pay as I had read somewhere on the internet  to do.

When the sales guy wasn't even interested I left disappointed.

A short while after leaving I started receiving insulting and very vulgar text messages from the owner (at least it is the person that I think is the owner - I'm pretty sure he was the owner).  I am still shocked all this time later about how bad his behavior was.

We had originally been in touch by email before we went to look at the car.  He also began sending vulgar and insulting emails!

I tried to confront him about his behavior but he maintained his attitude.  He never apologized and he never showed any signs that he was trying to understand me.

Honestly, it is hard for me to understand how this place is in business.  I guess they must be nice to people who just show up and offer the list price.  I don't know.

I wish this story were different.  If you choose to go there I hope you have an experience like the two hyper-nice sounding reviews that are also here on yelp with mine.

But I cannot recommend it.  Especially if you are a new car buyer.  Maybe veterans can handle this place.  Maybe it's a Chicago cultural thing or something.  (I am from a small town, not from the city.)

My recommendation would be to buy a car somewhere else.  Fortunately I was able to actually by a newer model CRV with a nicer trim and fewer miles (in excellent condition!) from a private seller.  If you go to this place after reading my review, I hope you have a better experience.
