I guess I have not had any experiences like the other people who have reviewed Honda of Ames here. We got the best price on our CRV around as I checked other dealers. I was not offered any lifetime oil change so I can't comment to that. I got all the services I requested and a couple they mentioned to me that I questioned if I wanted but decided they would be for the best and I'm glad I did. A few months later I did have a tire that Walmart refused to repair as they said it was close to being on the sidewall but I think they just wanted to sell me a new tire. I took it to Honda of Ames and they agreed it was close but not too close to repair so they fixed it. They repaired the tire and it has been to the west coast and back as well as Texas and back. No problem. I have found them completely friendly and satisfying in all ways. I just haven't seen the problems the other reviewers have seen but I am always on the lookout for things with mechanic shops. The little quick lube places are known for thievery. Going back today for service and I live in southern Iowa.

The car salesman Lee kept hounding and hounding us and when we told him we got a better price elsewhere, he hounded us some more. Don't give them your contact info if you value your privacy and sanity.

Also, Lee did not wear a seatbelt during out test drive.

i purchased a brand new Honda Accord fully loaded from Honda of Ames and i also purchased additional services and a life time oil change. The experience was good that's until i returned for services and oil change and i could not believe how this people didn't care at all. i decide it to just give it another try 3month later thinking maybe that was just a bad day for the pple their and i added a tire rotation service and i have marked the tires to really make sure they did rotate them learn this trick years ago from a mechanic friend and again the worse experience EVER with the service department and yes they DID NOT ROTATE my tires but sure i was charged for the tire rotation service. I will never ever buy or service my car at that dealer again. i give them two star because of the car quality not the service. be careful with them and mark your tires to make sure the did rotate them before they charge you. good luck all

My husband and I recently purchased a new Honda Fit here.  This was my husband's second time purchasing a car from here and my first time.  
The experience was not exactly pleasant but not horrible either.

Our salesman was great, but the day we went to pick up the car we had to sit and wait for almost 2 hours before we were even helped.  The guy who we filled out the paperwork with was also annoyingly pushy about trying to get us to sign up for their service of "free" oil changes for as long as you own the vehicle for $500.  He continued to try to push the service on us even after we had told him no twice.   We were also told that the car had only 15 miles on it but when I got in I noticed it had 125 on it.  Not a huge deal but their service could be a little more polished to prevent these small inconveniences from happening.

On the other hand we have been very satisfied with the car!
