I had a very positive experience buying a used car at Best Value Auto Sales, just a couple weeks ago. My wife and I returned to Bradenton after living overseas for a couple years. Since we were without wheels, we needed to buy a vehicle as soon as possible. We spent an entire day visiting different dealerships and looking at cars. The problem was that each dealership was adding on about $2,000 in fees to an $8,000 vehicle. One dealership quoted me a final price of $11,500 for a vehicle they advertised for $7,900. Wow.

The last dealership I went to was Best Value, and they had a nice 06 Honda CRV for $8,000. I was very pleasantly surprised to hear the final price (with taxes and fees) was $8,800. I put a deposit down on the vehicle, and came back the next day to take it to a mechanic for an independent evaluation. Everything worked out and I purchased the vehicle. We've been very pleased with the vehicle so far.

Bottom line is we got a great vehicle for a good price, with far lower fees than other dealers charge.

UPDATE: 8 months later and the vehicle is running great with no problems!

Not sure who will read a review of a used car lot on yelp, but I wanted to write this review in an effort to help others steer clear.

They will try to change the terms of a signed contract in order to make more money. If you're intelligent enough to read the additional paperwork and find the discrepancies, they may fix them, but trust me they will introduce new changes to try to still make additional money.

For my experience, after no contact from them for nearly three weeks, they first changed the amount to be financed nearly $600 from the original SIGNED contract, and had multiple home addresses listed. After having to argue and contact them for another two weeks (because they forget who you were or that they needed to be following up on anything), I finally managed to have them send me a "corrected" contract. After receiving the second set of paperwork the original issues were indeed corrected, however, now the financing APR had jumped nearly two percentage points...basically making up the $600 they tried to charge me on the first set of paperwork.

My guess is Best Value Auto deals with individuals who's credit is so bad, don't have a job, or are not necessarily documented that they get away with these practices because these poor folks feel they have no alternative.

Bottom line, do not deal with these guys. If I could give zero stars I most certainly would!
