Reviews on Southside Kia

My wife and I moved to Jacksonville not long ago, and were looking for a car. My wife really liked her Optima in the past so we decided to go to Southside Kia to look around. Nick came out with a warm welcome, test drove a 2015 Optima. My wife and I were really impressed by the vehicle, the customer service, and the ability to purchase the car within a timely manner. We were really impressed with Nick and would recommend him for any purchase/lease.

Long story short: Never go here for service.
Longer version: They take forever to do even minor service, i.e., 2.5 hours for an oil change, 4 hours to change a tire, 1/2 hour on the phone to set up an appointment. Be prepared to precisely diagnose the problem with your vehicle and list the exact services you require to fix the problem yourself; otherwise, neither will be done satisfactorily and you will have to take your vehicle elsewhere. Dealership is interested only in maximizing sale of services per visit which you can hear them openly discussing, i.e., did you leave anything on the table?

This is a very long boring tale.  I brought my 2004 KIA in for her 60,000 check up.  Yhea 60,000.   I travel in my job so the car spends a lot of time in my garage or at the air port  waiting for me to return. I am dilligent about service and have always used this dealer for that purpose.   Never had
any complaints, every person I had dealings with acted in a most professional manner.  They have a comfortable waiting area with a TV and free coffee.  I often bring Winston the dog and we hang out waiting.  If  you don't have the luxury of waiting around they do offer shuttle service : take you there and bring you back.
So here is the boring part.  I knew I had time to kill while they checked my car over to give me an idea of needed service and cost.  I was going to use thst time bothering the sales staff so off I go to the dealership.  In my mind car sales people are like grasshopper you just want to swat them off you.  Not so much here.  Moe approached me introduced himself and asked if he could assist me in any way.  Now you must realize I have been Jonesing for a new car for at least a year and knew exactly what I wanted.  So off we go to the lot.  Up and down the lines of cars till he found the one I wanted.  Let the games  begin. I had my price he had his.  Well I worked him or did he work me for about an hour and a half.  Then the test drive. Tearing up 9A I could see the fear in Kens eyes.   I am now seriously in love with the car, but not the deal.  Back inside haggle haggle so I finally had to tell him I did not really need a new car appriciated his time and patience but since he could not meet my price point Adios.  So on my way back to service I did tell the manager it was sad we could not meet on common ground over a few hundred dollars.  He looked at me like I was the planets biggest Bitch smiled and gave me the cut i had asked for.  Yhea I now have a new car.  Thanks to Moe and Ken and Joe.  You guys made the experience challenging but treated me respectfully, and who
doesn't that.

Fuel adjustment spending money. They mis-printed the sheets on our Soul so they have to pay us for our mileage usage. A 1 1/2 years 58,684 miles. That will pay for a few dinners. Other then the service dept. I haven't been inside the dealership. I don't need another car payment. I do like our Soul though it has been a great car.

My review of the Kia at Orange Park can be found here:… Another one star for another awful dealership. My grandmother has since brought her Kia to this dealership a few times and has received the exact same kind of service from them: fraudulent, overcharging, lying. Additionally, the woman who runs the front desk at the service department would not possibly be any ruder. Stay far away from Kia dealerships in Jacksonville. They all seem to be run by people who wouldn't know good customer service if they were hit over the head with it.
